I actually thought the same thing leaving the theater when I saw this movie. That 10 years from now the kids who grew up with this movie are going to hold it up in the same regard that we hold up the original live action turtles movie. Let's face it, neither movies are works of art but they're both fun martial arts/action flicks. In fact I rather enjoy the new TMNT movie for the simple reason that it's not trying to be anything other than that.

Bluemagus at the end of the day tmnt is one of the weirder universes and our love for it cab be hard to understand, nothing about it is logical, so for fans to be so pissed off at Hollywood for tackling as ridiculous as a setup as tmnt is, aside from bay being bay it wasn't as bad as it could've been, actual care was put in to lots of areas

As a kid that grew up with this movie (i was born in 2010) i don’t like it as much as how millennials love the original live action ones because i just thought this movie is just pretty neat and i also think is one of the first things i have watched on a cinema so i guess that’s a plus

he did make a great point at the end about how this movie is for the next generation of kids to enjoy while they run around on the playground pretending to be their favorite ninja turtle. I love the oldies they will always hold a special place in my heart cause I got to see them when I was a kid, but I enjoyed this movie with my kids and they had the same kind of excitment I did when I saw the first movie back in the 90s, I still prefer the older movies myself cause nostalgia will do that to ya, but I still enjoyed this movie for what it was, a great action movie for kids.

You have an amazing channel on your hands, with a lot more dislikes than there should be. I guess there are people who think you're just copying CinemaSins, but honestly you've just borrowed the format, and literally everything else is your own style. You have your own jokes and own way of doing things, in addition to some really insightful commentary on these movies. Yeah, making fun of things is fun, but the way you give praise to some of these movies is really outstanding. As a fellow KZbinr, I applaud your hard work and creativity.

Yeah this channel is great. I've seen soooo many CinemaSin clones where they just copy all Jeremy's jokes like the "scene does not contain a lap dance" one I seen in some gaming sins knock of. It was just...so dry. CinemaSins jokes are funny but they are CinemaSin jokes. I do feel like some references on this channel would be hilarious though. And there HAS to be a crossover video at some point, it would be hilarious.

I... I actually want to watch this movie now. I didn't think anything would make me want to actually see it, but now I do. I have a whole new perspective on it. First chance I get, I'm going to watch it, and I'm going to do it with an open mind. And, yeah - what's with the Megan Fox hatred? She might never win an Oscar, but who cares? Much like Kristin Stewart, I think the real problem isn't the actress, it's the roles and direction. Would folks hate on Stewart so much if it weren't for Twilight? And has anyone really given Fox a chance since she was in Transformers? It's kind of like hating on George Clooney because he was in Batman & Robin... which I totally do, but I recognize it's unfair.
@CinemaWins
@CinemaWins 8 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Ben 'Batfleck' himself is the perfect example of that too. A guy that was the laughing stock of hollywood for a while and now he's headed to the top. If he manages to make a good standalone Batman film, I think everyone will forget he was even in Gigli. And then everyone will jump on his bandwagon and pretend like they always liked him until it reaches saturation and it comes back around to not liking him again because he's too mainstream now...Sometimes I hate our culture. Just like what you like, and don't be ashamed. I read the Twilight books and liked them. There, I said it. ;)

See, naming pets after them is cool. Kids have to live with that stuff for like, 90 years - always remembering that they were named after a character from a (great/passable/dumbass) book that was popular at a moment because Meme/Fad. I have a fried who named their kid Bellatrix - after the character from the Harry Potter books. Seriously - she named her kid after a sociopathic, sadistic, murder addict.

For her (and Stewart for that matter) it's that they are pretty dull actresses. They feel completely replaceable. Even in the main role they always feel like extras. Not every Actor/Actresses is Oscar Material and they don't need to be, but as an actor/actress they need to make the character feel like a character. That's where the problem comes in. Fox and Stewart(especially Stewart) tend to feel like they are reading from cuecards. Like they were picked up off the street and given a job. They give no personality to the character. That is why they aren't liked as actresses. I know this is going to sound like a comment based off their Gender, but they sound like porn actresses when they talk. No personality, no feelings just get to the shot. I don't know if you like rap, but there will be a time where a bad artist who is nothing more than a novelty is pushed hard. Featured in many songs, commercials even movies and Tv shows. You don't know why, because it isn't for their abilities. That is how I would describe Fox and Stewart(especially Stewart, because she is much worse. Like a wooden doll trying to act like a real person).

You know, the best part of the movie was the sibling dynamic. The way they interacted with their dumb fights (without the cool weapons) and their equally dumb quick resolutions as well as the knowledge that even though you will never admit it, you know your sibling cares about you and you care about them. As someone with siblings, I just couldn’t help smiling when they were together.

for me these are more than enough reasons to love the movie, but the best one is the fact that the core personalities of the 4 title characters haven't changed since the 80s and praise goes to their voice cast for reminding us who our favs are. Leo was still the stickler for the rules, Donnie the adorkable tech geek, Raph still needed anger management and Mikey was just a duude that loves pizza. I love it when a "remake" perfectly captures the spirit of the original characters.

What I love the most about tmnt as a whole is that toxic masculinity is a HUGE factor yet at the same time Splinter or Vern or even sometimes Casey are always the ones to guide the turtles away from doing some thing stupid. It's that people watch a movie a first time with their brain turned off most of the time. I did too, until I started going to movies with a more focused mindset. You start to hate a movie for the things they get glaringly wrong and people seem to ignore the great things in movies that are left to thought instead of being shoved in your face. Cinemawins shoves said great things in your face and makes you feel stupid for not noticing them when you watched the movie and generally changes your opinion on a movie.

I enjoyed this movie. I enjoyed the second movie. I would like to see a third. If you're expecting realism, don't watch a movie called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. here's the thing though: i'm in my 30's, grew up on the OG turtles cartoon, i even went to the Out of Their Shells music tour (don't judge me!), and yet my favorite iteration of the turtles is the current cartoon. it gives a nod to the history and previous movies and cartoons, but doesn't try to replicate them, it has quality storytelling, it has jokes for kids, but also jokes for the parents who grew up on the turtles and are now watching it with their kids, and it has a top-notch voice cast. this movie had none of that. it changed their background story so badly that it didn't make sense (they learned ninjitsu from reading a book?) the humor was the juvenile toilet humor of a 13 year-old playground bully, and it has Megan freaking Fox as April O'Neil. hell, i like her being a teen kunoichi in the new cartoon better than i like what they did with her in this movie.

Your video actually gave me new appreciation for this movie, probably to the point I'd like to own it. You're right, though. Our TMNT as a kid in the 80s was campy and cheesy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. This still has enough campiness and cheesiness to make me remember that not every reimagining is perfect, but it still has the heart and soul of what we loved about our original heroes in a half shell. My one and only real problem with this movie was how they learned Ninjutsu. I can kind of buy the turtles relying more on their shells for protection and damage but Splinter going head to head with a robot shredder? Thanks to a BOOK? Yeah,no, I call bullshit on that. I mean the cartoon I grew up with didnt make much sense with a rat somehow mimicking its master but at least it had the presence of an actual master. Here its less of a passing on the teachings and more a "hey this looks interesting lets dedicate our lives to this book." I may have missed something when I saw it, quite possible since I dont remember the flashbacks of them as kids or other scenes, but that just dampens the history of the turtles. Its an interesting take on it and I dont mind the genetic experiment route but hell I would have accepted April's dad leaving martial arts movies playing in front of the tanks. Increased development causing the frequent images to be imprinted into their brains? Sounds more believable than being kick ass from a single book. .... wait.... something just occurred to me. Is the reason the turtles are teenagers but Splinter is an old man because turtles live longer? therefor having a longer period of what could be considered childhood?

NO WAY, Donny's your favorite too?? :D Wicked sweet! ^3^ I'd definitely say this was the best iteration of Donny to date, as far as I know. Secret of the Ooze was a lot closer to getting his character right than the original 1990 movie was; seriously, Donny was a total waste of space and a disappointing blank slate in that one, how am I the only one who realizes this??

To be fair, anyone with a brain will know it is one of those movies that are purposefully bad. Trust me, it will have a lot of wins, and all of those wins will be how amazing of a job it did at being bad and making fun of movies as an art.

Go go Turtle power. -- From a lady who still recalls the Ninja rap. (Good grief) -- Thank you for putting together this channel. It's smart. We really liked TMNT 2, it's fun, go check it out. The turtles are awesome, Megan as April get the job done well (could use a few more yellow in her outfit and slightly shorter hair to increase the similitude tough) Stephen Amell his decent as Casey Jones, but I would have liked to see him fight some basic thugs in the street with his gear, to show how brutal he can be. He's a bit too clean and proper, but promised it would change in the sequel. My wife think they should have shown him shirtless at somepoint, I think the same about Megan personally, but the shcoolgirl outfit was nice.

The take at the end is something so many older TMNT fans need to have about rise, rise is fucking amazing and the movie would be awesome to see done for a vid here, but like it’s not made for the older gen, it’s to introduce it to new gen and change the turtles to fit current events like every version has done in some way.

Here theres so much positivity, and i love how at the end of each video theres a lesson, or some kind of moral to be taught. Hope Batman v Superman is done once it releases on bluray, loved the Man of Steel wins video, it really helps those who disliked it understand it better so maybe once they watch it again they appreciate it more.

Kenny Darmawan he's like that friend that you love but hate at the same time, like you love hanging out with him until he does that one thing you just can't stand. he can be a good director but gets caught up in his own tropes too much to the point they hurt his films, I love the first transformers movie, but the others I can only watch jn KZbin clips, if he had someone heavily countering certain choices he makes then his films would work far better then they do.

Few little notes here to hopefully help you with your channel: As an outside set of eyes and a long-time (and fairly thorough) watcher of Cinema Sins (without reaching "fan" status per say) I feel like the temptation to do the "big movies" in order to almost compete might not work well with your channel. This is a little more up the vein for which you should be aiming. Avengers, Cap Amer, Deadpool are all highly praised movies that take very little to defend and pull away from the real meat and challenge of your channel. I feel you should aim harder for things similar to your vids about Gigli, TMNT (2014), I, Robot, and Man of Steel. Those are the polarizing movies and really help your channel shine. Second, the intro, I understand the desire to mirror the intro of your name-sake, but the Ah--Ahhhh-AHHHHH tends to clash with the intro music used to show the title of the movies you're going to be covering and can be unpleasant to the ear. That's why C-S uses the thumping sound, it mixes will with anything without adding or subtracting from it, while still being recognizable. I suggest you try something else in this sense. Outros are another weak point and if you looked at your channel analytics, I'd venture a guess that you'd notice a sharp drop during your "summing it up", or right before (or as) the totaling appears. Something CS shines at is their humor used at the end segments; Take a piece of the film they just covered and mingle it with other pop culture references and humor. That encourages subscriber/viewer retention, and gives us something to wait around for. I am not saying you have to do the same thing, but if you want us to stick around to see the scenes and other video temptations at the end card, something in the same vein, a hook or gimmick, would help. The comedy needs to be tuned up just a tiny bit. While the factoids and in-depth analysis of certains scenes are engaging, entertaining, and subscribe-worthy, I think you'll find an increase in viewer retention if you take another pass or two at the scripts you write for the videos. A helpful trick on this would be to sync in your editor and watch it through once with the script already verbally recorded. You may find additional jokes or observations (or perhaps a bit of streamlining to the dialogue) popping into your head. Last, but not least, the end font is perfect, but the intro font could definitely use some love. It comes across as unprofessional and unpolished, a bit like when you watch something and they use comic sans. The font isn't horrid (like comic sans) by any means, but I think another pass at it couldn't hurt. It just doesn't appeal to the eye as strongly as the one used on Cinema Sins. The titles of the movies themselves work well, but the "Everything GREAT about" and the "Spoilers!!! (but you knew that)" always makes me think about Power Point presentations :/ Perhaps you should flex a little of your creativity here and rather than attempt to mimic CS and their intro in it's entirety, add your own flair. No one will hold it against you :P I hope this criticism isn't discouraging, I really am enjoying your channel and wish you all the best and great success. I feel a few little quality of life tweaks will help you reach that goal. Best of luck, sincerely.
