The Yellowbrow boss actually has a lot of funny easter eggs. If you use your monkey army, he will turn them against you. If you use your fire ring, it'll turn to lightening and attack you instead. His gold plate armor is fake and also paint you if you are close. It can be broken with a 3 or 4 level hard attack.

For yellowbrow and the stone frog (maybe) if you use charge heavy attacks you break the gold and he staggers and you can hit him. Also if you use the "binding" spell instead of mobilzaze he purposfully reduces his moveset out of respect of something like that. I know you said you are not counting lore or even in game journales, but if you do a second run I would read the entries from that chapter because they really show you the evil of this guy and how much of a self-centered loser he is.

The great sage's broken shell boss fight really made an impact .. he is on of my favorite boss fights in all my gaming history Even though i struggled to beat him (took me about 3 hours) but i enjoyed every minute of it

Erlang was borderline frustrating with his regenerating guard bar and his interruptions when you’re trying to whittle it down; so as gimmicky as the follow up fight was, it was cathartic in a way. It’s enough to make me want to go back and learn Erlang’s fight. I agree with Numbers 2 & 1 though, those were top tier for me.

Respect the list, but man do I have things way differently than you. I think what it comes down to is how easily you beat something vs. how much you struggle. Interesting that we all have different experiences. One small example is Daoist Mi which I beat in like 5 seconds without taking damage. So F tier for me. Yellowbrow was super cool imo, tough attacks, counters your mana abilities (enemy monkeys was hilarious), took me a while to figure out how to break his gold form and gave me a hard time. A tier for me.

Ranking based on difficulty, that's the worst way you can do a boss ranking. Difficulty is important, but also boss moves, camera and build up is important

I loved all the 4 loong fights, final boss and Yaksha, Erlang, but i think my favorite goes to the Mantis, non-white or Whiteclad noble Edit: How do i forget Yin Tiger, Scorpion lord, Inspector, Tiger Vanguard. Man this games has some of the best bosses, amazing.

I usually see it on a basis of, how does the boss effect me on Patience level, Blood pressure and time to rethink on my sparks investment. So I kept, 1: Tiger Vanguard 2: Baby Monk 3: Erlang Reason: we met Baby monk at our early stage of figuring out the game. Tiger: we learnt that some enemies holds their attack Erlang: F U Erlang.

The Apramana Bat isn’t bugged, it is one of the many missable bosses. You have to approach the arena pretty much as soon as reach the nearest shrine to it and when Zhu Bajie becomes your companion. He has to be with you!

Good list overall My top 3 is Erlang- The broken shell- yellow long( was the boss that killed me the most but it just felt so enjoyable to learn his moves and go against him over and over- same with Erlang

I feel like this game had a pretty tough act to follow... Shadow of the Erdtree. I'm pretty positive it won't be competing for GOTY since it's a dlc rather than an actual game but as a player who absolutely adored SOTE and Elden Ring as a whole, having completed all seven of the Souls Series and tending to be very critical to bosses of other franchises due to my bias, Black Myth was an incredibly pleasant surprise. Spoiler warning though I think most people watching this video have already completed the game or don't care about the spoilers. Despite having some very noticable stinkers, Bkack Myth might as well reach some of the highest highs in any game I've ever played. Yaksha King, Yin Tiger, Yellow Loong, Kang Jin Loong, Yellow Wind Sage, Kang Jin Star, Hundred Eyed Daoist Master, the Mantis, Erlang (my personal favourite) and the final boss are some of the most fun encounters I've ever experienced and even though they might not reach the legendary Fromsoftware standards for difficulty nor quality, it clearly establishes itself as an amazing boss rush. People keep thinking they can't damage the last frog fight when it goes into rock form. You can. I quickly found out by using cloud step and fully charged an attack that landed. Plus I had the perks to enhance the spell and it was very favorable. I was more frustrated with the gold armored rhino.

@@Nygassso Erlang was the first time I actually relied on medicines because that damage counts. I found success by using a spellbinder crit build, but I would use windtamer at the start to bring his initial shield down, THEN use spellbinder immediately while he’s getting smacked by wind, and then combo off as much as you can before he attacks again. That strat will almost give you a quarter of health lead on him in the beginning. 💯

For me 1. Erlang . That health bar and his defense is no joke. Plus his delayed attacks . My controller survived barely 2. Stone monkey/broken shell bcz he has 4 phases . That fire stone monkey uses delayed groud effect slams which drain health . 3. Mantis . Once that health bar goes to half . He goes berserk . How fast is he ? That guy can really mess anyone up . He could fight malenia and win with that combo 4. Yaksha king . That 5 hit combo 😠 😡 😤 those timings are criminal 5. Yin tiger . He should be no 3 but on higher levels he gets easier. Those attacks and that 13 hit combo is no joke . His more is more devastating then the water fall dance. 6. 100 eyed daoist , this guy is master of not getting hit . That domain expansion hits and you hold on for dear life . I added more difficulty for myself when i fought him WITHOUT WEAVER 🪡 7. He would be no 3 if he had more HP . Those combos are meant to hurt you. 😅 ..got him in 3 attempts but only bcz i had the "see no evil accessory" 8. Yellow loong . He should be no 2 . This guy is so refined is amazing how good his moves are . Smooth operator . I loved every second he kicked me around . Those moves are difficult yes but truly beautiful. Had to cheese him sadly 9. Zhu ba jie . It's not he's difficult , it's that we cant dodge him in the mud 10. Bishui beast . STOP MOVING , I CANT SEE ANYTHING

Some of these picks are in super weird places, especially since you said you're placing purely on the actual fight and not set dressing/character lore. Tiger Vanguard combat wise is one of the most fun fights in the game but for some reason was lower than Black Wind King and Kang-Jin Loong??? Combat with both of those bosses is super aggravating and tedious because of the lack of an ability to hit them. Black Wind King disappears for half the fight and Kang-Jin Loong is impossible to hit because its 60 meters above you.

I think Yin Tiger and Tiger Vanguard is S tier and black loong and kang-jin should move down, my opinion though. Yellowbrow fight was harder then Hundred eye daoist, I cleared first time, might have been lucky but that fight wasnt hard. Again I feel Wandering Wight was strong, just the fact that it was one of the first few bosses as you still learning. Most others was fine...

Hundred eyed ...... boss gived my some troubles because of my staff that dealt only 75 damage at level 150 I could beat him up to the face where everything turned yellow that I was killed every time than I farmed a bit and I gat the next update to the serpent staff and I made it mythic Than beat him 1 try when he made everything yellow I hit him with the pillar stance with 3 focus points and I trown him out of that stage than I he'd no problems beating him the 2 time I used the lava staff and with the yaucha I can't spell that name the red demon armor I beat him 1 try exoly all the bosses even yellow long the only 1 I can call the hardest boss for my because I hate to use pills was the scorpion king Damm that guy trully gived my troubles from keeping my poisoned the entire time and fast attacks with allot of damage even thogh he didn't have to much hp he could kill you really fast as well

Yellowbrow really isnt that bad, and you can play extremely agressive and not have a lot of down time. Pluck of many can get him out of his gold armor extremly quickly.

Yeah he's really not bad. My only criticism is that it isn't necessarily obvious that you can break his gold. After your staff bounces off him once or twice, you'd be forgiven for thinking you're just supposed to wait. I got lucky and just so happened to try and hit him with a triple charge as soon as he buffed, but as soon as I did I was like "I'm pretty sure I just saved myself a huge headache"

Rock solid would have been way better if it was the R1 button I never used that button to run so if rock solid was activated apon pressing it and allowing us to also use cloud step that would be awsome and I would use it way more often even if it costed us mâna until I press R2 and 🔺️ I prefer to just doge insted that's why I almost never used it exept if I'm out of Stamina and cloud step it's not really my thing but there are 2 parts of the game I can't pass whitout it and 1 more thing I really love and kind of hate how is that when we play as wokong we can use Rocksolid as a spel but when we doge we go into cloudstep that's great why dosent the destined one do that as well and also wokong can use all the spels I he'd to stop using immobilization for ring of fire

You didn't learn the game yet and you foght them at the weak level I beat yellow brown at level 130 with the damit I forgat its name the staf under 2 serpent staff And the bigger your level the stronger they get to be a chalange don't have a good staff and it's a pure pain to beat them but I learned them all way better than most people for example you didn't mention if you use 3 focus points you can trow him off the gold stage or if you summon your clones you will regret it or if you use the ring of fire he can use it against you I was impressed how many spels of ours he can turn against us

I'm actually not the only one who feels this way about this game because of that shield of his... I have beaten all bosses in the game cept him. Beat all souls games as well, and never hated a boss so much in my life,. I also HATE when people play that, "Oh you gotta be worthy to play this game", card. He needs nerfed so the rest of us can finish the damn game with the sixth relic... Simple as that... There are over 100 bosses in the game, nerfing one boss that desperately needs it isn't going to mess jack sh** up. AND NO I DON'T MEAN UPDATE IN THE DLC, DLC AFTER UPDATE IS WHAT WE NEED... Get rid of that lame shield, give him more health and defense or something, maybe no shield regeneration or something. Lots of people have actually put the game down because of this stupid boss.
