Beating former champion Jan Blachowicz who went to a draw in a vacant title fight, beat Jiri who never lost his vacated belt, same with Hill. Ankalaev only accepts fights in Abu Dabhi. Calling Pereira a ducker, who defended his belt 4 times in a year, short notice 2 times (saving doomed cards) is just insanity. He is the most active champion on the roster, Ankalaev refused the fight which is why he fought roundtree in the first place.

Idk me and many people think ankleav beat Jan but still he beat just about everyone good ourside the top 5 and only reason he hasn’t got top 5 wins is because he was never given the opportunity. I don’t like ankleav but straight up denying him is just dumb. Gloved Teixeira turned down a fight with him. Hill and jiri have been injured for a year until they came back for their well deserved title shits. Ankleav just hasn’t been given the opportunity to fight them 🤷‍♂️

After Jones beat Gane, no one was thinking about Aspinall. No one had a huge problem with the Stipe fight. Once Jon got hurt and it was clear he would be out for a year the UFC should have stripped him but they didn’t. It would be crazy to not stripe him and then change the opponent. Tom should have fought Stipe but man no one is mad at Stipe and I don’t know why

When Jones came into the division, #1 was Gane and #2 was Stipe. He beat Gane then signed to fight Stipe. Tom was coming off of a L and inury, wasn't even a top 5 fighter. NO ONE was talking about Jones fighting Tom when he signed to fight Stipe Can't duck someone when you're literally signed to fight someone else, who was higher ranked than the new challenger too. I really think the role of the UFC in many of these cases needs to be discussed more. They have shown over and over that they push and stall these big fights to happen on their terms and create narratives that harm or help fighter depending on what they need. The Nico case comes to mind with Valentina saying she had three training camps and Nico rushing through injuries and claiming no bout agreements. I do think Nico was ducking but i think both her and Valentina were telling the truth.
