I'd say Hardware Unboxed still makes the most easy to understand graphs in the entire industry. I don't know why everyone doesn't just copy them outright it's really the most obvious way to showcase the data. I found the lack of AMD cards in the graphs to be unacceptable. Talking about used pricing and not actually going on to Newegg to compare new to new. I don't mind the mentioning of used prices, but you should also compare new to new. That makes more sense to me. Also no mention of MSRP for the 6600, and he's just wrong about the 4070 being the fastest card for $600. It isn't. 6950 XT wipes the floor with the 4070.

I don't understand why people are complaining that they can't play the latest aaa games at 1440p max settings and get atleast 60 fps on a sub $300 gpu, a good 1440p monitor almost costs that much and really you shouldn't be spending more on a monitor then your gpu costs, the 7600 is a very entry level 1080p card, and would be better compared to the 4060 than the 4060 ti as they price difference between the 4060ti and 7600 is almost $200.

I believe that Nvidia has inentionally gimped the xx60 / xx60Ti series to boost sales of their higher-priced models. They probably realised that if the cards offered 3080 / 3080Ti performance (3060Ti is more or less on 2080 Super level), nobody would go for high-end models due to price and the fact that graphics hasn't advanced enough.

The 7600 is cheaper than the 6600 when it released (6600 released at 329, 7600 is 269), and the 7600 beats it in every way, sometimes even beating out the 6600XT. Sure the launch was messy, but there's no denying that the card at the pricepoint is better then wat was released last year.

Feels surreal to live through the reality that "Moore's law is dead" described years ago, probably during the RTX2000 era. I had forgotten the context, but he talked about how NVIDIA and AMD planned to shape the market in which only the flagships offer improvement in value vs performance, send midrange to history, turning that market into buying older gen or used high end cards just like how iPhone only occasionally release midrange options while hiking the top end device price every generation. The lower end card would share the same chips with the laptop. The 6500XT is the prime example. My theory is that perhaps they planned to streamline their product stack by binning productivity chips to produce high end series, which would then trickle down to gaming market. It could only work because it benefits both competitors, which it might do for both NVIDIA and AMD hence AMD following exactly the NVIDIA value curve.

Moore's law is NOT dead. Moore's law says that **transistor counts** will double roughly every 18 months, it does not say that performance will double. It has more or less held, in fact 40xx series has added more transistors than moore says this year with their obscenely huge dies. The problem is what did they spend those transistors on? AI, RT, compute, and not gaming graphics. Nearly HALF of the 4090's die is non-graphics related now.

What more can be said? An honest and sober look at what "entry level" looks like in 2023. If you look at the design of these boards, VRM layout, parts count, simplicity of the boards, these new $280 or $400 cards have the kind of stripped down design (bus width etc) of sub $100 cards from just 10 years ago. I will be disappointed if AMD doesn't do something worthwhile around the 7800 mark, but at the lower end, how much can you really expect? I'm not sure why the 7600 is being compared to the 4060ti here either?

Just to show how great 3000 series are. I wouldn't even go for 4000 series unless you have the money for it. The price increase for all these cards are unjustifiable. I got my EVGA 3080 years ago back when Evga didnt succumb to the gpu inflation. Its still going strong today and its going to be good for two generations.

I picked up an asus tuf 3080 oc couple years back and am definitely happy with it and dont see myself replacing it anytime soon.
