11:30 My favorite parts of the animation are the unstelected player character's facial expressions, wild psyducks going full Luigi death stare at the start of battle (mad because migraine, sick of the pain), the Miss Fortune Sisters doing a Super Sentai Roll call complete with the kabuki pose at the end mirroring the end of the roll call from Hurricanger (which was adapted into Power Rangers Ninja Storm but the roll call stock footage was unused) (AAAAAASAAAAAANJOOOOO!) and Ingo's arm animations/poses.

Really like the Hisuian Pokemon and it makes me wish that BDSP was meant for a late 2022 release since they could’ve had Hisuian Pokemon added along with Pokemon from Gen 5-8 among other improvements.

Not having later gen pokemon stings to me becuase honestly gen 4 pokemon aren't my favorite bunch, that would probably go to alola. But I do understand why. The devs wanted to basicly just copy paste the DS games but with switch graphics and that really sucks considering to my understanding, gen 4 remakes were one of the most anticipated games in the community.

Honestly the link cable is a nice fix for some who have a hard time trading either because of some peoples trade requirements (a freaking lv100 shiny arceus for a scyther is ridiculous) are unnecessary and disproportionate to what your looking to get so this cuts the middle out nicely

Only thing to say is "don't rest on your laurels." This is a good game but if Game Freak delivers another "cash cow, quick and broken game" then we are gonna be really disappointed. As this game shows that Game Freak can make something good if they put the time and effort, but if they keep up the yearly, "rushed" games they're gonna be more so hated then loved.

I can echo so many of the sentiments in this video, especially since I was exceedingly cautiously optimistic about this game. Like this was my hail Mary, "If things don't change I have to face the fact that Ultra Sun was my last Pokemon" game. And I've been blown away by how fucking FUN Arceus is to play. Even after finishing the main story I'm still just doing whatever I want, catching whatever I want, going wherever I want in the game and just loving it. Its rough around the edges, there's hiccups and I'm really not a fan of the water textures, but seeing Aipom who previously ran when they saw me walk up to me after a while doing tricks for Oran Berries and just watching Pokemon go about their business and seeing Jubilife slowly go from a barely developed village to what we end up with at the end of it all. I just. I fucking love this game and it honestly makes me feel the same things that ironically Sonic Forces did; it showed me why I fell in love with this series in the first place. I really hope GameFreak keeps this direction with the series, because they can seriously build on just the base skeleton here and really move the series into something better than its been.

I low-key forgot that this game came out but I think your video rekindle what I like about pokemon. I was slowly growing out of it while playing other games so I was really passive about it when I heard about the release. It was great hearing another everything you like about this game and I might just check it out. A thing that I really enjoyed was they make it crystal clear that most people have a very difficult time catching and training a Pokémon. In other games you know you are special, because you are the player character, but when you are playing and completely blowing folks over it gets frustrating and makes folks seem dumb. Like, dude, you look a few years older then me why do you only have two Pidgeys? Because the games never really tell you explicitly that catching and training Pokémon is difficult, just that you the player are special. This game lets you know how difficult it is off the bat, so when you bowl over folks for most of the game it’s like… more acceptable to my mind.

not gonna lie, i am ECSTATIC that (almost?) every pokemon in legends arceus had their models updated 👀 like for example basically every facial feature that used to be a flat texture is now fully modelled like eyelids and mouths, so mons can look around and make different facial expressions without needing new textures for each one. it's minor but being able to see your pokemon actually focus on what it's attacking instead of blankly looking ahead makes them feel way more alive than they did before. also, we finally have more than one animation for each attack category 😳 for example crobat can do a spinning tackle, or do different kinds of slashes with its wings for a physical attack which changes depending on the move (eg a spinning tackle for collecting resources, slashing in an X for cross poison or slashing with its hind wings for leech life) which does wonders for making attacks look like they're actually being performed by the pokemon instead of just some particle effects in the enemy's direction :)

I loved the reversal of expectations, how the Cyrus look alike is actually like one of the best people in the story and one of the only ones who never doubts you, while the Cynthia look alike is the actual villain. As a monster hunter fan, I can relate the visual points to the monster hunter games that were before world. Before world… they were very behind on graphics. The gameplay was fun and the graphics made the weapons and armors pop, but it wasn’t the best looking. Of course world came out and it looked amazing, but then double cross came out and it still had the older graphics. But it was still a blast, and I think I can thank monster hunter for showing me that graphics aren’t everything. That being said, I won’t complain about better graphics, but it’s not a deal breaker for me.

I’ve never had the drive to complete a Pokédex or shiny hunt in past games because for me Pokémon was all about battling and being the best in the region. When I first got arceus and was tasked with catching all Pokémon I was daunted and didn’t think I was going to enjoy it as much as I did. The first area I fell in love with and was so excited to get turned around in and lost. So far I’m enjoying the story and am happy that battles so far aren’t really the main drive of this game. Sure they happen, but I love just being able to sit back a bit and chill with many bidoof at once. I explicitly stayed away from Twitter/spoilers just so I could go in truly blind I didn’t even know who the starters were. Honestly yeah sure it looks bad, but at the same time it’s sooo much fun to explore everything and every nook n cranny it’s just really great

You didn’t even really talk about the lighting in the last one. But I gotta admit based on everything I’ve seen of the gameplay it looks incredibly fun although for me I’d think it would get old fast with a lack of visual diversity and how small the setting is. Like to me Pokémon games were some of the biggest games that I owned with the most unique modern stories which ironically changed to being one of the least mature game franchises not in terms of like “maturity” but in the lack of story and the derivative storytelling which makes the ending very underwhelming. Still though I believe this game could easy have made a foundation for far better future titles especially now that game freak has experience in this style of game they can now improve on its issues&mechanics create very unique settings that would actually make sense for certain pokemon to live in(like very large beehives in giant dense forests, Lots of spider webs, stuff like that in contrast with a vibrant peach blossom field/ a Pink beach/ a jungle/swamp/ savanna or even have like warped points in reality where the landscape is just completely distorted). So I have some hopes for the future about this game but at the same time I personally don’t think it’s worth it

See, the free roaming and sneaking is something I wish they would have put in the pokémon snap remake. I still remember seeing the animation from the original pokémon snap where todd is hiding in the tall grass to get his picture of mew It makes me wonder if they should have waited for snap to release after arceus. I really like the cool quality of life stuff they added like evolutions being something that you can fully control. If you want to keep a Pokemon the way it is for one reason or another, you don't need to sit through it wanting to evovlve and you pressing B. I also like the difficulty. The Pokemon are no joke and I suffered a lot of beatings from Pokemon the same level or even lower.

I didn't think I was going to like the game at first but I pre-ordered it with my younger sister since I like trying the other games. After playing it for the first time I really liked it. I've been a fan for almost 2 decades and I love it so much. I love the npc characters, I love the named characters, I love the story, and I love the new Hisuian forms. I would like this to become it's own series with the other legendary pokemon like Celebi or something along those lines. It could be interesting. But that's just my opinion and other's opinions are valid.

One thing people seem to s*t on that I actually like is the Origin forms for Palkia and Dialga. I see the issues, Palkia looks kind of weird without arms but still having the shoulder rings, but I like how they seem to be putting them closer in appearance to their creator, Arceus. Stuff like how they're more horse-like and have those symbol things around their midsections show thought when into them.

Actually, i like the stand alone Pokémon games more than the main pokemon games, because they are different on the gameplay and story, I loved the Mystery dungeon games, i love the gameplay of Conquest, at first I thought that I didn't going to like Pokepark but I really liked the story of Pokepark 2 and the battle style, the Pokemon Stadium Games obviously the minigames on it

I personally love the fact that trading isn't required. I get it that pokemon is supposed to be a social thing, but I don't have many to play with or even know who will be willing to trade with me. It is so nice being able to complete the dex without trading for once.

This game really does look pretty and adventurous, the idea of traveling back in the past is very interesting too! The way things are in gameplay seems curious but interesting too, I never really cared for the Lets GO Pokemon games that came for the switch, the whole just catching Pokemon in the wild and not fighting them seemed boring. But this game seems it does a better job on the concept and still allows ya to fight Pokemon, that's probably what made me so unsure of the game, if it was gonna be just like the lets go games. But seeing you talk about it and seeing it's gameplay I feel more at ease and think I will give it a try some time if whenever I get the chance!

This game is basically pokemons take on kingdom hearts birth by sleep a test fire of mechanics and gameplay for future games it’s a shame we might not see the hisuian evolutions again but this open world style really fits Pokémon and makes me excited for gen 9 granted we really didn’t need to hve dialga with another form but still; amd thinking about it this might not be the only legends game we get if this game came bout from the few lines in the sinnoh steel gyms town library then we might see one for unova amd kalos seeing a young not yet immortal AZ or see the dao trio united as one for the first time and that prospect really excites me

Also, I REALLY do hope this game helps pave the way for a proper representation of the battles we see all the time in the anime, where only portions of the side games have been able to deliver, plus your point of actually tying the main plot of catching everything with what your character is doing where most of the time catching means literally nothing and at best, it's just a means to an end for the rest of the plot, it very much DOES feel disconnected when you think about it. Also, I hope at some point, granted this may just give in to the "plot feels separate from what youre doing" thing, but I would love a pokemon game where you could literally be anything you would wanna be in the pokemon world, like im certain that tons of people would just find it fun to just choose if they wanna be a pokemon ranger for example, or a gym leader, or manage the safari zone, things like that. Like we always see these diverse trainer types in the world of pokemon, but we as players never really get to DO that, all we really end up being is tournament champions, which is fine but i feel like it would be nice to just go "you know what? i wanna do some proper research and just watch pokemon or take pictures". I feel like we need that diversity, while it would be a lot of work to make multiple games, i feel like you could easily make a system that accounts for every "job type" using Legends' mechanics and systems as a base. And I just like that there is only one game and you dont have to rely on other people to trade, honestly its an archaic system to do and it, to me, feeds into the idea of FOMO. I have an easy solution that would fix it: while still keeping the ability to trade to other people, work off this game as far as being able to do trade evolutions in single player, having only one entry that has the different "versions" of itself based on what starter pokemon you choose acting as the difference to what exclusive pokemon you get (being allowed to pull from the save files on your console so you can basically have all 3 sets) & how the story plays out, also maybe even add a 2nd rival, that way we have one to be the friendly rival that we've been getting in recent entries picking the pokemon that is the weaker type to yours and a 3rd to be the actual classic "im gonna beat you" rival picking the pokemon thats stronger Plus, this game honestly has been the only one that, while i dont have a switch, I would GLADLY want to catch every pokemon, like legit, this game has me saying "yes, I would like to shiny hunt in this entry" and i've NEVER felt that way before when it comes to the other games. Granted that might be with how easy it is to catch shineys in this but still, this game's systems, even if it was the same amount of random luck, i wouldnt mind doing because the ability to just CATCH without HAVING to battle, to me, removes a LOT of needless grinding, plus it just helps the immersion more

WAIT. Before you buy BD, lemme just say that there really isn't much of a reason to play it over something like Platinum in terms of fun interesting things to do. You can play it for easy access to legendaries, but not much to do besides that. It's just DP on the Switch

For me, the core game design here, several clever innovations and design choices, and a fun gameplay loop, render the sub-par graphics pretty irrelevant. Graphics are important, generally speaking, but good graphics alone can't carry a game, provided they're not the entire point of it. But good game design absolutely can. Sure, I'd love if the game looked better and maybe it should, but if we can't have both, then I am fine with this result. I love many things about the game, but in particular I adore all the improvements they've made to the game flow and how they rethought their implementation of certain features and mechanics, like move relearning. It makes all the older games just seem soooo archaic and sluggish by comparison, like having to go through and wait on so many text boxes in every battle.

The new forms are amazing honestly. I beat the game main story wise, but I still feel like there’s so much to do. Zoroark and sneasler are probably my favorite new Pokémon besides my starter typloshion(sorry if that’s wrong.) The new Pokémon and characters are good (Adaman, Volo), and I hope we get DLC.

I pretty much just started this game but so far I love what they've done with it and like I've heard some people say in another videos it would be awesome if they either made another legends game or with the next main title which I hear technically legends Arceus is a main title I would love for them to bring some of the elements if not all elements to the next main title because being able to run around just throwing your pokeballs at pokémon is cool. You have to sneak up on them just to make sure they don't attack you or run away. Pokémon battles are still a thing but you don't go to this white void. Yeah, never really like the white void. Oh and unlike all the other pokémon games where they it's hinted that pokémon will attack humans and eat them and whatever you know they, they bring this whole lore to the games that seem like if Pokemon were real thing that they could actually be dangerous. This Pokemon was made by a kid dying or this Pokemon will straight up eat you or you know whatever unlike all of those where all that stuff is in the backstory and the Pokedex these Pokemon have no problem at attacking you. Sure if you throw your Pokemon out there to battle them, they'll turn their attention to the Pokemon but if you haven't done that yet they have no problem hitting you with tackle or shadow ball or lightning bolts or whatever flamethrower you know whatever a Pokemon can do and I love that. They need to bring that to other games make it a little interesting you know. I have to catch this Pokemon or else it'll straight up murder me or something. Oh and I also love how they made it where if you want to change your pokémon you can either go to the pokémon menu where it still shows your pokémon list, or If you wanted to you could find the pokémon in the list to the side and just press the button to switch them in the same way that you did to throw the pokémon out in the first place to start the battle. And if you want to run away they have a runaway button like always, but also if you wanted to run away you could run away you know physically make your character run away. Since it's no longer avoid you still have control of your character. You can move around the battlefield. You can actually stand in between your pokémon. I don't know why you would want to but still, if you wanted to run away if you're one of those people who saw a pokémon got into a battle and went, "Oh oops I didn't mean to fight you," you can physically just make your character run away and you will eventually end the battle and I like that.

When Legend was announced i was really worried Graphic sucks, glitches are more than normal but God It does so many more good thing Free camera, explorability, mount, battles with Alpha are Difficult, a good story and characters Gen 9 looks more promising than ever

There's so many little tidbits that really stand out to me-especially about the Pokemon themselves. When idle, wild Nosepass will face north, like they're supposed to. If you get hurt and a wild Blissey is nearby, it will come to check on you. Things like that just make me so happy whenever I notice them!

I always hate admitting it but Pokemon just hasn't been very fun for me in recent years. SwSh just felt like I was going through the motions with really not much effort put in and I just didn't want to bother with either remake because there were just better things I could be spending money on for the Switch. Legends Arceus though is really that push I think Pokemon needed and has been needing. For any complaint I have with the game like graphics, I feel it's made up for by just how much fun it is to run around and explore and just catch and battle wild Pokemon. I feel like for the first time in a while, Pokemon really stuck a landing and I really hope some ideas presented here are expanded on for the future.
