This would kind of be a broad topic but how about recs about horror involving modern technology. Air Bnb horror, rideshare horror like SPREE app based horror movies like COUNTDOWN, basically films that couldnt have been made 10 years ago because the technology referenced is so modern. All the ones i can think of are pretty cheesy but im sure you can find some gems

You summed up my view on Titane perfectly! I first saw it at a packed film festival and alone so my brain was just shocked the entire time, but after rewatching it on my laptop at my home I felt it much easier to digest, and the story is so well written.

The Deep House sounds like it might have been inspired by a lake in the American South that was created (from what I remember) by damming up a river and allowing it to fill up a valley that contains a small town and not much of the town was deconstructed before the dam was created and the water began flow in. I’m not explaining it well at all, I know it sounds made up but I assume that’s what makes it such a great, eerie idea for a film as well! Very interesting vid, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I couldn't imagine that I'd be commenting this on this channel, but Oh My God! Mom is so amazing! One of my favorite sitcoms. The duo of Anna Faris and Allison Janney is so hilarious. I was so sad when it ended this year. And i'm so happy for you that you are experiencing the journey of Mom for the first time. Also Jaime Pressley as Jill is soo good!

Loved this vid. I got so much on my watchlist from what you have reviewed. Not sure if you've heard of Ragnarok, Netflix series. I'm sure it's Norwegian. It's about a family who have moved back into a little town and the mother has two sons. One acts very much like a Loki character and the other son is a bit of a loser. He falls in love with a girl who is an outcast and there is another family who basically owns the town. This family is ruining the rivers. You can't trust the fish that are being caught for food. It's a real good eco show along with a Nordic myth. Very unique

Emma YAY, I've always liked you, your reviews & monthly wrap-ups, & This one is Fantastic, as I LOVE that you found & really Like the sit-com/drama MOM, as I too ADORE the show!😊♥️ It's so well written & acted, I love Allison Janney & Anna Faris, and don't know what season you're on, other good actors & characters who join the show as seasons progress. I really want to agree with you on Titane being the year's best horror, but I also hold Candyman and The Night House in very high regard. At least it'll be in top 5. I'd hoped Halloween Kills would've been there but the acting and some of the writing held it back. Still a fun movie, glad you got something from it too.

Apologize for my ignorance on release dates outside of my country, but I recently watched Spencer and when it comes out in Australia I would love your opinion. It is not by any means a straightforward “horror” film, but I absolutely love how the director utilizes horror elements in a biopic. Claustrophobic and surreal to say the least. Love the videos.

I feel like the only person in the world who liked the Lion King remake 😂 Though I agree it shouldn't be called live action! An under the radar Australian film I enjoyed this year was Sweet River, it's not perfect but I found it visually striking and memorable. Glad you enjoyed Werewolves Within, I thought it was really fun though I'm not a fan of those quick cuts in films.

Case 39 is an excellent movie, I have seen some sleeper movies this year that were good to really good, i don't know if you have seen them but I liked them, one was the Dark and the Wicked, Alone, Hush, and the Rental. Just a few I would recommend to you. I agree with you about Marvel movies, I was a fan when the movies first started out, when I was younger, I did collect comic books but now as I'm older I just don't get into them anymore like I did when I was younger. Sometimes it feels like a money grab with all the Marvel movies out now, I might be wrong but it's how I feel. A movie that I haven't seen that's on my watch list is serial mom, it's a Shout factory release but the trailer looks pretty good and Kathleen Turner looks like she is having fun with her part in the movie. Agree with you on Dumbo and the Lion King live versions. As always keep up the great work it doesn't go unnoticed!

Yes! An Irish film, my time to shine. What Richard Did is based on a true story, and the case highlighted a serious problem we have here in Ireland that is, without spoiling anything hopefully, certain people can commit crimes here and suffer zero consequences. The real case infuriated me, the director went on to do Room, which I know spooky has spoken about often, but he also did Normal People which I think is masterful.

Tbh this is really difficult for me as every film is different for people depending what country they are in. I also receive screeners for many like the feast. Because I’m in Australia many people won’t have same access as me or we have different platforms anyway. Hope that makes sense. Hi Emma, I rewatched this Nov list of all U watched, & I watched Lifetime movie "Amanda Knox: Murder trial in Italy", but IT did NOT end accurately, as Knox & Raffaele Sollecito were Finally fully Acquitted in an Italy supreme Court in 2014 or 2015! So I'm watching & highly recommend You see a 1-hour Documentary titled The Murder of Meredith Kercher, as it has real footage, news clips, & the True story of All that actually occurred, including the final acquittal of Amanda Knox & her Ex-Bf.

The Deep House looked so promising and the undead were very creepy and unique. This could have been a truly original movie, but the camera, plot, acting and writing were just bad. I hate it when the female characters act so useless and clueless and always ask the guy what to do until said guy dies and they have to fend for themselves. That's so outdated.

yeah the deep house looked great but the story went overboard (pun intended) Venom 2 was ok but that´s it. Wolf of Snow Hollow was too artsy fartsy to me some how. Slaughter House rulez yeah i didn´t understand what they try to go to with it story.

The Beta Test is a second watch film for sure. It's basically several genres in one and quite jarring on a first watch. Also Jim is 'his own studio' and so doesn't give a fuck about appealing to mass audience. Jim's characters are always flawed people and assumed they are likely semi-autobiographical about himself or friends and family. Alcoholism for instance is always up front.
