I want to go to cornell, but not because of the fact that it’s close to where I live or one of my family members went there, no one I know has went to an Ivy League, and I live in Europe so it’s not close, but it has one of the best law majors and that’s what I wanna do so I hope that if I work hard enough, I can get an scholarship

Sofia Vargas obviously have good grades but I would say what ever your passion is, really show that on your application so they know who you are as a person. Your resume and essays should be able to tell readers a story. So be involved and commit to activities that make you happy!

Class of '92 here. I've found myself watching Cornell vids, because of both the hockey team's NCAA playoff game today and an impending visit to Cornell for my wife's ( '94 ) 30th reunion has me nostalgic. Anyway, I'm glad some things never change and they still call Okenshields by the name Okensh*t ( we also called in Chokenshields back in the day ). I guess there is no longer a "Sage Dining" option at Sage Hall. Sage used to be the best place to get food Monday-Friday on the central part of campus ( They served a "McRib"-style sandwich ).

Pro tip: best food on campus can be found at the Atrium Cafe in Sage Hall / Johnson School of Management, be sure to get the chips and pickle with your sandwich (just say no to carrots), the P.H.D. spicy eggplant sandwich is fantastic, the Reuben a close second.

The black bean quesadillas at Trillium used to be the objective best food on campus until they screwed with the recipe and started using those shitty inferior black beans, and since they replaced the 'salsa or sour cream' lady... just hasn't been the same since.

I went through Chem E at this school, jeezus, I’ll be real, it was a complete nightmare, it’s understandable that you have dream schools. Just make sure you have the academic skill set in what you are trying to achieve. In their STEM programs, if you don’t have the fundamentals of upper level math and science mastered you will not pass point blank. Other schools may let you slide on certain topics you don’t understand, but not this school. I was one of the few in my original class that completed the program, most dropped or transferred to out of state uni’s with less stringent req’s for the same major. Bottom line if you go to Cornell for STEM you better have your A game on day one, not gonna lie, I’m glad I did it, but if I knew what I was getting myself into (near death stress) I would have went to a state college. Good luck (insert evil laugh) you’ll need it!

Agreed, as a fellow rising sophmore I can say with confidence North Star at Appel is WAY better than RPCC. I actually worked at Appel last year, and while I'm on west this fall I'm still gonna be doing shifts there so I can get meals there on the west plan which limits meals off west lol.

Hi Katie!! I love your videos but for this I just want to clear up a possible misconception. At about 3:15 you said that one can always downgrade your meal plan, which is not true according to: living.cornell.edu/dine/mealplans/apply-for-a-meal-plan.cfm. For Fall 2019, the deadline for reducing the meal plan is Sep 11, 2019. You can always *upgrade* your meal plan though. For this reason I feel like it's always better to start with a lower plan and then upgrade as you wish. So to all the freshmen out there, don't get this information wrong!!! Don't get stuck with a meal plan you're not suited for :)
