I do also think Balem/Balam should have gotten a win for the moment prior to Iruma telling him he’s human, right after the ‘wings’ part. As he apologises and even shows a deformity of his own, as a way of showing sincerity, as he believes (until shortly after when Iruma tells him he’s human) that Iruma’s small wings are a deformity, and he probably feels embarrassed about it. I think that was so wholesome and shows even more how great of a person Balem/Balam is.

My only problem with episode seven is that because of Elizabetta's personally, more specifically the fact that she views all men as potential love interests (which is explained in season 3), her bloodline ability shouldn't work on anyone because she herself says it doesn't work on people she truly likes. Maybe it's a problem of my reasoning and not the writers forgetting about this scene,, but if you don't like someone how could you ever consider them a potential love interest? I just always took that line to mean Elizabetta loves everyone equally.

I think you're overthinking with what she said on season 3. Truly liking/loving someone is different from viewing them as potential love partners. On season 3 when Lied thought that she used Full Love Gauge on him, she reminded him about the limitations of her ability a.k.a cant be used on someone SHE likes, meaning she likes Lied, as a friend/classmate/potential partner, rendering her being unable to use her ability, BUT she just view Orias-sensei as a potential partner and not liking him the same way as Lied and the rest of the mistfits, hence why she can use Full Love Gauge on him.

To each of us, there's a bold line between what's evil (like murdering or betraying) and what's unthinkable (like torturing children or cannibalism or whatever). And to Iruma, comprehensible evil doesn't go further than assertiveness... Seriously, that's what you call a definition of cathegorical imperative embodied

I really like how Iruma's "evil" cycle is basically just an angsty self-confidence boost like he's the same guy throughout but he's able to do more for himself but he's still bringing everyone around him upwards such as organizing getting the new classroom, and by proxy standing up for him and his classmates against Kelago-san. He still helps the custodian although a little dismissive, he's more daring asking Clara to sit on his lap which she didn't end up minding, He hands his bag respectfully to Az because he always insists, and just carries himself differently. any "cruel"/mean acts aren't done out of malice but out just annoyance like when Gramps woke him up first day of the cycle

My favorite thing about the "evil cycle Iruma" arc was how they won because of "regular Iruma." Yes, it was evil cycle Iruma that pushed for Royal One, but regular Iruma's unconditional kindness is what won it in the end. It shows that both sides of Iruma are essential, and if he does become the Demon King (which is heavily foreshadowed to be the case) it will be him finding a balance between these two sides of himself that will lead to him being a great king!

I won't lie to you, when they first showed the scene when Iruma was asking who voted for Ameri and Ronove, i was kinda literally afraid that Iruma will say something that will cut the class into two pieces, but i was not expecting him uniting class at all at this moment!

It's really telling of Iruma's goodness at heart. The irony is that Iruma in his evil cycle is not against the demons going back to their origins things (being all free to pursue their desires or use their powers however they want kind of thing) but there is still a line Iruma won't cross as we can see with how evil!Iruma respected the system and rules enforced by the school and still helped the school staffs as he always did. Now this is quite the contrast to someone who is proving himself to be Iruma's foil and archnemesis in every single way.....

Balam-sensei is definitely the best new addition to the series here. He seems to care about the students more than nearly anyone else shown so far. It was so wholesome to see him freaking out believing Iruma didn't have wings. For the briefest second, you think Balam is taking Iruma and running off to report finding a human, but no! He's genuinely terrified that there is something is very wrong with one of his demon students, like finding out he had a terrible sickness or injury, and Balam takes off screaming for help like; "EMERGENCY! THIS STUDENT IS SICK! CALL THE AMBULENCE!" He cares so much for his students, it's so heart-warming. Also, the moment when Iruma tells Balam that he's human, and Balam acting all terrified, makes you think for a brief moment that the demon world is like the monster world from Monsters Inc. where monsters/demons pretend to be vicious and scary towards humans, but are actually completely terrified of humans for whatever reason. It would be hilarious if that were true, and the day Iruma is outed as a real human, the whole school panics, with all those student's who claimed they would eat a human if they met one actually freaking out and trying to claim they were allergic or something. And that raises a question, when was the last time a human was publicly known in the demon world? They kind of toy on and off with the concept that humans are effectively mythical and many demons don't even believe they really exist, so why is everyone who do believe in humans so sure they would want to eat them if one showed up? Do the demons even know what would happen? How do they know humans AREN'T poisonous or dangerous to demons? Are there verified and proven records of past human appearances in the demon realm? Is it public knowledge? You might think so with what the school song is about, but do they ever actually explain it? I haven't seen one yet, not even in the manga so far.

I’m assuming that back when demons were vicious they did travel to the human realm and ate them. Somehow they were repelled and stayed there in the demon realm eventually pacifying themselves. I feel like with how much Derkila is brought up in relation to Iruma and the whole demon lord prophecy and ring Iruma got, Derkila is a human that got stuck/sent to the demon realm. Derkila might’ve been the reason humans became mythical so demons don’t go searching and he might’ve also instigated peaceful demon lives lowering the risk of demons wanting to invade.

i love that iruma didnt break out the whole shounen protag speech during royal one. when he tried to convince them he didn't berade them for being selfish and choosing fun for voting ronove. he didnt even mind that they liked that they were different from the other students even if it meant they were outcasted or seen as invaluable delinquents. instead, iruma appeals to them by playing into that nature of wanting to stand out. instead of convincing them it was some sort of honor to get royal one and it should be treasured, he assured them that it would be fun to take over that classroom that has been guarded for so long only to get swiped by some mischievous kids really smart way to convince them in my opinion. it also brings to the point that demons are selfish. if they dont like something they're not going to do it. so its always a matter of making people interested to get things done which was at the center of the entire royal one arc

i love iruma-kun so damn much. when i finished season 1, i jumped straight into the manga because it was so interesting; that cliffhanger of evil-phase iruma grabbed all of my attention and wouldn’t let go. when the janitor and other staffs came in to show their support, the line (from the manga) “clowns may be fools, but they move the hearts of masses”? i love that line. the voice actors and actresses are so talented here. the range on iruma is insane; from his usual, to his irumi persona and evil-phase irumean, the joy clara evokes from hearing her voice, the respect and awe you can hear in asmodeus and ameri’s part as you pointed out. ameri’s voice actress also voiced yor in spy x family! and it brings me endless serotonin how iruma and asmodeus’ voice actors voiced hinata and bokuto in haikyuu and the characters have a really special bond there too. hope you cover season 2 part 2 and season 3 when it comes out!

Another subtle thing with the crowd shots (and shots of any students really) in the Omake for Vol. 3 there's a guide for the Babyls School Uniform, including how to tell what year a student is based on spikes and stripes on the sleeves and ankles (for guys) or sleeves and collars (for the gals). The manga and the anime are both REALLY good about being consistent with this information. Like at 20:22 the guy right in the very front? 3rd year because he's got a thick stripe and a single spike. While the red demon next to him is a first or second year (thin stripe, but the spikes would be on the backside of his arm from our perspective). The girl to the left is a first year (single small spike on the collar) and so on. Ameri is a 2nd year and you can tell from the two spikes on her collar.

For episode 2, I think between win 51 and 52, there should have been another point. Something that Iruma and VERY FEW other anime do is give the MC changing hairstyles/cloths/etc. But this series isn't shy about doing that. Yes you could have given that point when he first got into the student council uniform, but when he woke up and recognized himself as being part of their group, he tied back his hair. Showing how serious he was about it. Just like when he was training for the dodgeball game.

The story writing is immersive. None of the characters are forgotten when writing their development. It's a well rounded plot that drags the audience in with plenty of ups and downs. It's by far my #1 anime/manga, even ranking over One Piece (my personal opinion of course).

I like the theory that Iruma's ring, aka Alikred, is the Demon King Derkila as they have the same voice actor and Alikred is Derkila backwards. Plus it would explain his magic knowledge and why he's able to talk to Iruma

One of the best things about Iruma-kun, that other school anime do not have, are the classmates. In most anime, there would be a handful of actual characters in the class with the MC, and the rest would be faceless blanks. But here, all of them have names, special abilities of their own and unique personalities. And not only do they interact with Iruma and his gang, they interact with each other in details ways as well. Really, you have a lot to look forward to in the second half of S2 and the already confirmed season 3!

Between this video and the last chapter that also came out today, this weekend is such a banger. Love this show, love your reactions and your explanations, i can't get enough of these. And since the manga has so much more material and is still ongoing, we have like at least 4 more seasons of greatness that can be animated and this is such a feels good thing. I love this series, it's honestly one of my favorites. One of my favorite things about it is that there is rarely any real filter. Even one-off side stories introduce some plot or world building element that ends up being either important or informative later on. I do wish they kept certain world building elements in the anime from the manga, some things they left out really added to the understanding of the world. But overall, really well done. Also I love that he was surprised that Ronove's voice actor, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, can sing. Not only is he a very prominent voice actor (one of fav actually, also just look up all the characters he's done), but he's also the singer of a rock band called Oldcodex and has sung many songs including some anime openings. Furthermore, he's married to Lisa!

Not sure if you know this, but just wanted to confirm that in the Japanese version (don’t know about any others) Iruma has a single voice actor, who voices the regular Iruma, the evil cycle Iruma… and the disguised-as-a-girl-idol-and-singing-on-stage Iruma. It’s all just one person… who aso voices Hinata in Haikyuu: Murase Ayumu.

Iruma has slowly become my favorite manga / anime of all time. For only one particular reason really as well, pacing. Be it character growth, the story and it's amazing use of foreshadowing, or the natural progression between character's relationships to one another. It's a real world with real people and the story that they create is simply to die for. Great video!

I think my most favorite thing within iruma is showing the importance of the student council. Usually when it comes to the student council they make them the strict one that bad guys or worst of all the unrelevant and just there to fill-in a space. Thier ready to do the work and show how the student council are more than just a cliché. When their president is not available they’ll continue their work without her. They are a team and the unit and I absolutely adore just give props to this anime for showing us the importance of the student council.

mairuma is really a series where it just keeps getting better and better. like when i watched season 1 i had such a great time, it was really funny and wholesome. and then season 2 came and i started to really like the lore of the entire netherworld AND i loved the bigger cast of characters too. and in my opinion season became even better than season 1 and if the manga is anything to go by, the next season is going to be even better than the first 2 seasons. this series just keeps getting better and better as time goes on

The only thing I didn't like this season is that they cropped the panel woth girls freaking out over Irumean at 27:08 In the manga, it's a wider shot with a lot of students of all genders realizing Iruma is hot now

I did this when you did season 1 wins, but time to rewatch the show. I know I have a problem but iruma is a very rare 9/10 on my ranking which means I will gladly rewatch it whenever I am reminded of it regardless of what shows I am currently watching.

This is nothing compared to what is to happen in the future, i might be exaggerating with this but it is my opinion, season 1 and 2 are at the base of the mountain of hype that is too come. I love the manga and will say this, i am 99% sure all songs except devil idol song so far are not in the manga, so they are putting extra effort to make this show amazing.

Welcome to Demon School is absolutely 100% my favorite anime. It's so wholesome and cute! It doesn't skimp on the action and drama though. Season 3 comes out in October and I'm so excited! I can't wait to see the next arc animated. It's going to be soooo good! Everyone should watch this anime!!!!! Wholesome. Found family. Queer characters. Spoopy (spooky but cute) aesthetic. Characters who grow and learn throughout the series (including the main character). God it's so good. It makes me tear up with happiness. Read the manga too!!!!
