I've been an OG Shujinko fanboy since Deception. Thank you so much for the Tech, NO ONE uses him and I want all the goodies I can get. I'm loving the matchups. I myself was running Baraka and now trying Quan/Jinko. Good shit

Hey uncle dink, if you use smokes invisibility steal in the corner on a standing opponent you can use it to extend combos. For example if you're using liu kang and you hit confirm his f3 string in the corner, you can use the invisibility steal and go straight into b23 and it will combo for some beefy damage

@@WalkBesideMe It's that and the "This is effective, safe, and easy" mind set that is driven by Competitive environment. To sit and lab shit, you really gotta be committed, which most of the player base is not. The generation accustomed to instant gratification that came from other genre of game are not material for it.

Like you said about making reads. The Reiko parry steal is good for dash up,parry because Reikos love to throw out B3 to control space. Another good one is after the run cancel. Most Reikos D1 after the cancel to steal their turn back for your hesitation. Parry this for a full combo. I think Reiko steals are C, maybe B tier because of the tackle sideswitch. And counterpoke parries become full combos.

Shujinko is my main kameo with Raiden, who’s my main character. With him, I would move every character that gives a free launcher to S tier. Raiden can combo off of every launcher with F34(Except for Lui Kang, and with Li Mei it’s a tight window) or can use F22. He also lets you recharge Shujinko, because of amplified shocker, to get a second full kameo move in. This lets you use Geras’ time stop twice in a combo. For overhead steals, since he has F434, it’s easy to get the overhead off since most opponents are expecting a triple low. Overall, I think Shujinko works with Raiden the best. His combos are long enough for a full recharge, and the triple hitting low is really good with overheads. Also, since most opponents hit Shujinko while he’s charging, Raiden’s full screen electric fly and teleport allow you to call Shujinko and switch to the other side of the map instantly for a full recharge every time.

The only two reasons someone would pick Shujinko is to play with honor and not follow the meta OR if they really love the character… I’m reason number 2 😆 wish he was playable but this is the best imma get so fudge it

only thing i don’t like about shujinko is that he’s mu dependent, you have to know what he steals and how to apply it in a match making you have to think even more.. and mk players don’t like thinking

I use shujinko to close gaps in strings with Li Mei when ppl start wanting to poke. Are there better Kameos for this? Sure, but not as fun

Do you think a good buff to shujinko would be to remove his meditate charge up? Or would that be too much. Or just use the meditate to charge up the meter only.

Best part of the Sento steal is actually that it goes away for me, people try to D1 or D3 like their life depends on it so backdash into a long reaching or forward moving low can often times trade Sento for a combo out of pressure

@gooniest the problem with Shujinko is that in kombat league you never know who you are going to face and you can't change players mid set like they used to have in mk11 good thing they made it best of 3 instead of best of 5 like they initially had it when they first released it you were pretty much stuck in a bad matchup even though you know you could beat the opponent if you had a different player but you can change kameo which I guess makes it somewhat usable to change into shujinko after game 1 but you are already down 1 game and I don't see many you tubers play shujinko it seems he is unusable cause if his best asset is sento steal then you can only use him against Kenshi and there aren't many bad matchups against Kenshi from my experience just save meter for when he calls out sento and sento out of kombo is not that great its great when you kombo them into a corner and continue pressure I don't know just my 2 cents

Fun Fact I think shunjiko has secret moves. I’ve only found two for the DLC characters. He can steal 3 MOVES from Omni man. You just have to mash down input to get sky drop

Question....can you hold down the second kenshi steal move? When you play as kenshi that move runs through projectiles when held down. Just wondering! Great vid

I think Smoke has very good synergy with Shujinko. His strings are slow, his combos are long, and his combo enders have extended animations, giving him perfect amounts of time to build up the bar. Also, since F121+3 will launch at the same height no matter how deep into a combo, it makes it so You can reliably combo into many Shujinko steals, like doing Spear at the end of a juggle to cash in some more damage. Also, when stealing the invisibility from Smoke, you can link a string after it to extend combos on the ground. Both invisibility and a combo starter is good and makes up for the lackluster knife throw.
