A few things to note: 14:32 I hope I'm not coming off as hostile to this one random dude who left a comment on my video. I always find myself getting so frustrated with these channels that seem to exist for the sole purpose of sucking this show off and convincing as many people as they can that the show is actually more genius than the creators ever intended. HOWEVER, there's an equal argument to make that this guy (and others like him) are just looking at other peoples' opinions and realizing that the "flaws" they had in their heads might not actually be flaws at all and that there are other ways to appreciate the show that they hadn't noticed before. I guess it depends on who you ask. Maybe I'm being unfair again and I overstepped a little with this point. 10:23 I originally wanted to leave in the full clip of this scene because the lengthy romantic fireworks make the final joke so much funnier. BUT, I got hit with a content ID for the music and I lost the appeal, so I had to trim it down. And now, here are all of the various different shows that I showed clips of over the course of this video, in order of appearance. All shows are on Crunchyroll, except where noted. *Kaguya-sama: Love Is War* I didn't actually play a clip of this one, but it was on one of the posters that I showed in that one frame and I had to give it a mention because this show has an incredible cast of characters and is the single funniest show that I have ever seen. Also, the dub is equally as good as the sub. Ian Sinclair's English narration alone might even make it better. *Tomo-Chan Is a Girl* The other anime that I showed a poster of but didn't show any clips of. Misuzu and Carol are infinitely more entertaining than the two lead characters. I didn't finish this one. *Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro* This anime has one of the most misleading premieres of all time. Nagatoro is absolutely horrible to the main character in the first episode. HOWEVER, if you can just get through that first episode, she never acts that cruelly ever again, and the eventual chemistry that the two characters share is so cute and sweet that it's almost enough to distract you from the author's obvious humiliation fetish. I didn't get far into this one, but I've seen a ton of clips and I get why people like it. *Komi Can't Communicate (Netflix)* This show has a big tiddie classmate that wants Komi to treat her like a dog and an out of place yandere character that everybody universally despises. But if you can get past that, this is the ultimate feel good romantic comedy anime about a girl who struggles to communicate with people and the only guy in school who is actually able to understand her, help her, and support her. I really need to finish this show, definitely recommend it. *My Dress-Up Darling* I definitely recommend this one. If you don't live alone, I recommend watching it with headphones in an environment where other people can't sneak up on you watching it. It's a really raunchy show even by anime standards, but it's actually a REALLY good show if you can get past that. Also, Marin is best girl. No contest. It's not even close. *The Last of Us (Max)* I know that most of my viewers are cartoon nerds, but even you guys have heard of this show before. I don't need to tell you how good it is. *Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World From Zero* One of the most well constructed, written, and acted shows I've ever witnessed. This is a show that expects you to be able to understand context clues and piece things together. This series demands your undivided attention from start to finish. Also, it has such an incredible soundtrack that there was one song (Chain of Memories) that nearly made me cry for a character that I could not have possibly cared less about. HOWEVER, I personally didn't care that much for the show and actually thought that the second season was kinda bloated and boring. But I'm definitely in the minority, there. Like Pink Floyd's "The Wall," I can appreciate the work that went into it, but I personally thought it was a little boring and I'm probably not going to revisit it any time soon. *ODDTAXI* No, this isn't just some furry anime. In fact, out of all the shows that I've mentioned so far, this is the one that I recommend the most. It's a very plot heavy show that isn't filled with constant action or jokes, but it's only 13 episodes long and very hard to forget.

In regards to 14:32, I do see where you're coming from. I think you're correct on both counts. I think some people do give genuine thought to someone else's perspective and decide that they make a good point. But I also think that there are people who either have parasocial feelings towards a particular KZbinr and will mindlessly parrot what they say or they're easily influenced so they won't question any halfway convincing argument. In general I think some people don't appreciate that just because a fan theory makes sense, that doesn't mean it's true. For example, people have noted that Blitzo's line in "Western Energy" "He can get hurt?" doesn't make sense, because Blitzo already knew that there are weapons that can hurt or even kill demons of Stolas's status. Several people have argued that while Blitzo may have logically knew that Stolas could get hurt, the fact that he's not invulnerable may not have felt truly "real" to him until he saw the results himself. And I think that's a perfectly sensible explanation. At the same time, I still think the way they presented that scene was weird, and given all of the show's other inconsistencies I can't fully discount the possibility that the writers just forgot that Blitzo was already aware of what angelic weaponry could do.

I always assumed that Blitzo was supposedly at fault because I just thought the birthday fire spread so far that all the tents caught fire and the horses didn’t play a major role
@RandomGameCritic
@RandomGameCritic Жыл бұрын
The timeline from Blitzo's perspective is: Blitzo knocks over a single birthday cake > Horses get spooked and start running around everywhere > Every single tent is now on fire > Fireworks go off If a few birthday candles are what was responsible for every single tent going up in flames in a matter of minutes, then the person responsible for this fire is whoever decided that these birthday candles were safe and legal. Either that, or Blitzo started a tiny fire that everyone could have easily evacuated from and then the horses made everything turn into an out-of-control inferno.

To explain the hellfire thing, they quite literally did say “we’re not effected by YOUR fire,” Heavily implying that they won’t be hurt by fire from EARTH. So while yes, it’s kinda ironic that the incident was caused by a fire when Blitzø didn’t get burned by fire in episode one, but the difference is the fact in Blitzø’s backstory it is hell fire rather than normal, so it does kinda make sense Edit: so it turns out I misunderstood the situation and thought he just forgot how hell fire worked, so I thought I should remind him, so just kinda ignore what I said

Here’s the thing: if we’re going that in depth with the world building, then that just raises a bunch of other questions. Chief among them is this: WHY ARE IMPS USING HELLFIRE TO LIGHT CAKE CANDLES? If they’re immune to normal fire, why not not use that instead? It’s a contrivance one way or another.

@@benjaminfricke4791 good point, but maybe it’s for the same reasons we use normal fire on our cakes, even if it could burn us, also if they managed to get normal fire, how exactly? I admittedly had to think about it for a second, but there are exceptions to all fire being hellfire in hell. Yeah I agree, the only major gripe I had with this episode was the fact that Blitzo’s/Fizz’s backstory was rushed through way too fast to the point where it couldn’t really get any emotional impact. Honestly, Blitz and Stolas aren't supposed to be a good couple. They're SUPPOSED to be dysfunctional and bad for each other. That's the point, that's the entire point is for them to be terrible as a couple and POSSIBLY get better later on. As for Mox and Millie, they WERE a perfect couple with amazing chemistry. But fans complained too much and Viv SEEMS to have caved in to the complaints that they're too perfect and aren't interesting because of that. And honestly? Fuck those fans.

First of all... Viv may be a talented writer, but you can't take her word on anything. At one point, she said that Millie was intentionally underdeveloped because Helluva Boss was intended to be a male focused show and that Hazbin Hotel would be more female focused, which would be an incredibly boneheaded creative decision to make even if she didn't immediately pivot to a different excuse when people didn't buy that one. Second, I don't think that Blitzo and Stolas are meant to be a bad couple. If that was what they were going for, they would have written the show that way.

Well, they really botched the joke, then. If they wanted to do it well, they should have started by have the music comedically stop as soon as Fizz started spilling the coffee to show that it was an awkward mistake that wasn't intentional. Maybe they could have added in some sort of grumbling noises from Fizz while he keeps trying and failing to reposition the pot in order to pour it correctly. THEN he would just give up and grab the whole pot. It'd also be crucially important for them to remove the shot of the succubus on the way back because the final punchline would rely on Fizz chugging the pot _immediately_ after he gives up on pouring it into the cup. I had to think about this episode a lot following its release. On the one hand, it’s one of the better episodes in and of itself (definitely the best of Season 2), but upon consideration, it’s not really lacking the flaws of its predecessors; the good stuff is just better than usual and the bad stuff is less egregious. Like, there’s still tonal whiplash, the pacing is still off in a lot of places, the characterization is still painfully inconsistent, etc. In my honest opinion, I think this episode is almost exclusively carried by Fizzarolli (in a rarity among the cast) actually having compelling, and more importantly, *entertaining* dynamics with both Blitzø and Ozzie. I agree with what you said, but I believe as time goes on, as much as how you miss the old Blitz, I don't think Blitz having character development isn't a problem here. When he and Stolas got ridiculed in Ozzie's for reasons for being a fucked up couple, Blitz was breaking down in tears, especially when he saw his mom on the phone. I do think the characters who were flanderized were Loona, Stolas, and M&M because in ep 8, Loona showed that she cared for Blitz and the end of the episode but then she went back from being a bitch, M&M still act the same except Moxxie is still being used as a punching bag and that Viv and her team like making him insecure all over again, and Millie is just used as a plot device instead of a character. That still hasn't change and I do really like her, I just wish people who KNOWS how to write (I'm looking at you, Viv) write her actually doing something instead of just being a badass and being Moxxie's wife all the time. THey could tackle on her anger issues she has and how it affects Moxxie and everyone else. I'm up for it. And the very last person to talk about... Stolas Now, the scene where Stolas and Stella were getting a divorce is still powerful, but looking back to it, I think the scene could've done a bit better, because now that I think about it, now Stella can still be a bitch and a villain, but Stolas should admit what he did was fucked up and he should've broken up with her way before he cheated on her. Cheating is a sin and shouldn't be justified and that Stolas said that he deserves to be ridiculedat Ozzie's, which is why overtime he knows he's not perfect, but still is a caring person who loves his own daughter and that he needs time for himself. He could've also said "WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU WHEN OCTAVIA NEEDED YOU?!" because we haven't seen Octavia and Stella interact and during the flashback, when Octavia is crying, Stella didn't want to deal with her and has Stolas to do it. Or it could be the other way around also when she said that she doesn't give a damn about Octavia and that she is just being used for status. So, now that I rewatched it considering I still love the show, it kinda feels a little bit rushed to me. In my opinion, it could've made everyone still have sympathy for him and people will also realized it still doesn't excuse him for cheating on Stella.

10:47 This point is just plain foolish in my opinion. Firstly, saying "Everyone says the fire was Blitzo's fault" even though only one person has been confirmed to at least thought that Blitzo was responsible (Fizzarolli) and the other being mostly a vauge allusion with some assumption (Barbie) is an exaggeration. Second, just because those two say it's his fault that's not the show saying it's his fault. The flashback shows both Fizzarolli and Blitzo's perspectives from the fire. Fizz saw Blitzo looking darkly at him from behind a tent curtain and then walk away only for a fire to errupt from that area and for him to be knocked into an explosion. Afterwards we saw Blitzo's perspective after he screamed "It was an accident," and the visuals show that. You say that "Obviously it was the horses" even though a major part of the flashback was Fizzarolli being injured in a huge fucking *explosion.* Even if the horses spread some of the fire it's clear that most of the damage was done by the fireworks going off. To get back to the original point, the show was not trying to say it was all Blitzo's fault, it was trying to say that everyone assumed it was Blitzo's fault since nobody actually saw what happened. If your interpretation of the flashback was "it was Blitzo's fault" then you must've missed the point because Blitzo literally screams "It was an accident." I don't mean any hate but to come to that conclusion even after the show shows the exact opposite is ridiculous.

4:04 As much as i love this show i feel like the reason why the tone of the series has been so back and forth is because Brandon and Viv are playing tug of war of where they want the direction of the show to be Like Bradon intended to write the show to be more light-hearted, chaotic, and episodic Whereas Viv want the show to be more dramatic and leaning to the Stoliz nonsense. And tbh this is kinda showing in the writing mostly in S2...

I think Brandon's writing is kinda bit better than Viv because when Viv does story telling on Helluva, it's a mess at times. I think Viv is better at writing for Hazbin because Helluva can be episodic while Hazbin can be a character focused show. I jsut hope Viv improves on Hazbin once the A24 show gets released since she got help from new writers that took her place.

the only thing that irked me during the reveal is how blitzo outright implies and tells fizz that him losing his mother is actually more worth worrying abt (in fizz’s perspective, his best friends mom) rather than fizz ACTUALLY LOSING all his limbs and horns. I get that theyre both victims, but good grief blitzo is making it into a contest when its not. both are horrible in their own right and like with octavia and her dad, fizz forgave him too quickly. at the very least have it take two eps or so, it doesnt even have to be back to back.

Having Stolas remain in the hospital for some time is not a high bar. You're being waaay too kind. If Stolas was simply going to be back on his feet in the next episode what was the point of injuring him in the first place. Unless they're trying to tell us that him being abandoned by Blizto is the reason that he's letting him go. They didn't make that clear though.

I don't think this show is perfect, but I think that people who are trying to compare the level of chemistry between Fizz and asmodeus to stolas and Blitz are missing the point. Fizz and asmodeus are meant to be foils to the main couple. They are meant to represent healthy love in a world where that's not encouraged, and Fizz in particular is meant to represent a good person who finally managed to find somebody who didn't take advantage of or dismiss his good-nature. Fizz is everything that Blitz is not; he had the courage to make good progress on his psychological issues before Blitz came along to help him complete that work, whereas Blitz is still stuck. He is comfortable with himself and his flaws when Blitz is not. He is in a pretty healthy relationship whereas what Blitz and stolas have is currently toxic. Fizz plays an important role in the story both by contrasting Blitz and showing both by direct example and character mirroring that Blitz can overcome his issues. Asmodeus is a mirror to stolas to a lesser degree, mainly in terms of confidence and honesty. Asmodeus is completely comfortable in his work and willing to be honest with fizz. Stolas hates his job and is ashamed of his anxious attachment Style, and things that hiding it from Blitz will somehow fix it. Most importantly, as long as Fizz and asmodeus are together, the many, many reasons that Blitz and stolas have for not working on themselves or their relationship don't really hold water. The problems of these characters are so relatable that there is a danger of sympathizing too much and failing to acknowledge how toxic the relationship is. As long as asmodeus and Fitz are there, the audience can't get comfortable with how Blitz and stolas relationship operates. There is always a better example. There is no excuse for stolas and Blitz oh, because the relationship between Fizz and asmodeus is one that still has minor issues, but is between two people who have put the work in for themselves and each other. Moxie and Millie definitely need more development, but I think it's important that it's there. It shows that even two of the most good-hearted characters in the show can be battling codependent Tendencies, because he'll is not a conducive environment for healing or self-improvement. Despite their best efforts, they are still a product of the environment that they grew up in.

To bring up the part about Brandon being wasted. Brandon rogers isn’t as shallow as just offensive humor. He’s made several series that delve deeper into his characters and express more emotions asides humor. I mean look at Bryce or British series. Those are very recent and came out around the same time as these episodes. I feel like blitz perfectly captures both of these aspects, and I do agree it’s been leaning more to the emotional side. Blitz is a broken man masked with humor. As the series has gone on, that mask has come off more and more. Brandon’s characters are extremely like that, introduced as just part of a sketch, have been shown to be so much more. There isn’t any better choice then Brandon honestly

Like, those text messages, for example, where its framed as blitzo not caring and being a dick, when the whole conversation stolas is being weird and ''oh its ok if you dont want to i dont care its fine'', its a wall of text that says NOTHING and clearly both of them dont know how to communicate, yet the show makes you think ''damn, blitzo you are an asshole omgg poor stolas''. Cause if you read into it, yes, the messages are well made and make sense and all the framing for that section is completely in stolas' perspective. But those arent real people with complex feelings, those are characters from a show and the writters are failing to make their audience understand that. okay since theres a whole 15 minutes VIDEO on this im only doing the first minute. for most of it the sum is just the rush to get it out, also mistakes happen. remember this isnt some netflix animated show with millions or thousands of workers making it. this is just a small team that viv has with her to create something. plus these minor mistakes dont even really become noticed when you watch it the first, second, or even third time! (for what I know) and it doesnt really matter if he poured something he didnt drink out of (lol) now about the higher ranks dating imps, they dont really want others to know because as long as nobody with a higher rank then them calls them out for it, if they never talk about it then nobody else lower or on the same rank as them can point it out because of fear if they did so. (we can see proof of this in ozzies episode and episode eight.) Also another thing, millie and moxxies relationship is just as good as asmodeus and fizz's. (imo) and it shows how much they love each other and would do anything for each other. and the reason stolitz doesnt have that is because they dont know how to communicate and this is a problem that gives us the drama, tension, and suspense we need to want to keep watching. we want to continue so we can find out what happens and if it works out. now the reason he thinks its his fault is because he left fizz to die and caused the horses to seem alarmed. fizz thinks its blitz' fault because he ran away from fizz while he was burning instead of trying to help.

This is probably the best example, but I've noticed it in other plot points too. I wish they'd either follow through on Blitzo's past actions being bad, or show how from his perspective, he wasn't trying to do anything that bad. Idk, maybe to some all of his actions have seemed bad enough to warrant character's responses, but to me, it really doesn't feel that horrible, especially for hell's standards.

In an older version of my script, I actually talked for a little bit about how you could have completely skipped _Exes and Ooh_ and not missed a single thing. _Oops_ never establishes or even hints at Crimson having any sort of history with Blitzo. The only thing that their history does is KINDA serve as a "get out of jail free" card for Crimson never even explaining why he even captured Blitzo at all. Hell, when Crimson yells at his guards to "get them," that's the only time in the entire episode that he acknowledges that Blitzo even exists. So... I was GOING to talk about Crimson being brought back as a returning character, but I was going to use it as an example of how this show once again does not capitalize on the relationships from previous episodes because sometimes they simply aren't taken into account.

Helluva Boss feels to me like it had 2 pitches 1: a comedy about I.M.P. going to earth and killing people. 2: a "rom-com drama" about the class struggle of Hell (plus showing off Viv's world building that wouldn't be seen in Hazbin Hotel.) Then Viv went "we'll do both In the same show." but they ran out of real ideas for I.M.P. and the "rom-com drama" was liked by fans more. which lead to I.M.P. episodes being bland and drama episodes lacking the world building needed to understand them without talking to fans and looking for background details. It will be interesting to see if and how they end the show (at least for a bit.) As they seem to be leaning all in on the DRAMA.

100% agree with you on the not feeling more for the backstory reveal. I thought the pov from Fizzerolli, combined with the brilliant voice acting and the music for this scene, was good! But I still wasn't overly gripped by the scene, it just kinda happened and then I moved on with the rest of the episode. I think another thing that could have made this scene a better and more emotionally impactful, was if we had more time with Fizz and Blitz interacting, because up until this episode, the only time we've seen Blitz and Fizzerolli (not counting robo fizz cuz he's a robot with no actual backstory with Blitz, he's just designed after a character who does) interact was during the song in Ozzie's twice for maybe 8-10 seconds, and the only line of dialogue that was exchanged between them was from Fizzerolli. Blitz never gets a chance to say anything back to him because it instantly cuts to Verosika and then on the second occasion to Stolas. And then the second time was in The Circus - the flashback part (Granted The Circus episode does set up the "What happened to them?" theme and confirms that all the white scars on Fizz's face are in fact scars since his skin as a kid was red like other imps. But again this was a small interaction in an otherwise Blitz and Stolas related episode) It's the same sort of issue you brought up in your video for the Loo Loo Land episode. The show introduced us to Octavia, gave us one flashback of her and Stolas having a wholesome moment, didn't convey the message that Octavia was at all uncomfortable or genuinely upset just moody, and then gave us an ending which - on paper the scene itself it great, the dialogue is wonderful - for me wasn't emotionally impactful cuz we had only just met Octavia I know a lot of fans where probably super hyped to finally have this mystery solved, but aside from that photo on Blitz's phone at the end of Ozzie's and that scene of kid Fizz and Bliz interacting in the circus episode I don't think there was a great deal of emotional build up for the backstory scene. Like with the Loo Loo Land ending, on paper I think the scene is fine: Fizz's pov I think was the better part for me - but otherwise this scene just felt like it kind of happened since we've had so little interactions with these two in the show outside of the interactions in Ozzie's (which where seconds long) and the child scene in the circus I've gotten Helluva fans upset with me for making a post after the Exes and Oohs episode so to be on the safe side, this isn't me trying to make an attack I'm just trying to give a constructive opinion on an episode of a series which is high quality in it's animation, music, backgrounds and voice acting, but storywise feels lacking to me

Those multiple objects in one frame to make fast motion as you all may know, are smears, made to simulate live action motion blurs, the reason they look jagged and weird as only two frames is because of the repetition and lack of bounciness, but I get it, they did want some real fast movement, what I'd do is if some of those frames interchangeably changed with alts they'd look a bit better, like instead of "ABABABAB" we had "ABACABAC" PS: this is not a jab at the show's animation quality, it's pretty good, just explaining in case some folks were also wondering why it felt off

I definitely agree with your criticisms towards this episode. Thought I'd respectfully put in my view. In terms of comedy, this episode was a real return to form, I laughed the most I've laughed since episode 6 of season 1. Look at This is probably my favourite song, it's literally a song about nothing yet also has hidden meanings. Where this episode falls short slightly is the backstory part of it, I agree. I do think the way Blitzo mouths Mom is heartbreaking, the fact we don't hear him and yet can see how afraid and horrified he is, 10/10 animation. Gotta give Brandon credit for his voice acting when he broke down in front of Fizz. I do wish we would have lingered a little bit more on Fizz and Blitzos relationship from the past, as in more flashbacks, would have probably nailed home the sense of betrayal from Fizz. I am a little disappointed that Striker has taken a dip in villain quality, but will say seeing him lose it and become desperate shows potential. I think this episode benefitted from not having Moxxie and Millie in it, they are usually sub-plot characters, and it can take away from the quality. Though I do really enjoy them in main plots. I think my biggest gripe is the line where Fizz and Blitzo realise that they were stopped from seeing each other when Fizz was in hospital, the simple oh means absolutely nothing. Who stopped them? It could have been Blitzos father but we have no real way of knowing. Also why? Fizz couldn't perform anyways until he recovered, so why keep them apart? These are all nitpicks though. This is the best episode of Season 2 and probably my third favourite episode before Truth Seekers and Ozzie's!

i didnt rly understand ur point abt "unrealistic expectations".. i agree that a lot of fans should manage their expectations, however, ozzie's changed the characters' dynamic completely and to have the next episode just reset everything and not even mention it in dialogue but in 2 SECONDS through text ??? i dont think im expecting too much. i only expect it to be at the very least mentioned. the outcome, however, is what i would reccommend to manage your expectations. it's basic storytelling. this show isnt like spongebob where nothing matters.

As a fan of the show, i agree that this show in itself isn't really made to be clear to outsiders. But i think that it's not really THAT much of a sin when the super passionate fandom you mentioned does so much to help explain how everything comes together. Like, the show would be able to do a LOT less if it couldn't trust loyal fans to open everything that it says and show the audience how it ticks. Also, i have to say i fundamentally disagree with you on the blitzø part. You start out being impressed by his outer layers, and then the more you get to know him, you can be impressed by how that facade works in relation to his fears, traumas and insecurities. I see nothing wrong with that.

Thing is, a good show should not force the fanatics, Twitter posts, or things outside the show in order to understand the world and characters of said show. Gravity Falls for instance has the ciphers and Journal 3, but someone can enjoy and understand the show just as much whether they're a casual watcher or a die-hard superfan. That's how a good show should be written, and Helluva Boss doesn't clear that bar of basic writing.

@@RavenStarMedia I mean, it seems to be working, doesn't it? I enjoy my time in this fandom, and it seems to me that a lot of other people do too. So if you need people to do some of the work for themselves, and they do, and the fandom is happy, what makes it "bad writing"? If the show does not explain certain parts of the narrative itself, and instead attracts the kind of fandom that will do it for them, where is the failure?
@RavenStarMedia
@RavenStarMedia Жыл бұрын
@@tamarbeker1701 Because the failure is in creating a cohesive world. Helluva tends to not flesh out the world very well to the point fans have to scramble to fill in the blanks with their own headcanons. The world doesn't have a lot of depth because the writers created this world that clearly had a lot of thought and measured consistency put into it-much of the supposed depth that exists is people inserting their own headcanons and theories into their understanding of the show, while the writers don't bother to actually build a consistent world. Fans having theories about the setting or characters that engage with the fandom is fine. Every fandom has those. The issue is that unlike something like Avatar, Helluva doesn't have pre-established rules of the setting, or even how certain characters act, that are conveyed properly in the show itself. A show should be able to have a world and characters that are understood, fleshed out, and clear to the audience whether you've seen only a couple episodes or you're a hardcore fan who watches every episode and delved into all the codes and behind-the-scenes stuff that you can. Amphibia does this. Gravity Falls does this. Helluva Boss does not. Helluva Boss, like RandomCartoonCritic said, is written only for the fans, and no one else.

I've seen plenty of people criticize the show for not putting important information in the actual episodes, and that's something that either prevents people from becoming fans of the show or being as invested as they could be. My issue was also with the backstory. In Loo Loo Land Blitz essentially reprises the events of that night. He sets a circus on fire on accident and causes a version os Fizz to burn. Yet how does he act? Like he’s in a big game. He even gets annoyed robot Fizz DOESNT die in the fire. This doesn’t line up with the flashback at all.

And I just know the surface level lore, as well as some opinions from my friends that makes the story work. Not hating tho! Just giving my thoughts.

I think one of the things I didn't like about this episode is how it disregards the events of Western Energy. We hear from Striker that this episode took place about a week after Stolas' encounter with Striker with that moment being shown as a really important and detrimental part of the story. Yet in Oops that entire episode is sort of pushed to the side and only mentioned in a very brief line which people might miss on their first viewing of the episode. Aside from that I think this is a really good episode.

I'm not gonna try and excuse the batshit pacing of the flashback, but I do feel that it leaves things a lot more open-ended than you're giving it credit for. I'll comment on the whole "it wasn't really Blitzo's fault" thing- Uh... Yeah, no. It was. Not in the traditional sense, though. See, it was indeed a freak accident that he *technically* caused, but that's not necessarily why the other characters- and Blitzo himself- feel the need to blame him so heavily. The way I see it, because Blitzo ended up causing the fire as a result of a brash outburst stemming from his inability to truly open up to other people (which has been his major character flaw from the very start), Blitzo intentionally decided to shoulder the majority of the blame. His self-hatred is simply that strong. There's subtext, y'know? Barbie Wire's reasons for hating Blitzo are still rather dubious, too. Unlike Fizz, who mostly just misunderstood what really happened that night. I guess it's possible that Barbie hates Blitzo due to sharing Fizz's initial perspective, but that doesn't seem like a very interesting route to take her character. In fact, it's implied that she hates him for... Multiple things he's done. They have a history, and we'll just have to wait for more context on that.

I mean, if their flaming manes were actually capable of starting fires, then yeah, Blitz isn't to blame, but assuming the flames aren't actually... like, fire, then Blitz is technically to blame, since he recklessly shoved the person. If the horses didn't actually light anything on fire, then yeah, that visual would be confusing.
