10 years piano lessons and 4 years of organ here. Most anyone can play a modern organ and make it sound from ok to good. But to play the piano well comes from the Soul. It is ALL YOU and the Piano. I was at a hospital doing a physical and this 90 year old man who could barely walk started playing a piano and he played everything from Joplin to Mozart flawlessly. It was like Yoda in a lightsaber battle. The greatest thing I ever saw.

I'll give you a genuine answer: Practice. Dedication and practice and the desire to genuinely master a skill. It's not "hard", it's just slow. I used to tell my music students "we're used to seeing a montage in a martial arts movie, like Be A Man in Mulan, but this is real life and we're doing it the slow way." Rush E actually isn't a hard piece, it's just fast. That doesn't mean it's not fun, it just makes it that much more accessible to people who want to learn to play it.

@@thecuntyone idk if it’s so much critical. But when it comes to music, they grew up in a time where you had a whole band performing on point, every single time. There were no computers to mix beats and auto tune voices. I think in a lot of ways they did have to work harder when it came to music. They couldn’t just log onto KZbin and watch millions of piano tutorials. My uncle was an amazing guitar player, and he was born in the late 60s. Even then, he would have to save money to buy sheet music. And it wasn’t cheap. And often there would be different songs you wanted that were in different volumes. He was young and couldn’t afford all the sheet music he wanted, so he taught himself to play songs by ear. Flash forward to me, being 28, I grew up being able to find almost all the sheet music I wanted for free, thanks to the internet. Without a doubt, he worked harder to learn than I did. And he technically wasn’t even a boomer. I think the older generations often feel unappreciated as well. It goes both ways. All generations have lots to offer though.
