I noticed the misspell back in the day and just figured that Steven’s interpretation changed the spelling of centipeetle to centipeedle. But maybe I was giving the show too much credit.

3:06 it's not shown very well, but supposedly the shots of Steven flying back and Centipeetle getting chrushed are supposed to be happening simultaneously, and Centi *wouldn't* have enough time to get out of the way.

got this theory online and it sorta baffled me when I thought about it. the first time I watched this episode I was confused as to why the shine reflecting off Garnet’s gauntlets scared Centipeetle so bad. then, a few weeks ago I read a theory online (I don’t remember the source) that the last thing Nephrite saw before she got corrupted was the blinding light of the Diamond’s corruption light. so it could be possible that the shine reflecting off of Garnet’s gauntlets sent Centipeetle into a panic for that reason, it reminded her of the last thing she saw as an uncorrupted gem.

Review from series ranking: "Steven is bubbled back to the temple during a mission and accidentally pops Centipettle's bubble, bringing it back, but now much more tame, and the rest of the episode is just Steven trying to get it back to normal. This episode starts off pretty nice, but it gets pretty great near the end, where Steven's methods actually fail and Centipeetle is poofed again, and Steven learns that his mother had tried to tame corrupted gems like Centipeetle, but could never find out how. Steven then... suddenly learns how to bubble gems…? Ok? Steven promises to heal Centipeetle, someday, and the episode ends, very nicely. This one started out just okay, but managed to have a fantastic ending. It's going just under Steven And The Stevens."
