And this is why passengers need to be kind to cabin crew. We have no idea what's happening to them behind the scenes. That seamless elegance we see onboard has been put there for our comfort.

If a company or a personal relationship has no empathy BEWARE. You should never have to put up with undue stress or be afraid in your environment. It's abuse. They would have to change if no one put up with the narcissism behavior. Watch out for age discrimination as well. When people stay it sets their standard. You deserve good fitting shoes on top of everything else.

This was a great video. I particularly liked what you said about the employer isn't doing you a favor. I have seen so many comments at the end of videos like this one where people comment that the person should be grateful they have this job, or they should be honored they were chosen, and I find such statements pitiful. As you pointed out, it is a two-way street-you do the job the employer needs done, and the employer pays you for services rendered. The reason some of these airlines, especially the highly sought-after ones, are able to do the things they do is because they too, feel those chosen should be "grateful", and appreciation should be expressed by tolerating whatever is thrown your way. Again, well done, and I'm looking forward to seeing the other content you film for your channel.

Hello Michelle. Im so happy I came across a black girl you tube page whom I can relate to. I am busy doing my research between the middle east airlines. Im planning to come in as a flight attendent then build my way up. I love your non filtered truth on all your Emirates stories. It helps me to understand the reality behind the fairy tale life we outsiders see. At least I can go in knowing exactly what to expect and knowing what I'm going there for. Racism is real and horrible to experience. The way more than a few bosses explained it to me was basically people are more comfortable not seeing too many Blacks out front! My first job was a Burger King on an Army base. I begged to be allowed to run the cash register (I did it for my second job) but was told the girls out front were preferred! Fortunately someone got sick and I was finally allowed to prove myself. Those girls might have been cute but it turned out I was the only one that could count accurately!😅 Still it was awful that my color got confused with my worth!

A lot of the things that happen at Emirates would not fly here in America. (No pun intended). At my first airline during training a girl in the class behind me said the n word in the bathroom at a restaurant. My friend reported it and that girl was sent home immediately. We also have fatigue reports here but they're kind of useless. If you call in fatigue you're put on rest for twelve hours and they have a reserve take your place. You have to write a report and management determines if it's legit or not. If it's not then it counts as a missed trip. For a fatigue report to be approved it has to be company caused, for example there's construction in the hotel and you can't sleep. You can't call in fatigue if you have noisy upstairs neighbors. A lot of times most FAs and pilots don't even bother to call in fatigue because it can end up resulting in a missed trip. With sick calls in America you have to update crew scheduling every day and they may ask for a doctor's. They usually only ask for a doctor's note if it's on suspicious circumstances, such as calling in on Christmas.

I understand what you are saying about racism and your feelings are valid. But I don't understand why you would choose to work for an Arab airline. You are Kenyan and you already heard of all the horrific stories of what happening to African maids in those countries. This Arab country has ALWAYS been racist to black and brown people since the Arab -African slave trade. Slavery was only abolished in that country in 1962. So it's not shocking that they still view black people as "below them". Sorry but there is nothing shocking about what you are saying. Majority of black people already know about type of Arab racism.
