When you take a drug more regularly, you'll naturally build up a persistent tolerance to it, meaning that the effects you feel are lessened. Nothing will ever feel as good as that first hit, you're chasing the dragon. You've become desensitized and accustomed to this experience and it will never feel as overwhelming and pure as it did before.
@shstrng54747 жыл бұрын
You do also realise that there are younger kids now who ARE having those experiences you yearn for, because this game will be their first time. These games aren't for you, you need to let go and grow up. Find the next new thing.

SHSTRNG That's absolutely true what you said about how younger kids now are experiencing what we young adults yearn for. We miss the feelings of pure bliss when our friends were on MW2 and we were trash talking the other players, playing cops and robbers on terminal, spec ops... It is a lot like drugs. We want to feel the feelings we had when we first played the game. We are older and our personalities change, we have responsibilities, different hobbies now. I'm not as into gaming as I once was. Shit changes.

Was going to write something similiar. I can hear his age. He's pissed off at the "older" (30's) people for being established -- he isn't young and wants something new because throughout his life its been done to death (movies, games, stories). I had a moment with star wars like this guy and cod in my 20's in film schol -- I thought, fuck star wars, it's been done -- do something new that shit is whack and old, I have "new" ideas (I didn't, just didn't read enough books at the time) and everything before is nothing. Meh. You realize that everyone has had this same epiphany and you get over it. Star Wars is a thing. COD is a thing. In the world, making a mark (as I learned) is a nearly impossible so when something is accepted culturally: Call of Duty as it were, it will be there in perpetuity until it isn't -- I.E. Medal Of Honor. If I'm way off base, I apologize on some level, but I hear his anger, I empathize, but also know the guys working on the game (my age) are just trying to pay rent and COD is easy money.

Man, this video hits hard. We should create new memories to be nostalgic about ten years later instead of trying to relive the moments of your past. People want to relive the days where the squad hops on MW3/BO2 and play multiplayer and zombies every night after school... but that will never happen again. Those moments were amazing, but why would I want to relive them again? The reason they're special is because those moments are limited and you cannot recreate them, thus giving them value. Nostalgia is good once and every while, but create new experience and try different things to make your life fulfilling.
@Sketchy_27 жыл бұрын
Batman, this might be the best video you ever made. You really hit home hard for me and probably everyone who's watched this as well. I honestly could not believe why everyone hated Modern Warfare remastered so much when its pretty much the same game that everyone knew and love with a few added stuff but then I realized its cause these people are too blinded by nostalgia to admit that Cod 4 has aged badly and refuse to admit it so they just say its MWRs fault instead of the game that came before it. Also the message you sent near the end that you should cherish what you have now rather than clinging to the past hasn't been more true than now, I very well know that 5 years from now I'm gonna look back and say how much I missed the good times I had with Rainbow six siege and Persona 5 and when the time comes there's gonna be even more games that I'll end up being nostalgic for in 10 to 20 years. Cod will never be great again because in order for to be great you'd have to go back in time when you were a kid or a teenager and playing them for the very first time. People just have to accept the fact that its impossible to recapture those memories and move on to better games more worth their time
@journeykeen54717 жыл бұрын
RGM-79 GM People hate MWR? I wasn't aware, I find it really fun, although the changed net-code, Lag comp., and supply drops somewhat diminish its quality.
@Sketchy_27 жыл бұрын
Journey Keen supply drops is a complaint I can understand but I often hear people say the game is trash because M16, stopping power and juggernaut combo is overpowered which they're right but then when they say that the original is better than MWR even though its the same game just with supply drops it confuses me. People keep wanting cod to back to its roots but when they actually do people still complain that its not enough
@Sketchy_27 жыл бұрын
Journey Keen IMO MWR is a fine game it just hasn't aged well since its from a 10 year old game
@joshuawillis6027 жыл бұрын
RGM-79 GM so basically what you're saying is no matter what cod does people are gonna complain? Then that proves the problem is mostly the community rather than the developers.

This shit hit as hard as a truck, because it is the fucking truth... Now that I've heard it, I know it is. Trying to relive the same memories with the same people with a new game is impossible and I know it is, still I ache for the feeling of 25/12/11; jumping in MW3 domination on Mission, rocking the standard smg class which was the UMP45, i guess, not knowing what to do, but my friend helped me out, saying where the chokepoints were, where I had to look, aim for the head and shit like that. But that time is over and I need to accept that to make new memories even better as the last ones, enjoying every single game I play and broading my now cluttered view of gaming, by changing genre, going from RTS to RPG back to MMO. Encountering new people, going places and enjoying every damn minute of it, instead of longing for a time that won't return.

This is why I love titanfall 2, and this is why I'm pissed that it's never mentioned. Because it was released alongside IW/cod 4 remastered, which was a combo of nostalgic bullshit and shittily done innovation that's still going to sell because it's call of duty, and on the other side is BF1, which claimed to be innovative and it was for the most part, but it still only have one good new mode, operations, and even then it was decent at best, nowhere near the Innovation we needed. And then there was titanfall 2. The diamond in the rough. It tried to be boldly new and interesting, but it was beat into submission by the two franchise titans that were realesed within two weeks of it. This game, my favorite game of all time, had a diverse and emotional campaign that offered true difficulty without being entirely rage enducing, and the multiplayer was only crippled by it's unforgiving nature. Average people would play a few games, get shit on, and quit forever to go back to MWR and BF1 because they hate innovation. This man is right. Innovation is dead, and nostalgia killed it. P.s. I know that this will be lost in the comments, and even if it's not I know that few people will take the time to read it all, but I speak the truth. I'm not saying the game is flawless, I'm not bashing the other two, as I've had fun on both of them, but still, you get my point.

I believe we are the same age (born in -94) and this video hit me so deep and so hard. I was at the edge of my seat for the whole video. I played the shit out of black ops 1 and after that new cod games just did not feel as good as bo1 and I started to find reasons why. I realized that when black ops 1 came out I was miserable, I quit playing hockey, sucked at school and I didn't have a girlfriend but all day in high school I just waited to get to play black ops, that was highlight of my days. Since that game died, part of me died with it and I realized that I had grown. I didn't find what I was looking for in cod ww2 cause the thing I'm looking from cod is to get to live back with parents, not to have stress about money, working, studying etc. I want to go back to the days when I was enjoying cod but at the same time I don't want to. I have to move on as should cod. Thank you.

BO2 zombie with my ex was all i had in this time, when BO3 got announced i injured myself realy realy badly in the Gym and my lifetime dream died and i think the person i was back then died to. I treated everyone even my GF and my Parents realy bad. my life back then completly broke this video helped me a little to understand why i hated every CoD after bo2 so much, might give them in the next time all an honest try. How is it well done? How is dismissing the objectively busted net code CoD has had for years as "you just wish you were high with your tard-o friends again" and argument? How is dismissing the blatantly ameture level design, for which there are numerous good arguments for, as "lol you miss high school, huh" a deep philosophical point? Sure, nostalgia plays a role. But only a role. And it doesn't white wash all the bullshit in this series. If you are impressed by this then congratulations on being part of the problem.

"I think your channel is quite underrated." kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5evk4Z6rqmch9k I think this video (which is basically representative of what he does) kind of explains why he tends to be ignored. I want this guy to actually make sense but half the time he falls flat on his face and goes into why Trump sucks, or whatever's on his mind.

I still remember discovering Nacht at the end of WaW. The Nazi Zombies of old for me was good because it could be spun as this urban legend. Then it just gradually began bashing its head against the wall. Creating a plot with little resolution. I just realised the last cod game I enjoyed was Black Ops 2. The campaign was alright, mp had its moments and zombies was still fun. Although still wish we had Paris over Moon. I feel at that point, they wrote themselves into a corner

i was literally cheering the whole way through this video, you said things that honestly hit deep throught the video, i've never played cod, i dont know who you are, but what you said in this video is absolutely amazing, the nostalgia, of it all, that's what we want, it's not about the video game, it's truly about the bigger picture, its about your whole life, coming home from school thinking about playing with your friends, back then this seemed like somthing normal, boring even, but now, it's something amazing, something we all wish for, we all wish for something to drive us in life, a motive, but when we lack this motive at a certain point in life, we tend to look back at what we had, what we can never get back, and honestly the only way to get over this, is to move on, find a new game, or maybe quit gaming as a whole, do something new something exciting, something that makes you wake up in the morning and go, ''LET'S DO THIS'', i think that's the ultimate goal in life for us as human beings, we want something to keep us moving, because without that, we just end up a husk of our former selves, depressed and dull, waiting for the next big thing to drive us forward and excite us yet once again, in truth it all boils down to us wanting happiness. my thing... was fallout new vegas, that was my motive and drive back then, but now with fallout 4, a disappointment in my eyes, i felt so empty, where did it go wrong, was it the rpg elements, the dialogue wheel?, no, no it was the nostalgia that was missing, it was the drive, it was the excitement. my advice to you all, is to find something new that makes you feel excited and happy again, and that... is the real struggle in life, that is the pursuit of happiness. thank you my man, you gave me so much to think about, i will set this video as a benchmark for me, if i ever hit rock bottom again, and use nostalgia to escape, i will watch this video again. i dread the day where i will be nostalgic about this current time in life, because when that happens i will know that i've hit a deeper rock bottom.

Nostalgia is so poison. And chances are if nostalgia is that powerful on something it was probably escapism. I know it was for me, video games were the only thing that could bring everyone together after going to school.

Sure making new memories. But remembering old memories can be fun in some way. So yes. Make new memories but nostalgia is good too.
@AlleyKatPr07 жыл бұрын
We regress to the past, to escape the present and worry about the future, as we worry about whether our future comforting memories will exist, or not. The present is sacrificed daily, by dismissing it as something which is not as important as regressing or projecting. When we have brains that can imagine infinity, our subconscious will create terrors to chill our souls and pleasures to satiate our senses. This, is a deadly concoction of narrow perception, capable of distorting the emotional connection we have to events past, present and future. Be warned, you must be.

Just came to this video and its teaching me about the importance of relatability. If I could weave together thoughts and ideas like you do and then summarize them all in one song (like the way you referenced your childhood in this video and went more in depth in your latest why everyone is quitting their jobs video) I would be able to write music way more efficiently. You probably wont see this or reply, but watching your videos is helping me in a lot of ways right now, and I really need it. Keep making videos man you have talent.

You want something new? Rainbow Six Siege. A hidden gem amongst game after game of recycled trash - I recently was able to convince 4 different friends on 4 different occasions to buy it and now we roll as a squad but that was only after a friend convinced me to buy it, this game didn't become popular from its launch or its advertising, in fact, the game was pretty much dead after launch but the devs stuck with it and now we have the 6th most played game on steam. I got this game through word of mouth and it's awesome, I hope you do too BDobbins

I 100% agree with this video! I've been thinking the exact same thing about nostalgia and how I have so much of it but it's just ruining my time now and I'll be nostalgic of now in the future. And also how things sucked back then anyways, I just moved and I was fat and had no friends but I still remember staying up til 4am tryna beat the origins Easter egg on Skype with my friend who I now lived thousands of miles away from. And begging my dad to let me play nacht der untoten when I was even younger. Times sucked back then but I still miss them so much for some reason. The glory days of cod are over our glorious memories of playing black ops 1 or modern warfare are in the past, the best ways to recapture our memories is to try out new games rather than constantly trying to recapture the experience we had long ago and constantly end up disappointed. There are many better franchises today like battlefield or doom that provide better entertainment value, trying out new games is how gamers came across games they loved in the past like cod, what a game in order to be great is to be new

I liked the it and the fact that they did something fucking new for a change. Instead of being so fucking unorginal that they copied the shit out of Treyarch the last good cod devs copy and pasting the shit outta zombies and overall gameplay. Infinity ward while not as good as it used to be does still have talent Advance warfare's campaign and extinction mode proved it. Unlike fucking sledgehammer who has to copy EVERYONE and just so happens to released a generic ass game at the right time.

Nothing about the graphics mate. Play every fifa in a row one game on each and you'll feel the difference. Not see, feel it. The plays that are possible now were a dream two years ago. So many different pass types and calles presses that wernt here a year ago. The game is well changed every year. Wether its improved is subjective but it changes massively. In addition the transferes new form and stats as well as promoted/relegated clubs change. Pretty much vital for any real football fan.

I find myself looking forward to each of his uploads. The, close to, stream-of-consciousness razor sharp delivery is augmented by a tone that implies actual conviction\belief\passion as to what he is saying, alongside presentation of subjects that can begin with benign origin but soon become, effectively, a treatise on the subject or over-arching theme itself. It's a shame (and an indictment of slavish consumer society) that more people associated with the 'scene' of video games (playing, opening their vacuous pie-holes as so called 'reviewers', etc) do not have his integrity, regardless of their personal preferences.
