#SonicColors is a game that is very meaningful to me. I was gifted the Wii version by someone who means a lot to me and it was the first game I ever 100% completed. I never owned the DS version, but had always wanted to play it since I'd heard how different it was. Gameplay-wise, I think both have their unique merits given their differences in gameplay, and I was shocked at how similar they were able to make them in terms of theming and mechanics. The story, however, while still nothing special compared to Rush and Rush Adventure, had much better writing and was a fun little romp with Sonic, featuring the colorful cast of characters we know and love, whereas the Wii version is absent of them. Both great games, for slightly different reasons.

Seeing these cutscenes for the first time, it’s interesting how the Wii version wanted to keep things simple with a smaller cast, but the DS version still includes Sonic’s friends. It’s almost like an alternate timeline
