I've personally met the guy who runs the Turntable Store and found he is the absolute NICEST Person on this Earth. He sold me on those 2 HUGE Dulany SC-IV speaker's Lenny shows in the video. The nice gentleman you saw who runs the store brought them to me. Wonderful man salt of the Earth.

Wow brings back great memories. 2:00 I still have a Marantz 2238B receiver that I bought new back in ‘79 or ‘80. Had the box and wooden case up along with a United Audio turntable and Altec-Lansing speakers. 5:52 I have that same Realistic EQ that I bought new back sometime in the’80s. Wish I had a time machine lol

The Turntable in Manheim PA is the best. I’ve bought a lot of gear from Max. Great guy, great staff.
So nice seeing Max from the Turntable store. After seeing a listing on Reverb I drove the 1.5 hrs to Manheim and was totally charmed by the visit. The specialty retail experience is all but hollowed out and I miss it - the professionalism, beautiful products, and candid conversation among enthusiasts .. all pushed aside by synthetic corporate franchises and the internet. That morning I walked out with a fine little Beomaster and the reminisce of how quality shopping and browsing should be.

The receiver or the 901s that you talk about had the spatial unit built in the receiver and the EQ. This was for the back 8 drivers to balance inward or outward, and only the Series III and IV 901 speakers had this. There were two types of Bose Receivers, the Bose 550 at 40 watts 8 ohms and the other was the Bose 551 at 100 watts at 8 ohms. The Receiver itself was specially designed for the 901 and only those two series.

Tandberg is nice! Here in Norway they are pretty popular. The TR2045 is good, but not the most sought after. No RCA connections only 5pin DIN. Other then that i think it is realy nice (same as the 2060). The looks are perfect and good power with 45W per cannel (8ohm). The most popular items is the TR1000 series, TR2055, 2075, 2075mkii and the TR2080. The Huldra 8, 10 and 12 is also realy nice. There is more, but i think those I mentioned is kind of the best from Tandberg.

Hey Lenny, I’m new to your channel. My name is Mike. I’m a military veteran and I have a slight stereo addiction that I got when I was in Germany and I’m 60 years old. I’ve had this addiction for a while. I seen some of your videos and I watch every video that you have. I’m a hi-fi head. Don’t have a lot of money for the top and stuff can’t afford that but I call a Lo-Fis system. that’s what I have anyway I didn’t know anything about Mortz TV. I live in Pennsylvania in Warminster maybe a 30 minute ride from there. I have an old Heath kit AR 1429 and the bulbs in there for illumination, 1:49 Are 24 V bulbs. I didn’t know that until I went to Mortz and asked him if he had any at first he said no and I was looking around the store dreaming for about 10 minutes and then he came out of the back and he said hey I have six of those bulbs I’ll sell them to you for two dollars apiece so I took them and put them in my stereo. Everything’s doing good. Great shop thank you very much for your channel. You’re a great dude keep up the good work.

Interesting that you mentioned you never know what's in those furniture style speakers at 47:54 - Those were a pair of KLH Model 23's without the badges, which are some well regarded speakers from the early 70's, and a speaker I have had the pleasure of finding. They sound fantastic, surprising bass response and warm midrange, very fun to listen to.

If you want to step up in quality with a Intergrated Amp and Receiver! In my opinion the best out there is a Pioneer SA-9500 amp and matching TX-9500 Tuner! Plenty of Power and Sound Quality I’ll match against anything ! I’ve worked on these for 50 years and the Components used are Top Notch ! I personally have this set up that is totally original except for aligning the Tuner and replacing the original bulbs - as far as the amp everything is totally original including the light bulbs ! The Filter Caps are all within spec ! This was sold new in 1975! How could you do better than this ? I purchased a total parts rebuild kit for both units and it’s just sitting in the boxes on the shelf! I think there are many that will agree with me ?
