Oh...My...God! This is, without question, the most helpful tip video for Timberborn ever! All at the stage that I am at right now. I consider it "mid game". I was having problems with the long paths and flags and you answered it first thing!!! My second issue was pathing when trying to build a dam. You got on that too! You rock at giving important useful tips concisely to the point. Thanks for taking the time.

I have another tip that helped me in my game. You only need explosives but then you can make your paths arounds your farms into canals with platfroms on top to maximize farmland without wasting any extra space. You can also make a small water reservoir under the farmhouse with explosives and platforms. If you make it 2-3 deep it will keep all the plants alive through the drought. You can also "build downwards" with explosives. Make a hole and some stairs and you have several storages in the ground for example. You only need 1 space at the surface for stairs the rest can be built over with platforms.

I can tell that this might be your first tip video, but honestly you are a natural at this. The intro and outro was slightly awkward but you were on a roll the rest of the time. You packed tons of helpful info You don't stutter or jam up You have a joyous natural humor And I did catch you repeating some words or phrases, but I do not think it was bad or unnecessary at all, in fact I thought it was funny and enjoyed it. Great job and thank you so much for the help

I recently figured out that storage is probably the most helpful aspect of efficiency and large stockpiling to support builds and population growth. The game has changed a lot since this video came out, so several features you highlighted have been altered but having effective storage systems has helped significantly and on larger maps, strategic placement of multiple hauling posts helps too. Additionally, as soon as I start a new map, I really like to place roads going out from my city center in all directions to help with the road efficiency. and road planning early game can help a bit with later game.

I also built a city on diorama on hard mode with fox tails. I dynamited the lower pond as deep as possible and the river as deep as possible and then dynamited down six levels in the upper water source area. The entire rest of the map is green because of water dumps and it runs on auto pilot with no micromanaging. I also dynamited the mountain next to the mine down to the same level as the rest of the map and built up the mountain with the water source for gravity batteries and tree farms.

I'll have to look & see if you have already done what I'm going to suggest: Make an update video on these (and other) topics/points since the changes that have been made. I'd love to see what you would do differently because of those changes. I noticed some differences in the warehouses (your video vs. my recent gameplay), so the question came to mind. 1: THANK YOU for the information! It was needed & gratefully received. 2: Your explanations were concise & still entertaining. Delivery was beautiful & fun! 3: Loved the timestamps. Shows effort and organization. My adhd brain needed it (chaotic day). I better understand this new (to me) game. Maybe it'll be less frustrating. 😆 Time to go delve into your videos.

@@m0ro I personally like this type of videos, longer and with a lot of information. But from what I've seen, the shorter vids are the ones that do better in terms of views. That's why I'm trying to play a little more with editing.
@m0ro
@m0ro 2 жыл бұрын
@@tonyyt8368 Yeah, that might be true, but I can barely keep my videos below 30 minutes so I've just given up on that hahah. Even at 30ish minute videos I still cut out just as much game time and it's a struggle hahah. Working on the recording side to make it easier to cut is the key I think. What are you using to edit?
@tonyyt8368
@tonyyt8368 2 жыл бұрын
@@m0ro I use Cyberlink Power Director 18. It's pretty good, but I guess just like every other editing software it's got a learning curve. Deciding what to cut and leave out of a video is always hard. I'm trying to copy the editing style of some of the bigger creators. I wonder if they write things down or just wing it like I do. What software do you use?
@m0ro
@m0ro 2 жыл бұрын
@@tonyyt8368 I tried a bunch of different ones but mostly ended up just using premier elements which I had bought a few years ago. I found it to be the most comfortable interface and it's fairly advanced once you get past the "anyone can use this" stuff on top. Eventually I said screw it and just started using premier pro cause there were a few things that bothered me about elements. It's not exactly "cheap" but the monthly price isn't toooo bad. Makes editing less frustrating and it's SO easy to look up tutorials cause it's the standard for most editors. I did also go for the month to month option rather the cheaper yearly rate *just in case* hahah. As far as the editing style goes, yeah, I totally get the frustration. Part of me wants to take half my videos down and redo them, but that would just take time away from doing new ones. I definitely feel just doing it more and trying things out is all you can do. I feel like I've barely done any videos and already my sensibilities are changing when editing. I'm obviously still super new so who knows, but a few people seem to like it so always forward hahah.

@@pawekwiecien8701 I just had a look and at the point at which I filmed this video, the tank was in the process of expansion. If you look at the playlist for that series, I did an overview/final tour of the map that would show how all the things ended up working. That tank was there for water storage for pumping so we had floodgates at the top for waterflow during wet season.

I don't get how you view storage. Gather, Process is always going to be better than Gather, Move, Storage, Move, Process. All buildings has build in storage, now the water pump has 15 storage, but a single pump can gather more than 15 water in a day, so when your daily water drinking becomes higher than 15, it make sense to create water storage, instead of another water pump. Lumberjack flags can all store 20 lumber, so you have to ask yourself why you need 180*3 lumber storage, what is the reason that you EVER need 600+ lumber stored? Now with water you have a clear burst use each day, but why do you use lumber, gears and other stuff SLOWER than you make them, that make no sense. You should always be using the resources faster than you can build them, so no point having any storage. Haulers deliver resources to workplaces, that is the ENTIRE point of haulers, that workers don't have to do the lifting.
