When you see the soldiers get released into the water, you can also see some soldiers at the front of the airship fall in too. I never understood that. Why did they fall in? And why were they there? Did they not care about the special birthday?

IMHO, Combustion Man intercepting the messenger hawk has to be one of the luckiest things that could’ve happened. I mean, it was technically a significant improvement from that letter ending up in the Fire Lord’s grubby mits, because he otherwise would’ve learned Aang was alive and they would’ve lost the element of surprise just like Toph warned him he would’ve

I feel like the fire nation should be the weakest out of the 3 others. Airbenders should be able to suffocate you or bend the air in your lungs to make them pop. Metalbenders should be able to should be able to bend the metals in the body. Waterbenders should be able to bend water in the body.

All of these techniques require extreme mastery of respective bending, the same way lightning and combustion does. How many airbenders are of similar capability as Gyatso are, waterbenders such as Yakone or Katara, earthbenders as Toph? Even if they are able to, they are much weaker and slower than benders which had attained complete control. Azula is a far mightier lightning bender than the ones in republic city, none are able to redirect it as Iroh, Zuko, Aang did. These are simple instances, all of then are even in strength if I were to say so myself. If other benders performed feats you listed, then firebenders should be able to lit people or the surroundings ablaze with their own temperature
