Fun Trivia: "Slapstick" was so dubbed in the era of silent shorts, when such films would be accompanied by live music (anything from a single pianist to a full orchestra) and, sometimes, by foley (sound effect) performers. I believe they are 2 separate things. Black humor is more tasteful and tries to lighten the mood, when dark humor is strictly trying to be offensive. The best joke I've ever heard was only funny to me because I misunderstood it as a child: "Why can't penguins fly? Because they are chocolate biscuits." I thought the joke was in the non-sequitur. It was hysterical to my 6- or 7-year-old self (ok fine maybe to my current self as well) that such an obviously untrue fact was given as the reason for penguins' lack of flight😅. Pure silliness! Anti-humour gets me every single time. The jokes make absolutely no sense and you mostly laugh at how stupid and absurd the context is: "I always keep a £5 bill in my right shoe for emergency purposes. It took a while, but I finally found myself in a pickle and needed to use the £5. When I pulled it out of my sock, it was completely blank - friction and sweat had wiped it clean! The cashier couldn't accept it." 😂🤣

I was looking forward to my favorite type of commedy, but I don't know if this is a thing. I always called my humor "Situational Humor" where the joke comes from someone's self awareness of not only themselves but others around them and being able to predict when something will happen. A common gag like this was in Disney series where the character is like "Just watch, I'll walk in the door and she'll be like "Hi honey, you look tired." And as soon as they walk through the door, the person in question says the exact thing as predicted in the exact same pattern of speech to emphasis the familiarity the character had from this situation happening over and over again. Another example: stepping out of the way for something to happen right where they originally stood without seeing the danger coming.

Most people on the internet really have no knowledge of what black humor really is. Every time I watch meme vids or liotterally anything on YT, somebody is going to make a sexual/racist/seriously messed up joke about univerally ANYTHING they saw in the video.
