I think what Dee 1 is doing is justified and in high demand base on the Word of God. We as men, women, and children of God our job is to call out false teachers and false gods because they do claim that the reason they “made it” to where they at is because “god did” so the question still remains Who is your god!?!

*This is why potential leaders in our community don’t step up; when you challenge our ‘best’ to be BETTER you trigger their ego their cognitive dissonance & their bitch ass emotions & you become the ‘bad guy’. They attack you because they can’t respond directly to wickedness HE pointed out that you need to correct, because correcting it requires integrity & STRENGTH which is seriously lacking among our people… & even moreso in rap culture.*

Yes positive entertainment pushes more positivity. God, good upbringing, and intelligence stop evil from entering your spirit. It is not 100% true that if you listen to rap music you will become what it is. You can do a short test on your own. How many people do you personally know that did something illegal because a rapper said it? How many people you personally know used to listen to or still listen to rap music and are stand up citizens? Without including all throughout history but just from 1980 until now, more people have died from differences in religion than someone doin what a rapper said. At the end of the day, you need God in your heart guiding your life to see through all evil. Whether it is music, movies, games, poetry, books, or misguided leaders.

Good Morning young men, this video is really good. I am a 54-year-old African American woman at home sick with the flu and I came across the video and clicked on it because I saw D1 in the thumbnail so I had to comment. I grew up with NWA, Ice-T, Easy E and the like Hip-hop is drastically different now. I worked in a juvenile jail for 4 years and witnessed the effect firsthand of the music. Jim Jones had a very fiery response because DEEP DOWN he knew D1 was right. Jesus is soon to come and I have np with how D1 is coming at those in the hip-hop industry, some things cannot be "skirted around" or "sugar-coated"!

Freedom of speech??? If a person stands up in a crowded movie theater, and yells out fire fire, or there’s a bomb in here! When the people stampede all over each other, and people die in the stampede, is the person that yelled fire protected by his right to freedom of speech, if there was no bomb or fire in the movie theater to begin with? Freedom of speech only applies when your speech does not cause harm damage death etc. etc. to innocent people.

As somebody who's produced gangster rap and hip hop for 20 years even I acknowledge it's done nothing but harm our communities. It's becoming harder and harder to justify it . These rappers don't necessarily want what's best for the next generation. They want to get the quick dollar. They're not stupid, they know that if rap music didn't convey negative messages we would all be doing better ultimately (even financially). what they're afraid of is change. Entertainment business is delicate in the sense that it's really easy to fall off the map and loose fans . So while some of these rappers deep down would probably love to sing songs of positivity they're not willing to risk it. And the hungry artist coming up will ride the same wave thinking that's the only thing that will work for them. Poisonous music that is. It's really fucked up😮

I figured old people (60 years old and older) are the only ones still listening to the radio. I figured most young people are streaming what they listen to. I think now more than ever the fans and consumers are more responsible for the music they listen to and support than the media. The algorithm even finds music similar to what you regularly listen to. But I'm glad Dee-1 is calling everyone including fans to do better. But I think you all bring up great points.

An inmate will never point to a rapper as his reason for being incarcerated because he’ll never realize that the rapper started affecting his psyche a long time before he got locked up. No 21 year old does a drive by because of a particular song, but most 21 year old shooters started wanting to be a shooter at 12. These rappers affect the little ones.
@tokyorick79
@tokyorick79 5 ай бұрын
But wait, I can almost guarantee if you ask most of those inmates what music they were bumping as they were doing what ever they did, I can almost guarantee it’s gangsta music. Music can be a motivator if your in desperate times.
@imogvybes
@imogvybes 4 ай бұрын
@@tokyorick79I agree that music can motivate. Sound can motivate and have physical and spiritual impact on us. The motivation was to an evil seed already there. Music was the first level of exposure in to life you knew nothing about. Media (not just social media) in all its forms, TV, music, books, etc expose people to things they never knew. So rappers talking about their hood and things they seen and done is interesting to some. Someone who is about to commit a drive by will listen to something that is similar. Now if such music didn't exist, that does not mean the drive by did not happen. Some people don't listen to anything when they are focused. They don't want distractions. They don't want to be heard coming down the street. I'm sorry but I can't blame something created to entertain people who are entertained by what these artist offer. It is weak minds, uninformed, unguided, etc that lead the ones, the very few, who are actually affected by music and violent movies and violent video games. Better parenting, belief in a higher power, understanding entertainment versus reality would go a long way. Hell create a class in school to teach kids that things on social media are not always real if parents don't do it. At the same time, teach them about financial literacy too.

You are so wrong on this take. Many people in prison will tell you music poisoned them. They call tell you what they listen to to hustle, kill, before sex etc. I know, I been there having these conversation with them. I am one who used to rap and attempted a career. It took prison for me to have time to see the music isn't ours anymore, it's poisoned now.
@imogvybes

@e-cityreloaded201 I do out reach as well. At risk youth, homeless, and veterans. They all said they would listen to music but the music didn't get them started. Music enhanced the moment. Like I said, the seed was there. The seed was planted from individuals close to them. Peers, family, or older people near them. People they saw in real life with similarities to what was being talked about in music. Athletes listen to music and use it to motivate the seed of competition that is there. They don't go in the game and shoot somebody or cop a brick when the game over. Kids I worked with in homes all.... all said their influence was someone in their close surroundings. Not a rapper. The closest thing I heard from someone was they wanted the money, women and lifestyle of a rapper. They saw real people getting it and wanted to do what that close person was doing to get it. They learned how to hustle from a real person, not a song. If they had lawyers and doctors around them to see the same lifestyle that may have been the route they took but they saw what was around them which was similar to what was in music.
@imogvybes
@imogvybes 4 ай бұрын
@e-cityreloaded201 others life experience can open eyes to things they didn't know. Knowing right from wrong is taught. If you are not teaching kids that what they hear is wrong and not to do it, then they will do it. If you don't teach them how to achieve their goals but they use how someone else got what they want, they may try that same road. The lack of parenting and guidance does not transfer the responsibility to the artist (writer, actor, rapper, singer, wrestler, poet, etc).

And then it comes out that a certain 3letter agency funded the more destructive elements of hip-hop to intentionally bring disruption in the community. If that don't change how people look at making this type of music, I don't know what will.

@ashleyogarro2686 I can tell you that, I am not one of those who ignores the secret societies. Infact, I know all too well that they are in existence and have been for a long time. These secret societies have different levels and roles based on ethnicity where anyone of African descent only gets as high as Boulé gatekeepers! They are all sworn into Luciferian witchcraft and ritualistic lifestyles and ultimately given rental wealth in return as long as they don't wake up from the demonic hypnosis and go off script! Yes, these are modern-day plantation workers and they are only planted to promote glorified ignorance and premature death culture into the African psychological state of identity and ideologies in America and abroad! I've been in the entertainment industry so naah, I am not one of those who can ignore any of what you've spoken.

@LovehardFightharder_ 7 ай бұрын
Not expecting them to “act” saved, holding them accountable for perpetuating destruction to the community. You don’t have to be saved to have integrity and demonstrate healthy stewardship of human value. It’s called consideration and respect not to perpetuate degeneracy. Common sense for the human race.

@@CesareNero It’s not just about selling drugs and doing drive by’s though. It’s a degenerate mindset that most of these rappers glorify/perpetuate, murder, betrayal, violence, deception, greed, lust, hatred, etc. You can tell by the way they responded to him they were cut to heart by what he said and they know what he said was truth. They were upset and severely offended. Jim Jones went so far as to threaten DEE1 , implying he has a cousin that may not like DEE1 having Jim’s name in his mouth. That statement alone proved their degenerate mindset. How you threaten somebody for telling you to do better with your lyrical content? That’s dumb. He basically inadvertently proved DEE1’s point . Just arrogantly irrational.

I just stumbled across your podcast. I'm not sure. Have you guys heard of the U.K artist Dave. He's a young man. I think he's now 24 or 25. But he wrote an album called psychodrama. When he was between 17 and 18 was released 2019 and he won The British Music Award fir album of the year in 2020 and performed. A song called live on that award show called "Black" and his album is the way I think Rap in a America was started and should return to where it's storytelling, so he kind of talks along the same lines as American rappers. But it's storytelling based on his personal life and not glorification in what we would call the "Hood" of London, U.K. And so you have more respect for the art that he's doing but he does it more in a poetry style rap than what we know today where you create a beat first and then rap lyrics to fit the beat the way it is mostly done in a North America. I would love it if you guys as a more christian focused podcast could dyesect some of that album. If you haven't heard of him. He now has a second album out which is a continuation of his first album psychodrama. I think it's called heart attack and when you understand he's story telling his life and experiences he's encountered with family and friends, it's a very deepalbum about living in the hood and streets of South London So anyway, I just thought I would mention that based on the conversation you were having about how bad and demonic rap had become in the black community. If you do decide to further discuss rap and the future of it and if Dave's style is more in line with how you should talk about street lifewould recommend if you guys do decide to listen to. His work and to see his growth and progression as a poetry lyricist the order I would recommend listening to him in is to start when he was 17 with a live performance of Panic Attack, then onto his 1st album called "Psychodrama" He actually wrote all the piano music, did all the beats and wrote all the lyrics and the album artwork is him very talented young man and then got a producer to clean it up. And get him a music deal but he wrote his album in a story way. So you have to listen to it from the beginning to the end in order. It's actually like a therapy session, so it's it's deep. That's all I can say. If you have heard of him and discussed it let me know when you did that broadcast and I'll listen to. Thanks 😊
