This is crucial! After my son passed away I literally stopped breathing. I'd hold my breath because I was stuck in my past and the trauma. It wasn't until I started to meditate that I was able to retrain my brain to breathe. Meditating literallyn heals you from the inside out.

I meditated for a while, I was the happiest I’ve ever been. If you’re looking into getting into meditation, definitely try out guided. That’s where I started, and get comfortable doing it I find that when I’m most comfortable (Laying down in my bed) it helped me focus so much more. Keep it short as well, I only did 10 minutes a day when I started and felt amazing.

I am meditating for the past 2 years every day. I've tried morning, evening, laying down, sitting, 20 minutes, 10 minutes, you name it. The most important for me is not to blame myself if I am doing it right or not. To this day I am still learning and my mind still wonders every 30 seconds, but I feel more and more at ease with myself and that's the greatest benefit I've seen in my life. Yes, I am more productive, calm and so on, but the fact that I've learned to accept myself and my actions more easily is a real life-changing moment.

Meditate to start your day and at the end to reflect upon your day. Meditation redefines productivity with fulfillment. It restructures your mind to be more present, to have more mindfulness of the internal and the external. Then as a caveat and the peak purpose of meditation is that it helps connect you with your spiritual body (aka your soul). When you quiet your mind, your emotions, and your physical sensations; you'll eventually end up witnessing that meek light that's always been there just waiting for you to come around. The far future will have "spiritual" sciences, but right now it's largely unknown.

It takes a long time to stabilize anything in meditation, such is the nature of the mind. It's longer than building anything physically for sure. Muscles take time to build? Well meditation muscles take even longer, and there's no "achieving your genetic limit"...there are four times of the day said to be ideal for meditation: right after you woke up, early enough, right before you go to bed, midday, or midnight, all with empty belly or sufficiently far from your last meal. I find morning works best for me, for I know that I won't miss my session whatever the day throws at me, the uncertainties etc. Keep at it. Don't get discouraged by plateaus, apparent setbacks, or even the perception of actually getting worse at it. You are planting seeds, they will remains underground, unseen, until they pierce through, and even then it will take time for them to grow into a strong tree with bright flowers and fruits. But if you do it, it will happen. No wonder why the parable of "the way is more important than the goal" is so prevalent in Asia. Enjoy the process!

As a whole, modern man has forgotten how to be still. We are "on" all the time and quiet seems foreign and uncomfortable to us. Guided meditation is wonderful. But sometimes you just need nature. Some of the best "meditation" I do is lie down on the grass, on a towel if you want, and just watch the clouds roll by on a perfect sunny afternoon. The clouds bring an amazing sense of peace and the vastness of the sky so far away brings me out of myself. Anyway, it works for me. :)
@FearlessDreams4 жыл бұрын
I love this approach. This is possible even at home. I was doing the dishes, preparing breakfast and listening to music this morning and yet I was so calm and in the moment. Since we have to stay at home the "rush" is out of the way and we can really appreciate and "meditate" on what's most important.

There is nothing magical about the breath, try meditating on sensations in your body and after a while -shift your focus towards the strongest emotion you're feeling. What you'll notice is that that the emotion is actually a physical sensation in your body ...probably one you felt in the beginning but was unable to identify. Focus on it and give it the attention it seeks -it'll burn more intensely initially, but it will pass a lot quicker too.
