The texting scene in this film always bothered me: - She knocks on the wall and someone knocks back. Okay. - She then texts Hector and ends up asking "did I wake you up". Fine. - Hector then responds 'I'm not at home." Wait, what? Here's the problem - at no point did her messages reference the knocking. So, wouldn't Hector have assumed that she was referring to her *texting* him? It's a minor point, I guess, but it always bothered me. His response doesn't answer her question in the slightest and can only be based on information that his character has no way of knowing.

Something I never understood about the Insidious movies: The Further is a spirit place, right? And several times, they have almost "killed" each other in there, like when the old lady almost killed Josh by choking him. So my question is: How the hell do you kill someone who is already dead? What would happen if the lady successfully killed Josh by choking him? Would he be "even more dead"?

I'm very unimpressed in a big way! Most of his sins are for the Demon randomly doing scary things that are not according to any understandable set of rules. But for a guy that is such an expert on horror movies he should know that Demons are pretty much creatures that want essentially nothing other than to scare their victim! This answers up many of the sins. Granted though, he is a very sharp and funny guy. Keep it up!

I listened to the first one like it was an audio book. All I can remember is that someone's kid has the ability to go to the demon realm while he's sleeping, but this attracts demons because while he's there he isn't inhabiting his body. Then he goes into a coma and a really evil demon tries to possess it and they learn how to go in there and get him back into his body before the demon. Or something like that, this was like 4 years ago.
@zacfernandez60308 жыл бұрын
I'll try not to spoil the plot too much but to explain the second one, you need to know how the first one ends so spoiler alert for the first one In the first one a family moves into a new house when the kid falls into a coma and doesn't wake up.turns out he's in a different realm and the dad needs to rescue him before the ghost that live there possess him. SPOILER the dad rescues his son and brings him back to reality but is followed by a ghost. The ghost traps the dad in the ghost realm and the ghost impersonates the dad. The ghost (whom everyone else thinks is the dad) kills Elise (the old lady) In the second one, the same family moves house and the dad (who is still the ghost) is trying to take the baby. The family tries to contact Elise's (the old lady) partners to help find the ghost that is haunting them. In the third one, it is a completely new family and is a prequel. The girl tries to get in contact with her dead mother and is haunted by ghosts

+DoYouEvenScience I honestly love jump scares when they're done well (plus they're the only thing that scares me any more, horror movies aren't scary when you've seen every single one. the only other ones that get to me REALLY get to me on a fucked up level and i don't like to watch those. I'm talking Human Centipede and Creep. fuck those movies, i'll take jump scares any day.) That being sad while the scares in this movie got me every time, they became unenjoyable very quickly simply because they took almost no time to do any other kind of horror. The last one was funny though just because of how it got me when i was so expecting it XD
@hskatkat8 жыл бұрын
+Tom F Park +DoYouEvenScience +Whofan06 They keep forgetting that it isn't quantity, it's quality. A lot of horror movies and their franchises have fallen victim to overusing a certain element that was effective before. I used to count jump scares as actual scares, but the usage got so out of hand, and became so redundant, it's like flashing a light in someone's eyes and saying "HA, YOUR PUPILS DILATED". Yeah, it's involuntary, just like jump scares cause involuntary reactions too.
@TheTruestZero8 жыл бұрын
+Tom F Park So, it's the cinematic version of Five Nights at Freddy?
@Whofan068 жыл бұрын
Miranda The overall usage is definitely overdone. I've grown to not get annoyed when yet another movie uses jump scares, but to expect it, because you should, and then decide whether it was a good one or not. That's pretty much the whole reason i actually enjoyed Insidious 3, if I didn't have fun with the "oh they got me" concept, then, yeah, I'd be just as bitter as anyone else who hates jump scares. It's kind of one of those things where i don't bother criticizing it cause it's gonna be there no matter what you do, so may as well judge a different aspect of it so you can still enjoy horror movies. I think it's fun to watch a movie and look for the tell tale signs of a jump scare and, if im enjoying the movie, sort of count down to it and see whether it gets me. Granted, not all of them do, some are lame, which is where the argument of "if they're done well" comes in (some of the jumpscares in Mama make me scream everytime. Love that movie) Insidious was getting ridiculous with the number of jumpscares, but they were pretty effective.

This is probably my favorite insidious movie, and it’s also the best according to Roger Ebert, an extremely famous and well regarded movie reviewer.
@Whofan069 жыл бұрын
Honestly this made me love the movie even more. I can't say Insidious 3 was an all around fantastic movie, especially for non-horror/non-Insidious fans. But i really feel if you absolutely loved at least the first movie, this one was nothing but fan service and fucking with the fans. There were a ridiculous amount of jump scares (all of which got me but i was literally saying "I'm sick of this movie's shit!" towards the end) but that last jump scare, i felt like it was made specifically for me. I knew the "darth mal" demon would be in the movie, he was in the trailers. The first 5 minutes were so suspenseful i actually thought they would do the jump scare right then (i was waiting for the face to be behind somebody like in the first movie). And then the whole movie goes by and im wondering where the hell is he did the trailers lie--AND THEN THAT LAST JUMPSCARE GOT ME SO BAD I SHIT YOU NOT I RAN OUT OF THE THEATER HYPERVENTILATING. not only because it scared the shit out of me but because i was laughing so hard that they got me like that, with the one jump scare i was actually expecting XD

I can't believe you didn't sin nor mention the demon closing her laptop, that scene was the worst/best/most unnecessary scare I've ever seen
@sandy85858 жыл бұрын
I'm surprised he didn't mention the "dropping grocery bag cliché" and the fact that when Quinn and her friend were vid chatting, the mini camera showing yourself didn't show anything next to her. But yeah I've always wondered why the Lipstick Face Demon showed up at the end of this.
