Great to hear that it's finally working. Quick workflow thing that might be good for your viewers: don't teach them to copy the footage a bunch of times when the could just use adjustment layers for the color correction etc.
@gregorzimmermann25144 жыл бұрын
Well, this is not correct. If you put an adjustment layer above, it will change all(!) layers below, as it uses the composite of all layers that are below.
@rudybertazzo3 жыл бұрын
It would make sense in a node-based workflow, but not in AE, since an adjustment layer will affect ALL layers below it, so in AE you have to duplicate the footage.

Do you notice some aliasing or fringing when you matte something this way? I have noticed it's not showing super clean edges.
@filmkaar-nitin3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your excellent tutorials. Using Cryptomatte gives a 1pixel white fringe in the AE layers. I have had to use Refine Hard Matte effect to remove them. Is there any other way to not get the edge errors while creating the Exroctane?

Hi there! thanks for the video! I have been using Cryptomattes since they became available to AE! As we all know, it does slow down everything until it caches! Very very slow... have anyone found any way to helps improve the speed when using it? So far in order to be able to work faster?

Has anyone been having an issue where the animation and the matte don't match up? Not only do they seemingly get out of sync, but the matte (EXR(Octane)) file is just flat out shorter by two frames than the animation itself. Maybe I'm doing something incorrectly, (I am new to Octane and Cryptomatte) but I don't see any extra checkboxes or anything like that.
@devenjameslangston5 жыл бұрын
sounds like it's a frame rate issue. C4D outputs whole frames at 30 or 24fps, and you might be importing your image sequence to AE at 29.97 or 23.976 fps. It's just enough different to slowly get out of sync. Hope that was it!
@KowProdMedia5 жыл бұрын
deven langston Nope, that’s not it. I was rendering at 24fps, and I was utilizing nulls so I just bring in the .aec file along with the EXR files. So, then I decided to just drag them in manually and still no dice 😕

@@KowProdMedia did you make sure that not only your output frame rate from C4D was 24 or 30, but do Ctrl+D to make sure the project world is also at matching framerate you want? Mismatching those two can cause issues when importing to AE or other compositors
@TheEpicAB5 жыл бұрын
Does this make render times with octane faster in general?
@Teheiron5 жыл бұрын
If You want to render masks, it's a game changer.
@thepixellab20115 жыл бұрын
It will speed up renders only if you were rendering masks. Rendering the masks takes a lot of extra time. If you're not rendering masks, this won't speed up the overall render.
