Past call of duty maps were constructed to feel like actual spaces and as a result had more nuances, varying levels of cover, places to hide etc and it felt more varied and interesting. Maps now are just basically a box with computer panels and other boxes in place to use as cover, as he says, previously you could hide behind a car etc, the maps in new call of duty games almost feels like training exercises, every panel, every wall etc feels as though it’s exists purely for people to use in battle and that just removes any sense of disbelief, it’s hard to find a map interesting when everything in it is designed for conflict, it sounds stupid but the beauty of games like this is taking part in battles in spaces that are just ...there, Afghan, resistance and so on, they feel real. Now I will admit that Nuketown is an exception but because it was the only map on the game like that, people loved it because it stood out

But the problem with that is that once you get good at FPS games, the flaws in cods gameplay that essentially remove skill gaps become much more obvious and annoying. Maybe if you're bad... Personally, achieving that state of flow does happen when I'm shitting on people (obviously), but I can also get to that mindset when I'm losing and zoning in to win the game. Clutches like that, which can occur often based on skill, are very engaging and only make me want to play one more match. Certainly, you cannot turn every match but it gets very intense when trying to.

rawbfjpc How does it get more intense? Mostly every gun fight is who sees another first and puts in the first bullets. You do the same thing every time you spawn as there is only 3 lanes to go down and engage other players. No chokepoints, no variation, little to no map differentiation, symmetrical cover, etc. So the game has “flow” when you go try hard? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Keep using that shitty and over used argument that “you’re just bad.” If you think cod is intense and has flow than maybe you should play a game like Rainbow Six Siege. Who actually finds cod to be intense?

I think maybe theres a few games you can get involved with, if you put enough effort into it. I like how simple COD is. It does nothing but train your reaction time and twitch shooting. I remember less than a few months ago me and 5 friends played Dom on BO3 on PS4 and met another 6 man squad and we had 6v6s in a private server and got super competitive, and ofc there was some major trash talk. By the end we were all screaming call outs and working together at an actually somewhat decent level, even nade stacking certain positions (when you throw multiple nades from multiple people to ensure someone gets hit by them and dies) and even perfectly planning our S&D positions, I.E. having a sniper watch the middle lane and two ARs and an SMG watch the other two lanes, and then even having someone with the role of being the roamer, who just snuck around and tried to give us info and maybe get a few sneaky kills. You cant have nearly as much fun as that, but COD wouldnt be a good eSports game, because the moment you put money on it, it becomes too serious.

Call Of duty died after MW2 for me and was the last one I purchased. Haven't even played a COD's multiplayer or campaign since Black Ops 1.(excluding some zombies at my buddies) Call of Duty has always been an arcade shooter but was once grounded in a sense of realism and authenticity that made them feel like a war game. Now we get supers and classes based multiplayer that is chasing market trends. Its sad that games now are about either trying to make either gender feel inclusive(Battlefield 5) or copy competitors to just fill in checkboxes and its sad. One game I am looking forward to is Insurgency Sandstorm, now that game gives me the same feeling as the first time I played the original Modern Warfare.

Holy shit, Wings was spot on. I think the three lane styled maps seemed fun and balanced when all three CoD devs decided to starting making every map that way. Overall it lead to less bad maps but also less good maps, every map has been okay. But now, after having like 3 to 4 straight years of three lane maps and now a 5th year, I think this recent CoD formula is dying out. CoD has really gone downhill since they started trying to favor competitive players more. Most rumors for CoD 2019 are either MW4 or Ghosts 2, and if they go back to the asymmetrical maps the MW series and Ghosts had, I think it could revive the CoD franchise. I'll be very disappointed if we get a MW4/G2, and it's nothing but perfectly symmetrical, basic three lane maps. A MW4 with the three lane perfectly symmetrical maps will kill not only further dig a whole for the CoD franchise but kill the MW legacy as well. You're only as good as your last mistake.

Yes! Modern CODs all have these small basic 3 lane maps and it's frustrating. They're ok I guess, but never really special. Older COD maps in mw1 and 2 (and other CODs but mw2 especially) supported every playstyle, rewarded knowledge (like spots and routes), had verticality, and just have a amount of soul modern maps don't have. Like even the 3 lane old maps don't feel like it. Overgrown is technically a 3 lane map but the lanes are unique and massive, with one lane being a field (and granny's house, a barn, a shack, etc..), another a river, and a third a street. They were open and weren't literal tunnels like we see nowadays.

We got a little break on BO3, where you could use the wall running system, which honestly was sick. You could, if you knew what you were doing, create a fourth lane, or go under or over the rest of the map, allowing for some cool flanks. Me and a lot of my friends used to have competitions to see who could hit the best wallruns, and maybe follow it up with a quickscope or noscope with a sniper, just for fun. I hadnt had that much fun since BO2.

Honestly until we get a good ass cod im staying on bo3. Its just the best one to me. You fly around shoot people, snipe people and its just filled with action and fun. So yea bo3 is the best. Multiplayer that is

Honestly I was very disappointed by the Beta... This game literally reminds me of Infinite Warfare, not BO2 or BO3.... The Maps are terrible for boots on the ground

Question: why no1 bought Red Faction Guerrilla Remaster? It has fantasctic, unique, oldschool multiplayer that can be compared even to Halo 3. You do achieve flow in cod. Everytime you stay alive enough, you kill somebody, then another, then another. You are completely engaged, it’s almost like a dance. That’s why so many people play it. It’s easy to understand and give so much satisfaction when you don’t miss a shot, you move perfectly around the map and every piece is perfectly placed. Like tetris.

If you think about it... not many people are actually good at Call Of Duty. You talk to and guy you met out, or at work and they all think they’re amazing at COD. They are often times below a 1 KD. This isn’t this game of skill that in originally set out to be. It become much too big over the last 10 or 11 year. It can’t afford to be anything but extremely accessible or else it’ll lose its casual fanbase. See these are the dudes that don’t hang around in forums, Reddit, or watch much KZbin. Once you lose the casuals... they’re gone. They’re not going to be online expressing their opinion about the game. Activision knows this, that’s why they fill the game with all the cheap stuff to give the casuals a fighting chance to fool themselves into believing they are better at the game than they actually are. Hey it works, they sell billions. They got damn sure don’t want us in lobby killing kids so bad they put the game down before December. It is what it is.

Appealing to us R6S guys is not gonna work lol for example I've been playing R6 for 2 and a half years now (mostly because cod was on a decline and I enjoy search and destroy)but anyways after 3 seasons or 9 months I hit platinum rank and thought I was well educated on the game fast forward 2 years and now we're making new strats for maps we've been playing for YEARS that depth of the game and immense skill gap you have to climb in order to learn to go for 1 shot headshots with no aim assist and play against mouse and key and an operator who can block headshots or buff your accuracy and ads time in the heat of a tied 4-4 game with no time left in order to keep your Elo is something cod will NEVER be able to do.BUT they can make a casual game with forced game chat that you can fuck around on with friends,talk shit,watch the whole lobby try and impress some gamer girl or troll some squeakers THAT'S call of duty not this call of titanfall destiny overwatch rainbow six fortnite bullshit
