For future reference, nichrome wire can be found nicely coiled up inside domestic plug-in fan heaters. You can easily stretch the wire straight. You can buy a cheap one instore for much less than $50 or use an old one. (Toasters also contain nichrome but it is no good because it is in flat ribbons and it won't cut foam very well.)
