My biggest issue with the killer reveal is that there is NO WAY a serial killer could have a cop dad and that wouldn't become fairly widespread public knowledge. Like, how would Sam not see that coming out afterwards? And then they let him investigate ghost face murders?!?!?!?!?!?!

My head canon is Detective Bailey didn't find out until years later that he had a son, maybe from a fling he had and his name wasn't on the birth certificate. When he found out he felt awful for not being there for him so he gave him everything he wanted to make up for lost time, his other 2 kids found out and they all spent hours together in the "Shrine" all slowly getting a little bit to fanatic, Richie with the Stab Movies and the rest with making Richie happy. Richie snaps when Stab 8 comes out, everything in Scream 5 happens then the Baiileys all snap because Richie didn't get to make his movie and they all snap.

Yes! I don't understand why they didn't just make them the uncle and cousins. Gale wrote an entire book about the murders with Richie and she didn't know who his dad and siblings were?? Makes no sense. And the FBI too? And the NYPD? Wtf?
@Bourneidentit
@Bourneidentit Жыл бұрын
You guys do know that if the dad isn’t around for he child’s birth it’s pretty simple for the dad to fall through the cracks and no one would know who the dad is. Maybe the mom (the one who actually gave birth not the dad. I know it’s confusing for you insane liberals but a male can’t get pregnant) probably why this is so confusing to you. Didn’t want anything to do with the dad so never told the drs or anyone and down the road told her son who is really dad was and that was it. And Richie knowing he’s the killer and his dad helped kept that a secret and died not telling anyone. It’s pretty simple unless you’re insane and think the dad gave birth to Richie.

Still, most of the people who gets stabbed in the first 4 movies ends up dying. Just Dewey and Gale always survive cause they are coprotagonists and still they get stabbed like once, so it's not even that absurd they managed to survive. Chad, just to say one, got stabbed in the previous and in this movie multiple times, realistically having damaged a lot of organs and probably some vital also, but fuck it plot armour.

Hey I want to add something to your idea. The Movie is shot and directed from the perspective of the Killer. Then the suspense throughout the movie is when and how are they gonna caught or are they gonna get caught? It can also, be done by having the first act of the movie be the killer stalking all of the intended kill targets and making plans but, not showing who each plan is for or which order the kills will come in to help drive suspense as well. Tons of fun ways to reveal the killer immediately and make it still an extremely fun movie. It's really cool getting to see the characters on screen figure out what you the viewer already know. Provided it's written well anyway.

Have to say, if it wasn't for the ridiculous, over-the-top attacks on characters that then ended up surviving, I would have really enjoyed this film. Either have the guts to kill them off or make the attack actually look like they had a chance of surviving it. You don't gut someone on-screen and then have them limping back in for a sappy reunion. You gut someone and they aren't limping anywhere. Might even survive after many, many ops but you'll not see them upright for good while. And then you have Chad . . .

@NationalSportsEntertainmentNSE 1. Billy and Stu stabbed one another multiple times in the stomach and still were able to walk, run, and fight. Roman was stabbed twice and was able to keep fighting. 2. Gail was shot in the stomach and was perfectly fine by the end of the movie. 3. Sidney was still able to fight and kill Jill with a stab wound. 4. There was no indication that Chad was stabbed in the heart. The filmmakers said he was stabbed 7 times. One in the side and 6 in the chest and abdomen area. That is survivable. 5. Jill and Sam were obviously running off of adrenaline, very plausible.

For a horror franchise that typically avoids retcons (Roman inspiring Billy to get revenge on Maureen is a retcon but Billy still is the one who creates the Ghostface alias), it does annoy me that this film retcons Gale's promise to honor Dewey at the end of the 5th movie and immediately goes back to her giving the people behind Ghostface massacres coverage in a book that yet again inspires future serial killers.

If you watch it a second viewing and third time, very carefully, you end up realizing that Quinn, the little girl, did everything for the most part. You think about, where her brother is, and where her dad is, and most of the at*acks were done by Quinn. Gale's bodyguard/boyfriend, is huge. And, he gets thrown around. And when you pause and think, about it, her dad (the cop/villain) gets left behind at the park how did he get there first? He didn't. Her brother is eating Cheetos with Kirby and the others in the van trying to pin point the call. He was with the group. How did he teleport over? He didn't. So that big dude, got thrown through the book shelf, by Quinn? 5 feet 7 inches around 123 pounds can pick this behemoth guy up, I can buy, she can pick him up. People can pick someone up momentarily. But that she can throw him that far, and overpower him. It reminded me a bit of Emma Roberts and that skinny, frail dude (Rory Culkin).

2 stories about how people with asthma are not hindered by the condition. In high school gym we had substitute that made the class run a mile because they didnt want to deal with us. One student with asthma (who was on the track team) raced one of the cross country runners. He ran a mile faster then everyone else in the class, with asthma. Last year i broke down on a hill in a car. The girl behind me in traffic jumped out of her car and helped me push the car out of the road to a safe place. Only after the both of us collapsed from exhaustion did he sister run up with a rescue inhaler. Both of these people with asthma outperformed my athletic abilities and didnt even think twice about pushing their limits. Asthma is not the crippling hinderance movies make it out to be.

IMO, the lighting analogy is silly for another reason: lightning is random, while the killers in these movies actively seek out survivors of previous Ghostfaces. So surviving a killer in these movies is nothing like surviving lightning, because lightning does not have copycats or revenge schemes.

Also, a few other plot holes about this dumb film that bothered me: 1. How did Sam not meet Richie's family before Scream 6 when she was dating Richie for 6 months? 2. How was Dermot Mulroney able to work as a cop under a false identity? 3. How did Gale the reporter stumble upon the dumb shrine before Kirby aka the FBI agent did? 4. Why did Richie's family kill the therapist? 5. How did Gale not hear her boyfriend being murdered behind her and why doesn't she have a security system in that apartment of hers? 6. Why was that dumb shrine built in NYC? NYC has nothing to do with the Stab films

Remember Richie tracked Sam down with the sole purpose of gaining her trust before he and Amber did their murders. He wouldn’t introduce Sam to his family when he fully planned on framing her as a murderer then killing her himself. This is the closest I'll come to seeing this movie. Are they just repeating the patterns of the original 4 films? #1 - killers were the heroines' boyfriend and friend. (The Sidney role was essentially filled by both girls in #5) #2 - Killer was related to one of the previous films killer. (Billy/Mrs Loomis and Ritchie/his dad and siblings) I'm guessing the next one will reveal Sam and Tara have a sibling they never knew about and the one after that it'll be their never mentioned before cousin. Can you do What Lies Beneath (2000) at some point? With Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer.
