Excellent story, but damn, that's a grim ending 😢. But it's an ending that was fitting to the narrative. 😊

If humans PLANNED to use power cores as a weapon, than we would build unmanned vehicles to deliver them. Hell, we'd program an AI with a death wish to pilot them... This is why AI stories suck. They. Aren't. Human.

I was enjoying this story until the author wrote that the Earth fleet deployed rust and sonic weapons. Unfortunately, rust is iron oxide. There is no oxygen in space, so it would be ineffective. Ah well. Also, sonic weapons will not work in space either. There has to be some kind of atmosphere, regardless of its composition. Could be liquid, even, but there has to be a medium for sonic waves to work. Space isn't completely empty, but there isn't enough matter to broadcast a sonic weapon. Sorry to bust the bubble, but details like that matter!
