the thing about the battery has been a common myth in phones for a while and the same applies to the quest. batteries in phones and electronic devices have protective measures that shut off the battery and dont let it over charge. dont worry about how long you charge your phone OR quest 2 :)

The actual Quest 2 charger stops at about 80%. If you use a different charger, it will charge to 100%, but it will stop charging there.

I didnt know about the taking the cord out thing until too late, now my quest 2 gets only like an hour and a half of playtime unless I use battery pack but this advice definitely is going to help for when I get questt 3

I have had my quest for 3 years, had to factory reset it 2 times so far. Good video though. Maybe add only sideload trusted apps as there may be malware that will destroy your quest and fast charging (like using a laptop charger) isn't the best. Also, I once got the "No Command" Android error on my quest, strange as I didn't mess with the bootloader

No one tells you to buy a microfiber cloth, use that as a lens cover for $2. I buy a big pack and stuff it against the lenses. Then I cycle that one out as a cleaning cloth and put a new one in the quest.

a phones battery life doesnt actually get worse if you charge it to full battery. most devices (such as phones and laptops) have devices that prevent battery damage to happen (usually by ceasing the charging) when charging for long periods of time, the problem instead is that the Quest 2 lacks these devices, making them prone to battery damage

Facts , I charge my I phone , MacBook Pro and meta quest to 100% and never had a problem. My meta quest 2 is 3 years old and I gave it to my little sister still get over 2 hours from a full charge with a battery bank 7 hours plus. 😊

He's wrong. You shouldn't over charge but you shouldn't under charge either. Running it down to 10% is fine you just don't want to drain it consistently.

Everything does, but batteries go bad after being recharged 400 times. That is why iPhone batteries die so fast after a year. He is probably right

The way mine gets killed is playing gorilla tag in a bit to small room and not using wrist straps. (My walls are mad)-(Also I started using wrist straps) :)

The link cable can charge faster than you use it. Unless you have a low power type C slot. I bought a PCIE USB card and it wasn’t enough. Got a new motherboard with a 20g/s high powered port right on the board and have zero issues. The meta 2 on the other hand, sucks really bad!! For the price its worth it though but if it doesnt last for a few years then I wouldn’t get it. The meta 3 is coming out in a month. Prices would probably drop on the meta 2 but if its your first VR and you want to play games like DCS then maybe buy a better one.

The battery is never charged to 100 and never discharged to §, because an electronic monitor monitors how long it can be charged and how long it can be discharged, which was determined by engineers for the best performance! You can safely leave it on the charger, the electronics know that it has been properly charged and will turn off the charging when it is no longer needed!

If you charge it till 100 % you will hurt the battery capacity. Say like a quest 2 has 2 hours of life in a charge. If you charge it to full it will hurt the battery so next time you do a charge you will have 1 hour 50 minutes and if you do it to much it could half the battery life to. 1 hour

the point about charging is actually false. The charger has overcurrent protection. The reason why the quest heats up when charging is because of how energy stores into the battery. a lot of electricity becomes heat. it will not heat up when it reaches 100%. Lots of people keep parroting this myth for a long time now, even if the issue was already fixed a long time ago. your fine just leaving your quest pugged in. whats worse is when you leave your quest to drain to 0%
