They are probably used to music (I use the term in the loosest possible manner) that they can't actually HEAR, just feel the vibration through their body from the high volume and low frequency bass beat. The first time I heard this instrument was from a street performer. I recorded it and I listened to it whenever I wanted a relaxing sound. It took me a while to find the name of the instrument to be able to listen to it again properly. I made it a reality. We bought a MusicMakers kit to build a 17/16 and I am so happy I have natural musical ability. I'm picking it up quickly and am working on perfecting The Sound of Silence and a few Christmas songs. My cat, Oreo, is particularly fond of it and will often chortle happily while I"m playing. It took us a weekend to make - we started on Thursday night and were finished by Sunday afternooon. It took 4 hours to string and tune!!!! It's got a great sound! Ted is my inspiration!
