Greetings from a Lucid driver in Europe! I really enjoyed your video and I completely agree with your criticism. The software definitely needs further development - unfortunately we haven't received any new updates here in Europe for months. Nevertheless, I enjoy every kilometer I drive in this car. It's definitely a real eye-catcher!

Thanks for a very useful review. As someone who purchased a Lucid Air Pure RWD 6 weeks ago my experience is similar to yours. Beautiful quality car and the best drive train on the planet. But the software has a few rough edges. I am grateful for the Lucid Owner Forum where I get good advice. I really like that it has a data ready USB-c port where i have plugged in my usb stick with my music library. Much better fidelity than any other approach. Tesla removed the data ready USB port from Model Ys about 3 years ago (?) so the last Model Y i had could not play my usb stick!! I do like the way the Lucid handles. Cant wait for the release of Gravity next month. and am happy that highly respected auto engineer Cory Steuben is in the charge of the mid-sized program. I should add that my final price was over $5k less than the list price. So, my car is truly an 'econo-car'. Just a little more expensive than a Kia EV.

First of all I love the videos on this channel, Luke! Just commenting to say I’m not sure about that consumption figure. I have a BMW i3 in southern Florida and I generally average 4-5.5 mi/kWh. I have automatic climate programmed for five days a week, lots of AC usage, and every green light is a launch for me. Of course I have a much smaller battery (~42kWh, about 38kWh usable, software limited) but I still see nearly 200mi usable between charges, though EPA estimates about 150mi on a full charge. I really appreciate the Lucid coverage, I feel like it might be my next car, assuming prices come down in a few years on the used market.

Great video. I have had my Lucid the exact same amount of time and could not agree more about the software issues. It’s got to get better or it will never match up to Tesla. I’ve had three Teslas and the ride quality of each sucked, but the tech blows away Lucid. Time will tell if the software improves overall once the Gravity is released.

Starting with the high end sedans was not an error for Lucid. At first they had very limited manufacturing capacity, expensive parts that they were outsourcing during the plague, and nobody who knew what they were about. How to separate from Fisker/Canoo/Polestar/i-Pace and every other new EV at that time? Auto journalists love sports cars and high performance sports sedans. That's what Lucid delivered. It earned them all of the "Car-Of-The-Year" type awards, still does, glowing reviews. Road & Track said sometimes the Dream Drive Lucid's aero wheel covers blow off if you go over 175mph. VERY few cars can really go over 175. Really. All then had Italian or German names. All were over $200k, well over. And none had four comfy seats with a refined ride and roomy trunks for the family's luggage. The press Loved the Lucid Air, and that was the point. It made a statement. It still does. 3 years later my 800+hp Air GT is probably the quickest car in my town, and may be the most comfortable. But, no, sedan's aren't for most people. For those others, the Lucid Gravity SUV is now open for orders. Demo cars and test drives will be available soon (if not already) at your nearest Lucid studio. Production has started, will grow steadily in Lucid's new giant Arizona factory, and it will definitely be high-trim units first. If you want to be the first kid on your block with the cool new toy it's not to late to get on the list.

Might buy one of these used in a few years if Lucid is still operating as a company. Their Gravity pre-orders are open now and I think there will be a lot of Lucid Airs on the used market when they actually start delivering the Gravity. Just have to point out the Model S LR torque listed on that comparison was incorrect. It's hard to find a non-Plaid torque figure, but the most-likely-correct number I've seen is 723 lb-ft of torque. The Air Touring has more torque and the Model S LR has more HP. And the Air Grand Touring beats them both.

Savings over gas of $150/mo making it $333/mo. My insurance went up $50/yr though. The lease deal makes this an incredible deal for a new luxury car. You didn't mention the charging experience. I would think EVgo and Electrify America are sh!t shows - that's what everyone else has said. I don't recall Lucid signing onto the Tesla charging standard. That said the car is fine but I personally don't think they did a good job on the look. It looks frumpy. It doesn't look sporty, futuristic or fast. They won't be making a profit for a long, long time and only still exist because of Saudi Arabian oil money.

Over the past year I’ve had no problems with EA or EVgo in my Genesis GV60. I’ve taken several fairly long road trips. I’m not saying others aren’t having problems but it’s not as bad as some people say. Lucid did sign up for Supercharger access, it should be available soon. However, because Tesla doesn’t fully support 800v cars, the charging speeds will be limited at Supercharger stations.
