Yeah that's what I was thinking and if I remember correctly froggy technically consumed part of chaos which likely wouldn't just leave no trace after removal which is likely the data neo metal sonic was copying especially considering the presence of a Chao simultaneously (which chaos Is cannonicly a Chao mutated by chaos energy one of which is why it demonstrates it's connection to other Chao in the ending of sa1) chaocola Chao was likely used to help focus and locate the chaos data within froggy and it wasn't a quick process which is why he only manages to copy the data at the very end of team roses story and has likely been analysing and looking for that data from before team sonics story even begins and likely just before the beginning of team roses)

I can't believe they actually didn't want to read the external official media. Shadow in Heroes is the same one that died in SA2. Official info from Sega stated that shortly after the events of SA2, Eggman discovered Shadow's lifeless body, put him in a healing pod while extracting his DNA for making android clones, and used Omega as a guard robot to protect the secret base. Once that happened, Sonic Heroes began. After Heroes, in Shadow's game, we find out that the Shadow we all played as was the original Ultimate Lifeform after all. I already knew it would lead to that but, I don't see how so many weren't perceptive enough to figure that out.

@@justchillin1887 Shadow has a bad habit of amnesia since the whole point of Shadow the Hedgehog was him getting various endings to discover his past before saying screw it I make my own path. Apparently between then and Heros Eggman captured him and presumeably gave him amnesia inducing drugs for a possible attempt to manipulate him in the future if his andriods were wiped out.

I'm pretty sure when "Eggman" (Metal Sonic) tells Shadow he has no memories, he's just lying so Shadow doesn't lose his reason to chase him down. If he told him the truth - that he is the original Shadow, and the plot of SA2 - then Shadow might stop chasing him, and then Metal Sonic wouldn't be able to get the data he needs to get Chaos Control later on.

Plus it makes plenty of sense: Shadow, being the “Ultimate Lifeform” has a body that is durable enough to withstand re-entry of the planets atmosphere long enough for one of Eggman’s thousands of robots to come and rescue him. Don't they tell us in shadow the hedgehog, they explain that that was the real shadow. Thus most of those sins are moot. Omega was there to ensure the real shadow wouldn't get out. Eggman probably programmed him to recognize the real shadow as an eggman robot. Yeah makes no sense to not tell him his purpose though. The whole twist with omega is that he goes searching for the real shadow but finds out he already knew the real one.

Cream is even more badass in the Sonic X cartoon. During a fighting competition (Which somebody apparently let a 6 year old rabbit and her pet join) a robot copies all the fighters abilities until it goes rogue (Because apparently a little bit of rain completely messes with advanced technology). Everybody fails defeating it but Cream and Cheese who pretty much kick the shit out of it while flying over the ocean.
