Fun fact that nobody will see and I don't need to share: The end of Iron Man 3 is the only time I've ever found Gwyneth Paltrow attractive. This is significant to me because I have never been able to understand why. She is just so enrapture-ing-ly beautiful from after getting that explosion virus till the end credits of that film and then just normal billionaire pretty everywhere else. Is this just me?

i can see what you mean, but bloober team has not faced any legal issues so far which means one of three things 1 - they bought the rights to everything in the game 2 - no one is aware of the refferences and assets used 3 - nobody gives a shit. take your pick. Besides all that, its very difficult to come up with original ideas taking inspiration and copying has a very thin line and crossing it is pretty much unavoidable. horror as much as i hate to say it has become stereotypical (spooky house/mansion/hallway/ship/cabin etc, where a creepy ass lady is "chasing" you) and that is pretty much the gameplay. As for the story (suicide/murder that ties into the supernatural with a very edgy twist or ending for shock value) boom the horror game formula of today.

i see where you say it isnt funny, but i think the videos they make are very specific not a critic, sins are not what makes a film bad or good, i think if they "got better" at their jobs it would ruin the main fun of the channel

I have watched one (1) video of them, so I don't know much about them, but I think the points this video make are kind of the point of SinemaSins videos. As in, I feel like the point of the CinemaSins videos is to be stupid, "nerdy", disconnected, satirical, way too oblivious to proper story telling and stylistic means etc. They just don't do it well. The concept in itself is stupid to some people, but could be entertaining for others. Making videos focusing on how realistic a movie about a giant star and people with super powers sounds fun to watch, if done correctly. But they do it so poorly that is just seems unnecessary to watch. I as the viewer can make up my own dumb jokes, so why watch a CinemaSins video? I think the guy that does game sins in German does it way better. He actually is genuinely funny and uses things like "xyz cliché" or "xyz company intro" in a good way.

Can anyone explain what the criticism is against CinnemaSins? I don't know if I'd call it satire, or parody. It's just funny nitpicking. But are there actually people that takes it seriously? People who sees this channel as valid criticism aren't the kind of people I would take seriously. A person who criticizes Arrival because there's no action "like in Avengers 1" isn't someone I take movie recommendations form. Save with someone who criticizes Schindler's List because it's black and white and they should "get with the times". And I don't take CinnemaSins seriously because it nitpicks everything in a sort of comedic way. And no, I didn't finish this video cause of IRL stuff. Got like 2 minutes in then waved it to Watch Later. So can someone give me a rundown?

I’ve always had a soft spot for cinemasins. They introduced me to movie criticism, they got me thinking “hey yeah there are things wrong with these movies. I didn’t notice until you said something.” I started consuming more youtube channels that did this and loved seeing everything picked apart. It honestly made me appreciate movies that didn’t do the sins even more. Ironically it was cinemasins themselves that pushed me away from them. Cause they did the original Star Wars trilogy. It was the first time I saw them remove sins for things the movie did well. And it felt really cool and fun that a movie could do something so good we actually took sins away. I liked acknowledging what movies did well, to acknowledge the good with the bad. But cinemasins never did that. And if they did it was because the court of public opinion already deemed the movies they reviewed as good, so they couldn’t be 100% critical. They were just feeding the masses whatever they already loved. They were an echo chamber. Over the years there are so many youtubers now that acknowledge the good with the bad. They give me ideas that allow movies to be something I chew on and analyze and have a deeper appreciation for. And while I changed the way I saw movies, cinemasins didn’t. They approached all their movies from the perspective of looking for flaws. If you’re looking for sins you’ll find it. Some of the old KZbinrs I watched grew out of this mindset and their new content is so much better for it. But cinemasins didn’t, and thats sad

A person who i liked who made cinemasins parodies was LittleshyFIM, because he did My Little Pony sins videos and a lot of the sins are more animation-error based and are more entertaining to me than the actual Cinemasins. Plus he puts an *analysis mode* tag at the top if he's making a more serious point.

Another channel I would recommend over CinemaSins is Cody Leach. He is not a nitpicky asshole. He provides pretty fair criticism. He lists both the good and the bad of every movie he reviews which is the best way for any critic.

Genuine question. Why would I *want* to change? No matter what I do, I'll be called racist and transphobic unless I blindly, submissively and obediently comply with any and every policy, ideal, or viewpoint regardless of how I feel about it. Won't lie. I am largely indifferent to Cinema Sins as a channel. Been years since i watched his videos. I find his level of quality to be roughly on par with Watch Mojo. Good for background noise and perhaps a bit of a chuckle on occasion. But hardly worthy of any loyalty from me. I say this so you know I'm not just another fan coming to defend him just cos. Maybe he is as bad as you say. Really, I don't care. That said, your arguments aren't really as convincing as you seem to think they are.

the guy used to point out plot holes and poor edits, but nowadays just stuffs the entire video of things he just doesn't like. In older videos he did it maybe thrice a video, like in Iron Man how he said Mac and Windows on the same screen made him cringe. But for the most part he stayed discipled. He can't do a single video of "Every Sin of X movie in 7 minutes or less" not because modern movies have more plot holes, but because he's becoming a prick.
