Concise, clear explanation of goals and the scientific why behind our avoidance of completing them. Currently reading “The Power of Habit” and it was my first time encountering the habit loop! Mind blown.

Awesome video guys! I have always found that visualising what I'm working towards really helps with my goals. I've been trying to run and do resistance training three times a week each, and sometimes its REALLY hard to make myself do it, but if I think about how much better I'm gonna be and how much weight I'm gonna lose (hopefully) if I just keep it up, it really motivates me. Same has been true for learning the piano... Its REALLY damn hard, and it's so tempting to skip practice sometimes. But I keep imagining what I might be able to do in a years time if I keep going and it motivates me to carry on. So far, been running and weight training for just under a year, and I've lost 24kg Been learning piano for about a year and a half, and I would be taking grade one exams if they were available during covid.

I think one of the best ways is to combine something you have to do with something you want to do. I’ve learned a ton of Russian by listening to Pimsleur almost every time I need to wash dishes.

2 recommendations. 1) the video Yearly Themes by CGPGrey. Brilliant alternative to goals and resolutions. 2) the book Atomic Habits. Easy read, and full of ideas on building lasting habits rather than the lifehacks every motivation channel hawks daily

Im a technology manager who does trials and performance metrics on websites for customer prospects. Each of my team members, sales staff, and surrounding teams know I use the SMART method for our success criteria in a trial. I train my sales team on what specific means and "better performance" is not a real measure of success.

In some way, shape or form the information presented wasn't new to me but the way it was presented was clear, concise and excellent in my view, contributing to motivating me to better myself or at least be more aware of the habits that are going on in my life which I'd like to improve. Thank you!

Be sure to watch the entire video before reading this SUMMARY 1. SMART(Specific Measurable Achievable Relevant Time-Specific ) goal settings. - write your goals 2.Break your goals into smaller pieces to achieve each day 3.Take advantages of 'habit', tweak your daily habits and tie them to a goal you want to achieve (wanted to exercise early morning but hard to wake up, so kept exercise gears on alarm ) 4 Replace distractions with healthier alternatives (eat healthy instead of snacking, drink water instead of being distracted by mobile) Review 9:09
