This is one of my favorite videos. Period. I've rewatched it over the years and it still holds up. I've been thinking & I think that any of the ones that were said that got stuck - the steak knife for example - may be possible. If you cut a wider hole like done with the turbo plane, you'd be able to fit the blade further into the 2x4, and you might eventually cut it. The way to cut anything is to make a wide enough cut.

Actually, you probably can cut a 2 by 4 with a Dremel. You need a cutting bit. They sell one. It looks kinda like a drill bit, but it is actually for lateral movement. It allows for non-straight cuts. (Also works for enlarging a hole when you don't have an actual drill and the Dremel drill bits are to thin.)

Great video, Louis! Handsaw is definitely my preferred method. When it's good and sharp it is almost effortless, and only a little slower than some power saws. I also like it because it's relatively quiet. Another terrible way to do it would be with a mallet and chisel. Also other chopping devices, e.g., machete, kukri, broadsword. Fire, though, was historically (or prehistorically) a pretty important way of cutting logs. When the other option is a stone axe, using fire is pretty attractive.

@@Weisz it's similar to a chisel, but have you tried a splitting wedge and a sledge hammer? The fastest way is to make three punctures on the wide side. Also a sledge ax would probably work if you have the muscle to swing it/ some experience with a ax or hatchet- cut once at a 45 angle then once at a straight angle, removing a triangle shaped chunk of wood, you can cut a 2x4 in about 3 minutes with that technique ( if I figure out the technical name for sledge axe I'll edit it in)

Hello. Thank you for your lovely video and time for filming this video, but I am not here for the purpose on commenting. I'm here to ask for an addition, if you're mentioning the use of resistance wood burning in the future. This type of wood burning conducts a voltage worth of 2000 volts. That type of electric circuit would kill any living being, that even slightly touches anything, that could have electric charges in it from the actual kit itself. It's actually so powerful, that a person would die before they even hit the floor. Thank you for reading, and I hope you add that warning in the future to not attempt that action at home, as any mistake is deadly. Lovely video, and lots of support from Bulgaria!

Like I said, I've only seen those chain wrapped disks compatible with angle grinders used for ice or wood sculpting irl. except of course on KZbin where dudes will upload a video wondering why its so bad at cutting 2x4s.

Sawzall are EPIC! I once cut apart a VW Golf... My friends and I removed as much weight as possible from the car, essentially everything but the drivers seat, steering wheel, etc, then sawzall'd the rest off. it had no roof, windshield, or doors. I think we ended up taking around 750 lbs off. We then jumped it over some train tracks by my house, with one of my more insane friends driving. Good times... Anyways, I loved the video, and if you ever need anything shot with a gun for testing, I'm equipped with a 9mm, .45, .223, .308, and 12 ga, along with a 4k camera and 40 acres of unincorporated land. I'm out in Chico, Ca, and would love to help!
