Although it has nothing to do with her character and instead is all about how the movie is directed but I guess him saying "incomprehensible black widow action" _at the very least_ comes from somewhere since yes, as many have stated, modern action films tend to be shot in a way that doesn't really make the action easy to understand. But, then again, it's far from being exclusive to her, as far as I know...

The thing I love most about the Captain America vision that you actually missed out on is that it's basically a very accurate representation of what PTSD would have looked like for Steve in that time. The bright flash of the camera makes him flinch because it looks to close to an explosion. The noise in the dance hall is distorted and disorienting because the only other time he's heard noise that loud is on the battlefield. The men are laughing, but Steve keeps seeing them as bleeding from gunshot wounds because that's how he's used to seeing them. It's not just that he can't go back, it's that even if he did he couldn't really be there the way he could before the war. And it's not just Scarlet Witch who's messing with his mind, it's his own mind as well.

It should also be noted that even in Steve's "Happy Memory" Despite it being a post war celebration, he has trouble seeing things as what they actually are. The man with the wine stain getting wiped up makes him think of someone trying to care for a bullet wound, the constant flashing of cameras, the corks of champagne evoking gunshots. All of this coupled with the inability to live without war doesn't come off as a Happy Memory. But when has cinamasins ever put the time into actually dissecting a movie and its scenes.

I'm tired of hearing how Black Widow and Hawkeye have "no powers". Hawkeye has preternatural aim -- he's _superhumanly_ proficient with that bow. Black Widow has the combat prowess of legendary martial arts characters (you know, the ones you complain about all the wire work and unrealistic power and speed), not to mention her psychological manipulation skills, and extensive knowledge and experience in spy craft. They do heroic things that normal people can't do. That's a superhero.
@TurbhoeHDRemix

Chill out, she's not on par with LEGENDARY masters. She's not on the level of Bruce Lee, Karate Kid (DC Comics not the movie.), or Batman. She'd get punked by Deadpool. And yeah spies are cool, but there is a reason the US doesn't send in CIA Agents when shit hits the fan. That's just not what spies do. There is a reason Russia has an army and not just a bunch of super spies to fight their wars. Spies are cool, but soldiers fight battles. Soldiers are trained to kill. It's literally the entire point of their training. For espionage and stealth, a majority of training is to avoid being detected altogether and to accomplish things behind the scenes. It's not all asskicking and it's a lot more boring than you'd think. That's because if you're getting caught and having to fight out of situations all the time....you're a shitty spy.

superstringcheese people complain when she is thrown into city wide battles where she has no place being. 24:41. You’re discussion of how Quicksilver perceives everything, including conversations, in slow motion, was wonderfully written by Peter David in an X-Force comic, I believe his last issue as writer, in which Quicksilver is asked why he’s always rude to everyone, and his response is “you know how frustrated you get when you’re waiting at an ATM behind someone who doesn’t know how to use an ATM? That’s what every interaction with everyone else feels like to me.” Nice observation.

They pay enough attention to sin the movie for a plot point they were told and missed, and then sin the movie again for the plot point they missed earlier apparently not making sense to them in a different context. See - "didn't you take the scepter?" when SHIELD of course did, and SHIELD was compromised by HYDRA; and set that against the later sin (both featured in this video) where Hawkeye talks about his off-grid family and sins actually talks about SHIELD being compromised as a reason why this doesn't make sense. Shaun and Jen is a channel that made a handful of "everything wrong with cinemasins" videos and found several examples of these wholly contradictory sins in their "everything wrong with everything wrong with Mad Max" video. Humorously, by using Cinemasins' own criticism of two statements made in the film that they thought were contradictory.

Something I've said in many circles, that concept is lost on many ignorant fans. Otherwise why give them super powers if they are a means for fans to get off on fawning over. What is the point on making them superheroes if what matters is the powers. That's like saying what matters to being a cop is a gun. Or what matters to being a fire fighter is that fire ax or water hose. What matters to being a data analyst is their keyboard. The powers are a tool to a superheroes JOB not WHO they are.

As you can see with character like Muman Rider from One Punch Man, what matters the most isn’t how powerful a hero is, it’s how strong their will is to protect the innocent and uphold justice. Anyone can be a hero if they’re willing to risk their own safety to save someone else, and it’s this selflessness that truly makes them special and useful regardless of ability. Also from a narrative standpoint, we don’t connect and sympathize with characters because of their abilities, we care about them because of who they are, their fears, hopes, and convictions. So it really shouldn’t matter how powerful a character is, only how they’re written.

13:34 It's also establishing just what kind of a villain Ultron is and how disturbed he is. Throughout the movie, Ultron says Biblical quotes and makes reference to God with lines such as "Upon this rock I will build my church", "swift and terrible sword", "Ask Noah", and "When the Earth starts to settle, God throws a stone at it." This is indicative that Ultron basically sees himself as God, far above the rabble of humanity and capable of creating and ending life on a whim.

Honestly I respect that. Like, at the end of the one for Cabin in the Woods, one of his responses to the "CinemaSins is just a parody/satire of nitpicky joyless movie reviews" is "if CinemaSins had a point to make about THAT, they would've been capable of making it within a dozen or so videos, and wouldn't need to keep churning out bullshit critiques of more and more movies." So the fact that bobvids stopped responding to everything CinemaSins did actually lends credence to his assertion that he criticized CinemaSins because he had a coherent objection to their whole operations model. Once he made his point about what was wrong with the way CinemaSins does things, the fact that CinemaSins continued doing those things didn't require him to keep rehashing those criticisms, because they clearly apply to the new CinemaSins videos just as well as to the previous ones. (Also, it provides another favorable comparison between the two series: CinemaSins does whatever the hell they want, then says "it's just satire" after the fact to deflect criticism; Everything Wrong With Everything Wrong With says "X is how you make an effective satire" and then _does X,_ even when that means turning down an obvious source of pageviews.)

In regards to the Scarlet Witch criticism, while she is incredibly powerful, she's not a character who can do everything. Her powers take concentration and focus in order to use, and if she's stuck using her powers to do something huge in the middle of a huge freaking battle with no one to back her up, then she's doomed. She needs a team to back her up, and vice-versa. That's what a team is: A group of individuals who work together, covering for everyone's weak points, and providing assistance when it's needed.

Hansbald First off, he is the farthest thing from a puppet of the government. His entire arc over the course of the films has been him learning to distrust the government, which eventually leads to him becoming an outlaw. And even when he did work for them (which was only in one film and a fraction of another), he was not a "puppet." He worked via his own ideals and his own agency. Secondly, the powers are not what makes him Captain America, It's his heart. That sounds cheesy, but it's true. He was chosen due to his selflessness and bravery, his drive and ideals. The powers are not what makes Captain America what he is.

So Natasha is weak? Natasha has received the Red Room's variant of the Super-Soldier Serum. As a result, her physical and mental abilities had been enhanced slightly beyond human limits. The Black Widow is a world class athlete, gymnast, acrobat, aerialist capable of numerous complex maneuvers and feats, expert martial artist (including karate, judo, ninjutsu, aikido, savate, various styles of kung fu, and boxing), marksman, and weapons specialist as well as having extensive espionage training. She is also an accomplished ballerina. Her agility is greater than that of an Olympic gold medalist. She can coordinate her body with balance, flexibility, and dexterity easily. The Black Widow has been enhanced by biotechnology that makes her body resistant to aging and disease and heals at an above human rate; as well as psychological conditioning that suppresses her memory of true events as opposed to implanted ones of the past without the aid of specially designed system suppressant drugs. Due to the Super-Soldier Serum, the white blood cells in her body are efficient enough to fight off any microbe, foreign body and others from her body, keeping her healthy and immune to most, if not all infections, diseases and disorders. Her bodily tissues have been augmented to superhuman development. She possesses exceptional durability, strength, endurance, and stamina. Natasha's reaction time is similarly enhanced and functions with the peak of human efficiency and capability, bordering on superhuman level. It is possible for Natasha to dodge a bullet even at point blank range. - Wikipedia -> Black Widow -> Powers

The thing about cinemasins is that they don't watch the movie they're reviewing more than once. I don't know this for an absolute fact but I'm almost 100% sure of it. A lot of his "I'm so confused" moments are ones you might miss if you're watching a movie for the first time, especially while taking notes. This is why 90% of commentary channels rewatch what they're reviewing more than once, so they don't miss anything.

I'm just gonna throw out that if Pietro is anything like Wally, then his perception is at normal speed until he actively shifts up. Sometimes it's an unconscious instinct, which is why he's suddenly geared up to Super Speed when Clint fires the gun. I imagine what happened is the instant he heard the gunshot he instinctively shifted up to Speed Mode without realizing it.

As fun as the elevator theory is, I have my own. Tony does indeed have a finger print scanner in the elevator, but Steve's taking so long isn't because he's a dick, but because he wanted the elevator to work the same as it would have in Steve's own time. So that's why it actually takes that long and Steve gets to say his piece because that's the only elevator in the world that works how he remembers elevators working. Edit: Also for number 52 I'd argue that no, Banner isn't influencing the Hulk. Instead we get a moment to understand that yes, the hulk is for the first time seeing the consequences of his actions. When him and the Hulkbuster are fighting, he's full of so much fury that he doesn't care. It was only when he's on the ground, looking up does he see all of the 'puny humans" suffering and in fear from him. The Hulk is his own man independent of Banner and we've seen at least in passing, that Hulk himself also has empathy and morals. All of that, along with him turning off the Natasha message is foreshadowing for Thor Ragnarok and the idea that the Hulk isn't some mindless rage machine. But a thinking, feeling, human being that sometimes makes bad decisions because he allows his emotions to get the better of him. He both is and isn't Banner's rage, but rather an alternate version of Banner that is more emotionally honest with himself, but not as developed socially.

How are the cinemasins videos sexist? Most of them are jokes and is it bad to appreciate a womens body?
@benjaminsnider997
@benjaminsnider997 5 жыл бұрын
They're sexist because they have no legitimate reason to criticize Black Widow other than because she is a woman so that's weird that she can fight other people. The "joke" of "scene does not include a lap dance" that bobvids includes in the beginning establishes that point as it literally only serves to treat a woman as an object for sexual pleasure. I'm guessing you're a guy so let's say you starred in a movie and the only comments you got about your performance were: "why didn't they show his penis", wouldn't you feel kind of belittled as a human being? These things aren't jokes - I'm sure I would have appreciated them when I was 12 years old but I'm a big boy now and I understand that they literally only serve to comment on her sex appeal. And yes, of course it's not bad to appreciate a person's body, but you should be able to do more than just point at a person and go "she is hot". Whereas CinemaSins gives criticisms about all of the other male characters' intentions and actions, he basically just says "Why is this woman fighting when she should be stripping in front of me" whenever he sees Black Widow. Basically every comment about her is either criticizing her ability to fight other people or joking about sex. The fact that bobvids can point out 7 times where CinemaSins has no legitimate reason for hating Black Widow kind of shows that's it's more than he just hates Hawkeye and Black Widow for being "weak".

Missed a point in: How did Quicksilver get shot? Bullets crawl in speed to him, he could've saved the kid without getting hit once. We *see* him watch bullets move as if they're barely moving, and yet the thing that kills him are... regular bullets. It's something that always made that scene lose weight to me
@matthewmuir8884
@matthewmuir8884 Жыл бұрын
Ultimately, Quicksilver got shot because they needed to rewrite it so that he dies. The original deal the MCU had with Fox (this was before Disney bought almost all of Fox) was that both of them could use both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. But, during the development of this movie, the contract broke down to the MCU getting Scarlet Witch and Fox getting Quicksilver.

There was a cloud of dust in the air, he couldn't actually see where most of the bullets were. He couldn't risk making the wrong move and having the kid's body collide with one of them at superspeed, it would have been lethal. Also, let's not forget that he's very young and wasn't prepared for any of this. He had helped a monster bring in the destruction of his hometown and - nearly - his whole world, and everything Hydra had told him turned out to be a lie. I think he, at that moment, wanted to die a hero. Furthermore, earlier in the movie we had been shown twice that Pietro's awareness of his environment is not absolute. First, in the scene when Tony/Bruce/Hawkeye get into a fight with Pietro/Wanda/Cap over the Cradle, Clint shoots the glass floor from under his feet and Pietro is caught off guard. Later, during the Sokovia battle, we are shown in slow motion how one of the city police's bullets nicks his shoulder while he's distracted. They had to kill him off for legal reasons, yes, but I'd argue that it was set up pretty well. Not to mention the "What? You didn't see that coming?" running joke they shared with Clint that packed a ground shattering punch. Do you remember how everything, everything was pointing out at Clint's imminent death? I do. I think I screamed a little at this moment.

Wow, Jeremy seems to watch movies strictly with the intention of (negatively) criticizing them. Obviously you’re not gonna enjoy every movie you see but I’ve watched several clips of his car rides. Notice he never has anything positive to say. It’s like he’s just trying to point out as many negative things he can think of. And something tells me he’s been doing that long before CinemaSins. More proof that CinemaSin is in fact Jeremy, not a “character.” Imagine watching a movie only to discuss all the things you *_didn’t_* like about it or were confused about.

One thing I'd like to point out is that Black Widow actually does have powers. It's never explicitly stated in any of the movies (that I know of), but when she was in the red room as a child, she was given a version of the super soldier serum. It didn't work as well as Steve's or Bucky's (of course), but she is still much stronger than average and can withstand more than a regular person. This is canon in the comics and is implied in the movies.

*Alright I wasn't going to say this because it is definitely a valid nitpick that they didn't bother explaining these things in the movie, but if you are curious of whatever, here are the answers to the Quicksilver questions:* 1. The fact that the whole world is so slow to Quicksilver actually greatly contributes to his personality, and the reason he has such a quick temper in the comics. I think Avengers Academy was the best to describe it most recently in a documentary watched by one of the characters; "Imagine there's a long line at the post office, so you go to use their automated machine. But the person in front of you can't figure out how it works. They're pressing the wrong buttons... hitting 'cancel and starting all over again. While you know you could complete both their transaction and yours in under thirty seconds. That's what every moment of every day is like for Quicksilver." 2. Quicksilver talking very quickly to the point of others not being able to understand him is a reoccurring gag in the comics as well, particularly when he's stressed, there are no spaces between his words and sometime his face is blurred because his mouth is moving so fast.

Bless you for these, man, ever since the Ultron review specifically I began to see through the "jokes" and realize just how utterly incompetent Cinemasins is, and every video they did afterward it would drive me nuts that they simply do NOT pay attention to the plot and pretend it's ok because "jokes". I outright refuse to watch them anymore and I'm sad it took so long. The Captain America "telepathy" nitpick they made ALONE was so mindlessly stupid it should have been enough for ANYONE to realize they aren't in these for the art of review, just cheap clicks to fill their wallets.

Man, it's weird how Cinema Sins can't pay attention to anything or understand that different characters and cool super hero gear have different utility, but all actual movie mistakes like CGI screwups and editing mistakes are not "cinema sins". Filmmakers not understanding film's language, introducing characters and plot elements and then dropping them, treating the audience like idiots - those are cinema sins, or rather the sins of cinema. Stuff what filmmakers shouldn't ever do. Great job on the video, can't imagine how much work you had to put into it. I haven't payed that much attention when I was watching, so congrats.
