I watched Spider-Man 3 recently, it was the Editor's Cut, but the scene I'm about to talk about was one of the scenes that wasn't changed. If you pay attention to what Eddie says before Spidey breaks his camera for what the hell reasons, Eddie says "This is exactly what I need to scoop Parker," as Eddie was planning on using those photos as the photos of Spidey sticking his hand in "the cookie jar." So Spidey destroyed Eddie's camera to prevent that from happening.

There was a special edition called Spider-Man 3: Editor's Cut, released in 2017 in USA. It features two more scenes with Black Suit Spiderman, Sandman appearing as a sand castle to his daughter, the alternate beginning of Peter and Harry fight at the Osborn Mansion, plus the order of the scenes is different. After Mary Jane break up with Peter in the theatrical cut he had a lunch with Harry where Harry revealed he was the one responsible for the breakup, leading to Peter deciding to use the costume definitely, facing and defeatng Harry and finally causing Eddie Brock to be fired. What happens in the Editor's Cut is after the break up Peter is at his apartment. He looks at the box he put the black suit and walk to there. When he opens it, you can see the costume "breathing". He touches it, smiling (a scene that was in the trailer, but cut from the actual movie). Then we have walking the street, with all the women look at him, he sees the newspaper with Eddie's photo, he causes Eddie's firing and then we have the scene with him in black suit in daylight. He then get back to his apartment and put the costume back in the box and he looks very exhausted. After this we get the restaurant scene with Peter and Harry, and after Harry disappears it cut right to the Osborn Mansion. Harry is preparing his drinks and when he turns around, Peter is laying down in the same bed he put Norman's body. The dialogue at first is a little different from the theatrical cut, with Peter saying "I'm really gonna enjoy this". Then we have the fight, Peter defeats Harry and then it cuts to the dance montage.

After reading the Novelization again. Here is Venom's original Death Scene. In the final battle, Venom reacts to the metal clanging after missing the strike to kill Peter. Spider-Man 3 could’ve been a masterpiece like the first two if it weren’t for Sony and their Venom boner But still , Sam Raimi handled it like a champ and made a great movie .. His Venom may not be comic accurate but Sam made Venom/Symbiote a key part of his “Revenge and Forgiveness” story, which is brilliant . My favorite scene in the movie is when Peter finally forgives Sandman . It is such a powerful scene. A thing that bothers me a bit in the movie is Harry’s amnesia . If would’ve been better if he was scheming behind the scenes after he figured out he can’t take out Peter physically . So he manipulates MJ and Peter’s relationship . That would make Harry’s death scene much more powerful because now they both hurt each other but they chose forgiveness over revenge . Maybe if Sam Raimi split Spider-Man 3 into two movies it could’ve been more fleshed out and with a better result.

I think releasing just the deleted scenes would help people understand the frustrations of trying to edit together a film. Some scenes work and others might muck up the pacing or was better left cut out of the film due to being a useless scene. Most of these scenes that were left unseen were probably the decisions of the studio and possibly the director. I didn't mind the vanilla cut and the editor's cut of Spider-Man 3, plus it sort of mirrors what happened behind the scenes of the first Spider-Man film. Hours of footage shot, 2 hours of footage used. Concepts created and kept or shelved, plot points re-edited, cutting the more adult oriented scenes (MJ flipping the bird at a car) out of the film, possibly cutting out more violent imagery, cutting out extended scenes that were a dull to the audience or were possibly cut out for timing, editing out Peter's mechanical web shooters in one short web shoot training in his room, creating new plot points to replace old ones that were scrapped and reanimating footage of Spider-Man swinging through the city. Not to mention cutting out the Twin Towers scene out of the film, of which you will see 1 frame and 1 frame only, of a helicopter in between the Twin Towers. A scene that would have made fans love Spider-Man even more if not for 9/11. We just need a supercut of the deleted scenes, whether they were completed or not. A supercut of the deleted scenes is all we need out of this.

The original plot Sam Riami had in mind did not involve Venom. Only Sandman and Harry were the main focus. Sony's official Avi Rad wanted to force Sam Riami to introduce Venom into the movie so that more toys and merch would sell. That's why Spiderman 3 was disappointing and Sam Riami wasn't interested in making any more spiderman films

There was also a comic book that came with the DVD of the movie that expanded Venom's role. After Eddie gets the black suit, he would've terrorized civilians in an alleyway while it's raining, and this would suddenly trigger voices, flashes, and images of everything in the first two movies and all of Peter's friends and enemies like Green Goblin, Doc Ock and even Bone Saw. Suddenly this is interrupted with the police pulling up in front of him where he's shot at and he realizes nothing can hurt him and has enough time to get away. It's here when he hallucinates, and sees Venom's hands as Spider-Man, and even sees himself in Peter's POV when he checks himself in the mirror in the first movie and another case where's wearing the costume in his apartment, and his POV of MJ during the park scenes in SM3 before the symbiote arrived.. The symbiote is essentially helping Eddie understand that Peter is Spider-Man through Peter's mind. There was also a scene where he stalks Gwen and wanders in her bedroom. And later on, Venom talks to MJ how Peter cheated on her with Gwen, and because of that, he felt betrayed and wanted to show her the same pain. Sandman gets in the way to explain Venom's plan has nothing on Spider-Man himself but jealously on someone else (since Sandman doesn't know Peter.) And we even get a brief moment where we see Eddie inside of the suit where the suit explains Spider-Man's coming, and Eddie replies "How do you know?" and Venom responds "We can feel him..." while sticking his tongue out at MJ.

They honestly should’ve worked in the whole Dr. Wallace subplot in there and take out the amnesia subplot. Just have Harry go into hiding after the first fight and have him not hit his head, just have him get away. Also include the sandman sandcastle scene with his daughter. Then they should’ve worked in the Spider-Man landing on the taxi and Eddie taking the picture. Also Eddie talking to Gwen before peter takes her out to dinner would’ve gave him more motivation.Also add Eddie saying “I take no responsibility” in the church. Along with mj comforting Harry and the picture frame scene after peter begs him for help. I think those scenes could’ve extremely impacted the movie in the best way possible without being too much longer

Having Eddie say that he takes no responsibility in the church would have been a little too on the nose in my opinion, I think it would have been better for him to say that he doesn’t know why these bad things keep on happening to him after the Gwen scene, it would have added a little bit of subtlety to that scene along with showing us Eddie’s self-pity at that moment even though it was all his own fault

Novelizations many times include scenes never meant to be in the movie. The author of spiderman 1's novelization said he wrote several scenes that were never gonna be in it. Might be the same here. Great video all in all though

I think they could have gotten by, by giving the Symbiote a Blue/Purple Sheen. Kinda like the comics, the final versions don't even look Black. All the Black looking Suits are CGI. The Scenes where they actually use physical suits all have a dark grey colour. The only scene that doesn't is the one where Spidey smashes Eddie's Camera. I think that was an entirely different suit that was used just for that scene. I think had they gone with the all black latex, then they should have used bright white highlights. Notice the physical suit is Black and Silver. They could have gone with White Emblem, the squares on the fists. Maybe they could have made the middle of the fingers white too.

Spectacular Spider-Man did that, when he first gets the suit it looks identical to the design of Spider-Man 3. As the episodes continue, the web pattern disappears and the spider gets bigger, becoming the comic design until he removes it

When Peter was ripping the symbiote off, they could have actually made venom retaliate more. They could have made it more aggressive by having teeth protruding from the symbiote during the removal. It would make the symbiote look much more dangerous than it originally seemed at the start. Also, it could help the scene put viewers on the edge of their seats. Then again, I don't think the movie would be very PG after that. They could have made it even more threatening though, if they added a part where the symbiote tried to suffocate parker.

I think the closest thing to a Spider-Man 3.1 is the fan edit known as Spider-Man 3.1: The Hybrid Cut which combines the theatrical cut, the Editor's Cut and trailer shots like the extended Symbiote transformation and Venom in the mirror

In regards to the spider scene, it was actually a cut scene where the symbiote bonds with Peter. Before bonding with Peter the symbiote moved throughout Peter's room and encounters a spider and kills it violently.

I love how a lot of scenes from spiderman 3 are heavily based off spiderman 90s animated series. Some scenes are ripped directly from it. Peter lying in bed as the symbiote latches onto him, peter hanging upside down in the black suit, venom appearing in peters reflection, the church bell scene, hell arguably even the dancing scene are all either inspired by or directly taken from the animated show.

I think the chimes of serenity are a forshadowing of peter banging the bell to take off the symbiote and spiderman hitting the metal poles to stop venom at the end, peter even hits all of the poles at the same time like you would do with chimes

the gag where tobey is making silly faces in front of the blue screen was actually gonna be a scene meant for peter’s nightmare during his black suit transformation. in the novelization, peter dreams about uncle ben’s death but with flint marko killing him and peter sees this and runs to uncle ben as he’s laying there and facing away from peter. peter rolls uncle ben over to see him and uncle ben’s face is almost zombified as the novel says that maggots and bugs crawl out of uncle ben’s empty eye sockets and mouth. this movie had so many disturbing scenes and visuals that it could’ve easily been considered a superhero horror film. but i can see why this scene was definitely left out since this would’ve been wayyy too disturbing and horrifying for 5 year old kids to see in the theaters lol

I remember that when they were planning TASM 1, the plan was to make a new trilogy, then when they were planning a quadrilogy prior to making of the second movie, with Sinister Six and Venom to be released in between. The second didn't go the way Sony wanted and they fired Andrew Garfield, postponing The Amazing Spider-Man 3 to 2018 and in the place of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 we would've got in 2016 Sinister Six.

Your point on Gwen's house was actually in the novel to an extent. Eddie went for sympathy, got denied by Gwen cause she was angry he framed Spidey, he got a bit creepily forward with her, Captain Stacy tells him to beat it and Eddie mopes off. Captain Stacy says to Gwen to be careful who she dates, which influences her to let Peter take her out as he's a good guy. Thus, the Jazz club happens. It built all character involved and its why I keep going back to the novel.

The deleted scene of Peter with the little boy is actually cool I think because while a sweet moment, it’s a subtle underscoring of his ego getting in the way of keeping his two lives separate, which is what drove the conflict with MJ (Peter using Spider-Man to try relating to her) Harry, and Sandman (He uses the black suit to overpower them for revenge).

For the 15th or 20th anniversary of the film, they should get all of these deleted aspects of the film (that are available) and put them where they were supposed to be in the original film. Most of the scenes you talk about in this video were cut because of pacing but since this would just be an anniversary cut, it wouldn’t matter as much. And maybe they could edit the black suit to make it more comic accurate. I don’t know if that can be done and look good but if it is possible by then, might as well. They could also make some changes to small things like Venom’s voice and better CGI in the fight with Peter and Harry. They should do the same with TAS2 as well. Anyways, this will probably never happen.

Personally I would have liked Spidey to keep the black suit until the very end of Spider-Man 3, having the church scene at the end. I would have kept New Goblin, but replaced Sandman with Electro, and had Spider-Man 4 be all about Venom, so we could have seen both sides of the character and not have him just stashed in there.
