ATactical A1S VS. Fenix PD35TAC Head-to-Head: 1000 Lumens, Who Wins?

I work for LAPD and I bought the AS1 to EDC on duty as a lighter backup light and its been two months, works great! No issues after dropping and rolling around on the ground trying to secure a suspect. One time after hitting the sidewalk, it wouldn't turn on but after inspecting the flashlight, I found the battery cap had worked lose. After screwing it down tight, flashlight still performs great! I carry a portable battery charger in my work bag if I need to charge the USB battery.

I recently bought one of the A1S and I really do love that flashlight I just wish they would give you an option of buying a second battery the same type through them.

Looks like the fenix light is a cooler white than the a1s. Or did you buy the neutral white light for the a1s?

I work shift work at a plant and use my Atactical A-1 every single night. I have the 550 lumen version and brought it to work to test it out and I can tell you that thing has held up to every weather condition, drops onto concrete and iron grating from up to 10 or more feet, and just being used every night mostly on high setting. I really cant believe it has held up this long for 20 bucks with zero failures. If it took CR123a batteries as well as the 18650 it would be the end all be all of budget lights.

great video ! I own 4 different Fenix flashlights the Tac PD35 is one of them , they're all great and haven't had any problems with any of them I typically EDC the Fenix RC05 because of its small size and descent lumen output ! As far as the A Tactical lights I've purchased 4 of the A1 models with 550 lumens and stuffed th into different kits I use for hunting , fishing etc ! The A1 Tactical lights IMO are probably the best lights for the money and I haven't had any issues with any of the 4 I've purchased I carried one for about a month as an EDC just to see how durable it was and had no issues ran great ! I plan on trying one if the A1S models for the $30 I'm sure it'll be a good purchase 1150 lumens with a rechargeable 18650 battery + cable us an awesome deal ! Thanks for the review 👍🏻🇺🇸⚔🛡✌🏻!

I have bought 5 of these bad boys... carry them in the truck, my work bag, range bag, etc. I even have one mounted on my AR as a weapon light. Ran 150 rounds through it... some rapid fire... and it still works flawlessly. Another has been dropped, run over, etc. and still kicking. At 30 bucks... I'll stick with it!

I have both the ATactical A1 and A1S. Love them both. While I don't have the Tac version of the Fenix, I do have an older PD35. One thing I'll say for Fenix... their Strobe is crazy effective as a deterrent... more so I'd say than many others. As Freddie Dorris commented, I too plan on getting several A-Tactical lights to give as gifts.

I've carried a PD30 for 10 years. I've finally abused it enough to knock the little dome lens off of the LED. Still waiting to hear if that can be fixed. I was all set to get a PD35TAC until I saw this. The A1S looks like it will do everything I was and I liked having the SOS feature.(like my PD30 had)

Thanks for the video comparison. Recommend that you be more specific about charging the 18650 using the USB charging cable. Instead of "plug it into the wall" mention using a 5V phone wall charger will work OK. Be sure to remove it as soon as charging is complete. Don't leave it on the charger all night. Thanks

I have had the A1 version for several months and the light is fine. I don't abuse my equipment but I am certainly not easy going it either; but had no issues with A1 which was about 19.99. I am adding the A1s and at 29.99 you can not go wrong. Fenix makes some great products but the simplicity of A1s at little over 1000 lumens is fine for me. But someone else may prefer all the different modes of the Fenix. Thank you for another great review.

Hey Tim, how's it going? I have both the Atactical A1 & A1s . Both work flawlessly. I really like that they are affiliated with Thrunite. I have several Thrunite's also. For the price they are well worth it. Gonna pick up a few more for gifts. Great review as always

In other words if you want a flash light for defense usage the fenix is definitely the better option If you want something for camping and roadside emergency ATactical is the way to go. The big question is how many charge cycles is that battery good for? After its recharged does it still put out the same quality power. ALSO BIG ONE... Which flashlight overheats fastest on the turbo setting. Is the ATactical a waterproof life to be used in storms? That would be my main concern. People check the description for this light dont go to amazon and type in Atactical A1S youll end up with a Wowtec version read his description for some reason thought its gone down in place I guess cause its been a year. Its only 19.00 now. Wait my bad his link is pointing to the 550 Lumen. Nevermind type in Atactical lol.

Right out of the box I thought the A1s was DOA. Then it lit when I held the end button but would not stay lit. Gradually it came around and its memory kicked in and it behaved. Nice flashlight for the money.

I have the Fenix UC35 and love it. But hey, if I knew the Atac was out there, I would have bought 1 and 1 as a back up. I mean, hey, 30 bucks is 30 bucks!

Purchased 2 ATactical A1's from Amazon. 1 was bad out of box, and 1 lasted 2 months then shit the bed. I am done with the "highly reviewed" budget crap. Fenix here I come.
