The story about Skinwalkers is pretty creepy but I can relate when it comes to creepy stuff since my hometown has a local legend about the ghost of a deformed three-legged woman that will run alongside any car that drives along an old back road on the far side of town and she will bash against the driver's side door until you reach a stop sign at the end of the road then she vanishes into thin air.

Damn. It sucks ass to have an elderly pet who’s healthy declining. I’m sorry girl. My heart goes out to you. I already deleted my Twitter account. I barely used it to begin with but all the better reason get rid of it. I know what QT is talking about. They’re incredibly dangerous and if talk about them or say their name especially in wooded areas because their drawn to their name. I’ve had experiences with them. It’s always terrible. A lot of people online have been calling them Flesh Pedestrians. Which is so funny😂 and accurate. It also helps them not be scary. Idk if it’s possible to get like your file or get your therapist to give her notes to your new therapist.
@GuineaPigEveryday Жыл бұрын
This is kinda specific to the Twitter but honestly, even if you barely use the social media app its just so freeing to delete it entirely. I had instagram for years as my main app, but now i don’t have friends on there and only use it for scrolling and looking at posts, and honestly im so relieved for deleting it. I hate the stress of getting replies to comments and idk why I had the habit of writing comments on posts so often, its not extreme opinions just random stuff, but the stress of getting replies was too much, its so good to delete it. If you barely use an app just get rid of it and save yourself the irritation. Ik QT removed herself from Twitch Reddit for the those sort of reasons.

I don’t know why but I really enjoy both when you guys are just talking about your lives and when you’re talking about your mental health. Maybe it’s just the fact that I can realize that even people who I feel like I wouldn’t be able to relate to have the same human issues as I do and to see a peak behind the curtain of what it looks like to “make it.” It’s nice to realize that everyone has shit to deal with no matter who they are and where they are in life.

I have a little spirit story as well. My mom told me the story actually, in my island they say that when you cross a certain part of a highway at night(this highway as no lights or anything it’s more like a 4 lane road) there would be two men flagging you down at the side of the road, asking for a ride. you’re meant to ignore them and continue driving. You will look into your rearview mirror and they will be sitting in the back of the car. You’re not meant to ask them how they are, you’re not meant to ask them where you’re going we’re not meant to ask them how they got in your car. You just have to drive and eventually they disappear if you do ask them where they’re going they will feel like they’re inconveniencing you and murder you. I’d have no idea this is like a common story but my mother told me it and my grandma also mentioned it.

usually affirmations dont work until ones worked through childhood trauma (source: a video i watched)
@ilovesoftball0005 Жыл бұрын
on the whole affirmations not working thing i totally understand why they said it. it actually makes a lot of sense. i feel like becoming just content with what’s happening and then LEARNING to transform it into why you want is definitely the route to take. even doing nothing at all besides acknowledging the way you’re feeling. mayas so right, the way i’ve done things in the past year is very much “i am filled with rage right now and i sadly just have to deal with it until something changes.” last year something really awful happened to me and i went through and anger bout for about 9 months where i was just mad. now i don’t think this is the best solution but maybe the perspective is on the right track. also! i write to someone famous i like while journaling so i can talk to someone because i feel like putting your feelings down on paper doesn’t help me so much as knowing someone’s at least listening. i know timothee chalamet isn’t reading what i wrote esp bc im not sending them to him lmao but it’s sort of the principle of it. i hope your health physical and mental get better qt
@maximilianmixa4968 Жыл бұрын
so as for journaling, i have some tips because i have felt the same way about journaling. one thing that made it feel more purposeful (not necessarily if its worth it or not), was to use this formula. write about your day, various thoughts and feelings etc, basically regular journal shit. then write one thing you did well that day, one thing you could improve, and finally how today lines up in the grand scheme of your life. its hard to admit we did things well or that we could do things better when we have the trauma that we have, but journaling is only as helpful as we let it be. it wont solve your problems, it might not make you feel better, but its about putting your thoughts on a piece of paper and using it as a script for the story of your life. the most important part of this formula is the grand scheme of your life part. it makes you think about if you did anything, and if you didnt, at least you survived to see another day. that is a victory enough. i hope this helps anyone reading and know you are loved
@apoe Жыл бұрын
i completely relate to maya's anxiety about finding a new therapist, i have had to deal with the same issue soo many times but if it's worth anything remember that there are resources that can help you! be diligent in your research while bearing in mind the specific types of therapy that have been most effective for you, find someone whose values align with yours -- for example i always make it a point to find a therapist who explicitly states that they are lgbtq+ friendly, and some will also publicly identify with certain religions, stuff like that. you can get real specific with your search on a lot of engines and reviews are a super helpful tool. of course, you can also ask your therapist for a recommendation if you haven't already! seeing that you trust her and feel she understands your needs that's a great option to consider. i hope it all goes well for you!!

Some advice for finding a new therapist I have is if it’s possible try meeting with new therapist while still meeting with your old therapist so you have support but can get used to new people, and talk about what you think of the new person. Ask your current therapist what type of modalities they use/think would be helpful for you and then use those as guidelines for finding new therapists. Psychology in Seattle, which is a youtube channel, has an episode about finding new therapists so you could also watch that to find more tips. (:
