Uh, before Olimar arrived the Pikmin were nearly extinct and only after Pikmin 1 did they learn how to survive. Also the writing on the ship Koppaite language so this has to take place after Pikmin 3 because we know for a fact that Pikmin 3 is the first time Koppaites travelled to planet PNF-404 or as we know it, planet 🌎.

Ice pikmin are just bitter sprays in pikmin form mixed in with some unique mechanics/abilities. It’s probably a much better and less broken way of using the ability then collecting ultra bitter spray berries. Now you have to sacrifice a pikmin in order to get the same effect. It’s a more balanced way of doing it which I welcome.

The pink crystals are located in multiple areas... so maybe the "pod" your in can land in different spots at the start of the day. Makes sense since these enviorments are HUUUGGGEEE But i noticed something... if these are koopites... why are they collecting treasure. And when you took off at the end, none of them followed you. What i think this is.. is a while planet expedition team. Multiple airships or rescue pods even that could be on the planet and you might get more captains to control that landed in different locations... Since we have the playground in spring, and the garden at summer. Plus if you noticed our character's outfit matches matches everyone else's... however it seems you would have more playable characters due to your captain having an idle animation. And the fact all the castaways are blue so far means that there could be either ranks... or even other things... However! I do want to mention that "bulborbs" are known at the "Grub-Dog" family in olimar's piklopedia notes in pikmin 3... However the new pikmin 3 piklopedia has some "interesting" info... Maybe olimar wanted to go on a planet exdepition, he mentions wanting to explore with the koopite explorers.. probably after he assignment Olimar mentions in the Log. (Day 8 or 6 Olimar Comeback) And maybe he did that, but something must have went wrong.. and they don't have a way to return back home.... Since your rocket is working fine, theirs might be... however they can't Fly it. Plus with how big the pods are, im thinking multiple ships are on this planet... and more captains are in different areas. But i do think Hocotate is working on the planet... if it was koopites then they would only go for fruit. However with this being a planet expedition and how Pikmin 2 had no day limit.. we could see those crystald being fuel for the rockets.. And im kinda imagining our dog can't break crystals or glass.. pots are hard, but glass/Crystals can hard for a charging dog to destroy.. Also it seems the pikmin are dancing to the disco ball to me. Or are attracted... since it seems like they're not panicing... but kinda jumping.. If they were spiced then wouldn't their leafs be flowers still..?? Also im imaging ice pikmin are an underground pikmin.. but im curious about their onion. The onion's colors are on every side... so i think having 8 pikmin kinda helps the onion too. And necter does drop from stoned enemies in pikmin 2. But im still imagining your "Pod" was sent here... And how else do they know what pikmin are..? I mean someone had to teach them..

I’m thinking those crystals are used to create the Ice Pikmin. From an elemental standpoint, water turns to ice, hence perhaps only Blue Pikmin can be upgraded to Ice Pikmin seeing how you don’t see the two at the same time throughout the trailer. Also noticed that maybe the smaller capsule would attach to the top of the larger shuttle, however, the top of that is different from the beginning of the trailer than it is towards the end. Perhaps the ship is upgraded when a specific item is collected. Cannot wait for this game.

The ice pikmin combat probably works like white pikmin, as in the effects come from the enemy digesting the pikmin since the bulborb digests an ice pikmin right before freezing Edit: they seem to also be able to freeze by damaging the bulborb as well since there’s a blue ring around its hp

There's definitely two areas in this trailer, in the backgrounds you can see cherry blossom trees and a large building with a pink roof but other times the background has regular trees and a smaller house, like in 2 and 3 the areas will likely be themed around the seasons with the two areas in this trailer being the spring and summer areas

PNF-404 oxygen levels are toxic to Hocotatians while Koppains can breathe oxygen, must still wear protective suits because it's levels are 3 times higher then Koppai's. You would think that the Bulbie dog would be affected by the oxygen levels of the planet if the dog was native to either Hocotate or Koppai.

Crazy idea, what if the plot of this game is once again having to repair a ship, but this time the ship is HUGE and has a much larger crew (my guess is 20+ members) and you need to explore the dungeons to find them (aka the “castaways”) It would be cool if u can switch out between all the different members, wouldn’t be surprised if Olimar/Louie/The President are among them. I also think the main character is Olimars daughter, and the dog is the same species he named bulborbs after the reason for collecting all these toys/gadgets like the stopwatch binoculars and maybe even the RC boat could be to use as ship parts essentially And maybe they’ll bring back the juice mechanic from 3 and thats why ur still able to collect fruit (another layer of strategy) Last thing, I think the explanation for night mode is that the big ship can’t fly to orbit like in previous games (we see only the all pod fly away) and during night time u need to defend the main ship from crazy enemies

Funny enough, the other thing that made me think the Humans are still around, other than the house, was the potted flowers seen closer to us than the house. It doesn’t take that long for the contents of those pots to get out of control once the said caretaker of said flowers isn’t around. The way that Red Spotted Bulborb is acting normal & then suddenly snaps & acts aggressive with the red eyes makes me believe it is being possessed by something or someone. The new female character is definitely not Brittany's child because if you notice, Hocotatians and Koppaitians have different ears, Hocotatians as Olimar, Louie and Hocotate President have some type of elfs ears as we can see in the new character and Koppaitians have circular ears, life if they were normals. But there is a probability that Brittany just married with a Hocotatian and that's why they a similar appeareance and those ears.

So I think that during the day you will play as the red haired captain with Oatchi and the red, yellow and blue pikmin (plus other types), collecting treasures and searching for castaways in caves, but at night you play as the other 3 captains as we don't see them fly away at sunset like the red haired captain does with Oatchi and the onion, so at night you play as the other 3 captains and potentially with ice, purple and white pikmin as those types don't have an onion (we don't know for certain if ice pikmin don't have an onion but their introductory cutscene looks like it's in a cave and the onion has red, yellow and blue segments but it seems like you find ice pikmin before blue pikmin) Edit: Oatchi's name is pronounced as Oh-chi, also in the scene with the disco long-legs the pikmin do not have the ultra spicy effect instead that looks like poison effect and that they need to be whistled to help them or they will die

Pikmin 2 is what got me into Pikmin. Me, being an idiot, ignored the Pikmin franchise for years, until my brother brought his Gamecube with Pikmin 2 and DKJB over one day. I tried DKJB first, but couldn't get into it, then I reluctantly tried Pikmin 2, then I kept playing, and playing and got hooked. Became a Pikmin fan instantly. I've also replayed Pikimin 2 like 14 times. 😂 If Nintendo remasters Pikmin 2 like Metroid Prime, I'll lose my mind.

I have a theory that pikmin 4 is actually a prequel and takes place before pikmin 1 to prove this the environment looks less destroyed looks less abandoned. This could also mean that Pikmin bloom is cannon in a way were pikmin were a well known creatures in the pikmin universe when humankind was still around and maybe Pikmin bloom might take places before pikmin 4 but how would I know 🤷

2 things 1. I am just hoping Ice Pikmin aren't the only new Pikmin in this game. Pikmin 2 and 3 both gave us 2 new Pikmin types. And don't get me wrong I am glad to have all of the Pikmin in one game but I am hoping for at least one new Pikmin type. 2. I hope for the sake of Pikmin fans that the series doesn't go on a long hiatus after Pikmin 4 again like how the Pikmin series has a reputation of doing.

I think the pikmin below the beady longlegs are actually poisoned. Not using super spicy spray. Cause they look like they're panicking as well as the effect being purple and not red.
