The only way the other team could have won, was if the defense gifted them a bunch of yards.....and that's exactly what they did. So Carr and the offense had to go back on the field, with virtually no time left, to lead yet another game winning drive. Bc of how little time was left, Carr had to take chances, that's how it works. Unfortunately one didn't go his way and it got picked off. Fact is, if the defense hadn't given up a TD in record time, Saints win that game.

He's not hanging in to the ball too long, defenders are getting through bad pass blocking. Carr was actually graded as the best QB at avoiding sacks through week 11. That's not bc he's holding the ball too long 😅. Also, is you watch the tape, he's holding the ball as long as it takes the WR's to get open in their routes. He can't make them run their routes faster, or better. In fact, on that last play vs Rams, he's in the process of throwing, bc the WR was about to get open. These are designed routes, and Carr is supposed to throw to them at specific times. Don't parrot what you hear others say, bc it's dead wrong. If Carr is hanging on to the ball, it's bc the WR's haven't gotten open. Blame them for not getting open faster.....unless you think it's ok to throw picks as long as he's getting the ball out faster

@ excuse me, let me be specific, I meant right now. I would never say Carr was great, but he was definitely good enough to start early in his career. I would say he was a mid tier starting QB for years. It is well known that if he got hit a few times he’d get happy feet, or panic throw, otherwise he was pretty good. Not great. But someone you can get to the playoffs with if there’s talent on the roster. I’m speaking of modern times where he just isn’t that guy anymore, not consistently. Time catches up with everyone, as does injuries. There is that balance of youth/athleticism and experience/knowledge and Carr is at the end of experience/knowledge and that makes him valuable as a high tier backup. I think he would do really well in spot duty or picking up the reigns for a long stretch of games. He could really help a team.

In his third season, he’s having an MVP type season and would have went deep into the playoffs that year had he not broke his leg. That offseason he lost his OC and the following year another head coach. Then Gruden comes in with a total team rebuild. In 2018, his #1 receiver is the almost 40 year old Jordan Nelson. In 2019 the defense if pitiful and historically bad in 2020. In 2021, they were a top 5 offense until Ruggs and Gruden happened. But he still rallies the team to make the playoffs and should have beaten the Bengals at Cincinnati had the officials played it fairly. Then we all know what the idiot McDaniels did.

Honestly i wished the Raiders would of kept him but not for what he is getting paid. He is worth a little more than Minshew. I would take him back as a bridge qb if Saints take on half of his Salary while we develop Sanders or Cam ward.

I have told you time and again, Carr will always be able to give you lots of empty calories yards. He was Pro Bowl in 2016. He is injury-prone and that's a fact. This same narrative followed him with us (Raiders). He can win you games, but you aren't going to win a Super Bowl with Derek Carr. His best days are behind him.
