I’m super happy to see Western Land and Mario’s Rainbow Castle return in Jamboree! They’re some of my favorite boards in their respective games, and I’m super excited to play on them in Jamboree!

Adding retro boards was a very good idea in my opinion. I didn’t buy Mario Party Superstars because it didn’t have original boards, and it didn’t use its full potential by adding dozens of retro boards from across the series. Jamboree having new maps along with remastered ones was definitely a great idea.

Unrelated fun fact: I saw a Super Mario Party Jamboree sneakpeek video, and I used Google Translate to translate the Japanese text into English. Turns out that is you roll using the Turbo Dice Block, you won't be able to by a Star if you pass by it.

Whats even more exciting that besides the remixed rainbow castle theme there will probably be "dark and stormy" variant which I guess will sound "darker" or "more aggressive" and homestretch variant. Imagine the "bowsers version" of rainbow castle sounding similiar to regular rainbow castle them but now with electric guitar as an instrument playing it.

MP1's version of Rainbow Castle's essentially a 5 star difficulty disguised as a 1 star, hence how some people will call its 1 star difficulty a "fake" or a "Lie". and its all true! cuz of how brutal it was back then due to how MP1 worked, includin da iconic Bowser 40 coin Fake Star (it wasn't named Shadow Star/Ztar til later) MP1's basically: losing coins for losing minigames, da unwinnable 1 v 3 tug o war(seriously its always best to not play tug o war), RNG Item Blocks of which, Warp Block and ? Brick Block auto-use up your turn, but its deff got one of my fave boards in Rainbow Castle for sure. MP1's brutal, but that's also one of its charm points Jamboree deff makin it like da 1 star difficulty it shoulda been thanks to da item shop, deff excited to hear how da music sounds like 🤔

@@MLmaster135 Im 90% sure bowser wont take 40 coins in Jamboree version. He was also nerfed in superstars where passing him in Yoshis tropical Island or Peachs birthday cake took a lot less coins than in original MP1.

I am wondering, if the remixed soundtrack for Rainbow Castle, has a more sinister instrumental for when it switches to Bowser, and the lighting goes darker etc. Horror Land in Superstars did the same - it got a few more harsher instruments in the background to suit the mood, so it’s what I’m expecting. I just hope the normal/daytime version remix is amazing, I’m so excited to hear it

@@Swiftjar There's two main reasons why I like them. 1: Everyone else hates them. B: It's frustrating (in a fun way) when you just get beaten due to a bad cannon shot or U.F.O. transport.

After playing Western Land, the changes are so good! The right skeleton gate change to let you loop to get boo again adds a lot of strategy

I'm really hoping that the economy on these boards will be fair; I really don't want everything to be so easy to get on these fabulous boards. Also, I really liked how you did a collab with some other creators! Really fun to hear why they are excited about the boards!

Tbh I don't think they economy will be busted in this game. Even though there are plenty of ways to get coins, you can also lose coins more ways than recently titles. Coin hex's, bad luck spaces, Bowser spaces, red spaces and some boards have special ways of taking coins like the Piranha Plant Attack events on Wiggler's Tree Party, the 200% Sticker on Rainbow Galleria, the RIDICULOUS amount of Bowser spaces that'll be in play on King Bowser's Keep. The possible gimmick of Bowser stealing 40 coins on Mario's Rainbow Castle. I think it'll even out. Not to mention the items you can use like the Bowser Phone and, again, the Hex's, along with the Boo Bell as usual. I don't think these boards will be too bad. Of course I could be wrong

@@shadedalion5478doesn’t hurt that besides Rainbow Galleria’s flash sales (very curious as to how this board in particular will turn out btw), the economy seemingly hasn’t really had any changes to make it easier (compared to Superstars) that would offset the changes made to drain the players of coins

Mario's Rainbow Castle has me excited. One of my favorite boards in the entire series due to how much lil you can control. You have a couple of alternating paths, but there's not much of a difference, as it all leads to the same destination. The frantic nature of trying to beat the others to toad first, or praying that someone lands on a Happening Space so that you don't have to see Bowser. Mix in the fantastic music and aesthetics, I'm so ready to play on it.

I hope the music also changes when it switches to Bowser in Mario's Rainbow Castle Also I like how the second junction is the exact same as the original, where if you come up to it with 5 spaces remaining, no matter which direction you choose, you're gonna land on a happening space (also the bowser space and the chance time space leading up to the star space being the same as the original is nice)

Id be surprised if it didnt. Notice how on most boards the music is much more dynamic than in previous mario party games where the music changes based on the section of the board and even going to the shop or boo spot has its own themes.

I’m very excited for Western Land in particular, as I love the old west aesthetic in fiction. Helps I live in a more Southern state, so I can more relate to a stage like Western Land. And even if the board looks possibly smaller, it still looks incredibly fun, and I cannot wait. Also excited to revisit Mario’s Rainbow Castle, though, given how long it’s been since I’ve played on that board in the original. It’ll be nice to fall in love with it all over again, since it just seems like an excellently designed board with great Quality of Life updates.

I wish lucky spaces were much less common. They can hardly be considered ‘lucky’ when they make up 15-20% of the spaces. It just makes the economy that much more inflated

True, it needs to be balanced. That's why rainbow castle looks really good to me, because there aren't too many of them and there are enough bad spaces as well. Western land though looks questionable, especially with no banks

da interesting part bout Mario Rainbow Castle's new item shop is in the great mario party fangame called Party Project, it had an item shop in a similar location in its n64 Mario Rainbow Castle, like the one in Jamboree, near the start 🤔 I guess Party Project surprisingly predicted Jamboree's Rainbow Castle item shop placement before Jamboree or Mario Rainbow Castle's Return in Jamboree even existed- another thing is, in MP1 Mario's Rainbow Castle is legit a fake 1 star difficulty cuz of how Bowser takes 40 coins away+how Brutal MP1 was in general, so in MP1 its basically legit 5 star difficulty. but Jamboree? Deff looks like it'll live up to the 1 star difficulty due to it being easier to move around in via items, compared to MP1's Random RNG "Item" Blocks (that would also prevent you from moving if a ? Brick Block or Warp Block Spawned on your turn)

I think the train ticket on western land allow you to choose which station the train will go to and the rainbow castle item will most likely cause bowser and toad swap places as you said.
