Honestly, why did they put the whole pilot within three minutes? Big mistake. I'm still gonna watch it though 👀

I think the issue with shows these days is that writers don't know subtlety. Everything is pushed in your face. They don't let the story speak for itself. For example 'nothing is more important than your sisterhood'. As the audience, we don't need to be told that. We can be shown it instead.

AlienMissy 483 I was thinking more along the lines of them following Phoebes kids all four of them. Her son with Cole survived the destruction of the seer and the council. He is the new big bad. he kills Phoebe immediately after taking the book. (I can see it now he shimmers in takes the book of shadows in front of Phoebe and says “hi mom” she grabs him and attempts to use her empathetic control powers, he shimmers out with her still holding him and he kills her) then it’s up to her daughters with Coop to face their older brother.

Selena Glover it just feels like Wyatt and Chris are all played out. I would love to see Phoebes girls and what their Cupid infused powers can do! And Phoebe and Coles son still being alive creates a bad guy that the girls will have emotional conflict in just killing. He’s their half brother and the last living part of Cole. And his being part mortal, daemon and witch creates an interesting mix for his abilities also. This could also be a story of the sisters trying to redeem him. (Once they get over the debate of vanquish or redeem) and if Phoebe has to go out saving her only child with Cole is the only way I could see it happen.

Damn, everyone hating on this reboot is so hypocrite. I mean, seriously, the original charmed was not better than the new one will be. Sure, for its time it was probably amazing. But now people are complaining about CGI, acting and even the dead parents cliché apparently. I can guarantee, the original charmed wasn't any better in those areas at all. Sure, they had very lovable characters and some could act, but some of them were such bad actors. Difference now is that you've grown up and you critisize more than you did when you were younger. On the CGI thing, it was very bad in the original charmed. And off course the CGI in the reboot doesn't look that good, but you should keep in mind that this is a series, not a movie. The budget per episode is way lower than that of a movie so there is no reason to complain about that. Then the dead parents thing, people complain about this reboot not being enough like the original charmed but when they're going to add in some stuff from the basic storyline, people jump on the bandweagon and start complaining about the parents being dead because it is way too cliché. Like, f*cking make up your mind already. You know that people are even complaining about the skin colour of these actors. I mean, that is complaining just to complain too in my opinion. I agree that this "shit is so corny" but honestly, the CW is a channel aimed for- like you already said- teens. So I see no reason to complain about something like this. My point is the charmed ones powers are supposed to be moving things with your mind, freezing time, and seeing the future. The first one was different for Paige only because she was a whitelighter. If the show is going to be called charmed then they should have the same powers as the original. The charmed powers were the same for generations upon generations of witches. They all have the same in the new one except for the youngest sister, which doesn't make sense. They should either give them all new powers or none at all because it looks rather stupid in my opinion. Why have two out of the three, it's just doesn't make sense to do that. I am not sure where you got your ideas but you are mistaken. Reboots are notorious for changing fundamentals of a characters while leaving the basic premise the same. Take the Spiderman series of the 90s as a reference. Every reboot of that character since they decided to re-create the show and bring it more in line with the comic books. Let's look at the current rendition of the series, he is in high school with Harry Osbourne going to school with Gwen Stacey, and everyone's a kid. Let's analyze the reboot like we just did with spiderman to see how close it is to the original show. 1. Original three sisters discover their powers after their grandmother dies who raised them after the death of the parents. 2. Original three sisters with three powers, telekinesis, time freeze and precognition. 3. Original two of the sisters live in the house while the third sister comes home from living somewhere else after she falls out over their grandmother's death. 4. Grandmother is murdered by some type of otherworldly being. 5. After the death of one of the three sisters, two sisters find out that their mother had an extra marital affair with someone else after that sister shows up after the death of the original sister. 6. Grandmother binds girls powers when they are children to make them easier to raise and give them a semblance of a normal life. Let's look at the Reboot 1. 2 sisters are raised and discover their powers after the death of their mother that binds their powers when they are children. 2. 1 sister shows up after the death of their mother and all three of them receive their powers. 3. Three sisters gain the powers of telekinesis, time freeze and telepathy. 4. Mother is murdered by some otherworldly being. These are the original components of the series that both share with minor modifications. As far as reboots go this isn't bad. Yes, they have a different kind of white lighter that shows up and teaches them about their history and they have a choice to become witches unlike the original series but again not a big change. There powers are more realistic as far as time stop goes and a little stronger but that's not bad either. Honestly I think people are just mad because they wanted to see a continuation of the original series and not have it rebooted. While that's fine and all. It's a reboot, things are going to change and the show is going to go in a different direction while staying true to the original premise. If this is a color thing then that is a different discussion.

Hey I loved the show too. I saw every episode originally from the first to the last. Part of the reason they didn't use the original cast is because of the fighting going on between Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan. I also am glad they didn't ruin the story line of the original by trying to put together episodes that allowed the story to continue. Look at the fun they had doing Star Wars and then going back using filling episodes. You wind up having stuff that isn't cannon anymore because they will mess up all kinds of stuff trying to address what was said in the last episode.

The book in this is just a copy of the book from the movie Beautiful Creatures. They just took off the Moon and slapped a different symbol on it. That was after they had already used the exact same house from The Witches of East End. They could have combined the original series and this one so very easily if they had only researched it. First, it's disrespectful to reconstitute the "Power of Three" with the Halliwells still alive in this time period. Imho, what they should have done, and what would have made fans happy, is go ahead and get the new cast...but use a variation of "Calling the Quarters" instead of the "Power of Three". They could have brought back each of the Halliwell sister (all four) in the premiere to teach these new witches (they would have also needed four) how use the powers of quarter calling. Using the four corners and their corresponding nature powers. North - Earth East - Air South - Fire West - Water Than the original sisters (Halliwell) could go about their business and only show up once in awhile. That would have launched the new show with new actors, but paid homage to the original. Also they should have brought Drew Fuller (Chris Halliwell) to be the new sister's whitelighter. He could have been disguised at first, but you find out later it's him. See...it would have been easy. smh

Thank you!! I thought they would have went in a totally different direction. I have expecting actors from the original cast and a show about the new generation like maybe the charmed ones kids like whyatt and Chris or a few charmed daughters thrown in. There original cast was interesting enough no need to reboot with three awkward teenage girls who all look the same. This has first season cancellation written all over it!! CW is famous for cancelling lame shows after the first season.

I don’t know how CW thought this would be a good idea. 1. Witchy shows are not “in” now, their time has past, so if you decide to make one, then it should be perfect, and not be this much of a mess that it is categorized as failed from the first trailer. 2. They already tried making a show about witches, I don’t believe they even aired the entire first season, it got cancelled so fast. That really should have given someone an inkling not to make the same kind of crap again. 3. Reboots generate more expectations, why would they want to violate the memory of the legend that was “charmed” with this generic, horribly acted, horribly written, horribly CGI-ed piece of crap? Not even gonna watch the first episode. Awaiting cancellation by the tenth one.

The biggest load of crap about Charmed reboot is what pseudo-Leo-slash-Giles said that their mother " BEGAN THE PROCESS of unbinding those powers the night she was murdered." If she was in the middle of unbinding their powers when she was killed, that means the spell shouldn't have worked because it was not completed. Even if it did, they shouldn't have automatically received their powers unless someone read the incantation from the Book of Shadows. Also, take a look at 4:56-4:59. Why are they the same height when they're actually not?! I know, they are sitting down. But people of different heights still looked different when sitting down. So yeah.

You forgot about: - it should be sequel about their kids because it's way too soon for a reboot - 2 sisters have powers like in original but 3rd sister has changed powers (all should have the same or different) - they are awkward together and having 3rd sister as their half-sister seems like an excuse to get different POC My prediction - this show won't survive one season and ratings will be lower with each episode.

I said this elsewhere, I say it again here with a little added: They didn't have to slap Charmed on the series. They have 3 Spanish/Latina women. Was it too complicated for the CW to go with the notion of going with Spanish Witchcraft? Coming up with something original? Name the series Brujas for there is a wealth of lore/mythology and creatures they could have drawn from Spanish witchcraft mythology. They didn't even have to base it on Charmed. If they wanted something original, new, instead of rebooting they could have turned the Brooklyn Bruja series by Zoraida Cordova into a TV series. They missed a chance to make the show stand out. They missed a chance to give more diversity representation by making it their own show without being burdened by the original. Then again, this is the CW. For the 8 seasons that the Vampire Diaries was on and set in Virginia, they apparently ignored the Native Americans that lived there (Bonus points if you can name what famous Native American woman was from Virginia. The tribe is still there, alive. Hint: Disney made a movie about her) and the only mention was one of the characters laughing about bulldozing a sacred NA site and village to make way for the town. The CW, set your expectations lower than low, and you won't be disappointed.

Ok, here's my question. If the mom was in the process of unbinding their powers the night she died, why did she never make contact with the oldest sister before hand. Like, here. Let my just give up this baby for adoption, knowing She's a "charmed one", let me bind her powers so she thinks she's normal, then let me just unbind them, forcing some kind of cosmic relationship with the other kids that I kept without forwarning anyone. Go me. At least with the original, the unbinding wasn't intentional. Grams died. AND giving up Paige was for HER protection and they already had 3 bonded sisters to complete the Charmed Ones til Prue died. In conclusion: WTF was their mother thinking?!

To be fair, perhaps Marisol (I think that's the mother's name?) only intended to unbind the powers of Mel and Maggie (Maddie? Madison?), when something happened that forced her to unbind Macy's as well? To be fair, on the original show: 1. Why bind Prue's, Piper's, and Phoebe's powers but not Paige's? 2. Why didn't Piper, or her sisters, bind any of their children's powers? Especially Piper with her: A: Constant wanting of a "normal" life. And B: Actually acknowledging that Grams binding their (not Paige) powers gave them the gift of innocence.

@@solariusyuuhi2328 Well, I think they said that Patty bound their powers to keep them from danger, but it clearly didn't work because Penny mentions in an episode that demons were always coming after them as kids. Piper grew to hate the fact that their powers were bound as kids and even said once in season 4 that had the three had their powers all along things would have been different, like Prue not being dead and the Source would be (this was before any of the times they killed him that year). Not only that but had any of them bound their kids' powers, it would have left them more vulnerable to the demons. Wyatt and Chris, even as babies were helpful in fighting demons and in Chris's case, bringing Wyatt home after Billie and Christy stole his powers. Patty and Sam gave Paige up right after she was born. They probably didn't have time to do that because she had to be kept a secret, and had they performed the binding ritual the Elders probably could have found out. And it's good that they didn't, because Paige's orbing saved her life as a teenager. That's how she got out of the car when her adoptive parents died.

I had a lot of expectations for the reboot. Few years back, during december holidays, I remember not sleeoing for days and watching charmed after a long time. I never felt that happy. This new stupid thing is just not at the level of my ecpectations. The original charmed used to have more realistic spzcial effects and it was back in mid 90's. What's the use of having new sophisticated special effect technology if the aim was to make some pretty amateur work????

Yes, the reboot does have some differences but the plotline is essentially the same. I loved the original series and I can say that I will be watching the new reboot.
