I have a Jeep Cherokee Overland. I have it with the 2.0L turbo. Its great, as soon as I pulled it off the lot I took it on a trip up north about 500 KM from where I reside. It was fantastic with it's all season tires. And in truth I only chose it because I rented out the Grand Cherokee and fell in love with Jeep. The Cherokee works better for my familial circumstances with the varying age groups and mobility concerns, the Grand Cherokee was too high up for people to climb into. Thank you for doing this review, for some reason the Cherokee Overland doesn't get much love on youtube, glad you took the time. Cheers!

I own an Overland. Here in Mexico the only engine available is the V6 3.2. I like the exhaust sound of the engine, but the fuel economy is a little bit worse. No drive modes, but it have all the safety features and a panoramic sunroof. I used to own a 2014 Latitude with the 2.4 Multi air. A great update in terms of driving with the V6. Great review! Good looking inside and out. I am a V6 fan. I tried the 2.0 liter in Wrangler and was not impressed. Seriously why would I take a Cherokee overland over a lower trim Grand Cherokee with more capability and better ride and engine transmission?

@@BrianMakse Will do.... I lean toward imports for most of my life... Currently we have a Audi A6 S, an Infiniti QX56 and my sons driving a Scion FSX which he loves... When I owned my own business I used to write off my cars so I ended up leasing a lot of different vehicles. Porsche 911, 911 Targa, 911 Turbo, BMW M6, BMW M5, Range Rovers SE & Sports and my first sports car when I was in High School was a Datsun 1600 convertible which I traded in on one of the first Datsun 240Z to come into the Pacific Northwest! ! I've always enjoyed sports cars ! I look forward to your comments and videos and Yes I will let you know my thoughts! Take care mate and stay safe!

I test drove Cherokee Limited's with the 2.0, 2.4 and the 3.2 last year. Before I even got out of the parking lot, it was apparent. Harsh, harsh and smooth. The 2.0 and 2.4 are unrefined. The 3.2 is about as good as you get with an FCA engine. There may be extra sound-deadening insulation in the Overland, but why pay extra for the inferior 2.0 powerplant?

That's a great question and I didn't address it because I've never driven the little motor. IIRC, the Pentastar really suits the Cherokee.

You didn't mention the V-8 Hemi engine option, though you did state there are three engine options. I LOVE the Hemi in my 2020 Overland!

@@BrianMakse Brian - My understanding is the Overland is only available in the Grand Cherokee, at least in the 2020 models, and I would doubt it would've been any different a year ago. Please check out the jeep website and click on the Cherokee for the models offered, and then click on the Grand Cherokee for models offered. I do remember you stating the car you were reviewing had three engine options - the four-cylinder, the six-cylinder and the ?. Clearly you're the expert. You caught me putting fake Overland badges and embroidering Overland into the upholstery of this Cherokee. It was really expensive to do this.

@@BrianMakse Brian - I am no expert, but you wrote, "a V8 isn't available in the Cherokee. You must have a Grand Cherokee." Yes, I have a Grand Cherokee Overland 4WD with a V8 Hemi engine in it. The Overland is only available in the Grand Cherokee, so obviously you were reviewing a Grand Cherokee, and not a Cherokee. BTW, if you did do that stitching, I am very impressed!

@@horseytoo no actually this is a Cherokee. I have a 2018 Cherokee overland. In the video he stated overland models in the Cherokee have been discontinued in the US

@@BrianMakse nowadays...true ... early 90s American cars lost it's credibility a lot ... however, GMC Yukon, chevy Tahoe SUVs and trucks and then ford F150 are still pretty solid and the way to go. Almost 65% of each houses have Yukon or Tahoe 😂😂😂 it's big deal here Small cars segment TOYOTA was the only player but Hyundai is now the same or actually higher. One company goes up the other goes down. Factors are pretty clear. People want new tech in their cars but TOYOTA is not upgrading cus its reputation is extremely high in reliability however in the same time its reputation for lacking comfort in their cars getting way higher than before so they are losing in that segment to american and korean cars. Can you imagine Land cruiser is big notch SUV with bad suspension horrible gas mileage set up still a king of its own. People main factor to good car is reliability. No matter what you offer. Less than 35 yrs old who wanted small cars tend to go for comfy with good reliability record in a brand. No way they go to TOYOTA anymore. Camry was the king but now Hyundai and kia are killing it. Nissan only Patrol exist with a couple of small suvs i think you call it crossover the rest is going down very bad. Its the most comfy brand that is not luxury brand. No ques3for that for me. I believe Tahoe and basically GMC if they work on their suvs with diesel cus its the deal now could outsells every brand cus they know how to do it. TOYOTA failed TOTALLY in diesel cars. Isuzu small truck and suv that both diesel you can't get it before six months cus of high demand and that was last year... not sure the case now. I love the comfy, strong 8 cylinder American suvs it's amazing and we as saudis are part of our history cus grand father and father always have them and once someone has three kids it was well known to own a Yukon or Tahoe... sorry for long chat but full of database ... i could make GMC a successful company lol

This car is not reliable, still have transmission issues. Don’t buy it without warranty!!
