A correction to this video: The earliest Omega Seamaster 600 batch with a movement serial number around 21.4 million dating to 1964 came with a caliber 600 instead of 601. Many of these Seamaster 600 with the caliber 600 were sold by Turler.

There are too many Geneve case models. It would be hard to accumulate all Geneve case models in one video. First geneve was introduced in the mid 1950s and they continue on throughout the 70s. Not to mention there are many different case designs and different movements from different caliber series as well.

@TimelessHistoryChannel
@TimelessHistoryChannel 3 жыл бұрын
Instead of reluming you should try to save it. The last thing that you want to do is to relume the hands. Best to avoid a watch with missing lume to begin with.

Fantastic video! Very informative. I got my 1966 135.011 at a thrift store for $4.99. True story. Mine has the raised (not stamped) logo on the case back which I don’t see often. Nice! Thank you for sharing. Yes yes! I totally forgot to mention that in the video. Your case back is also correct. But those do not surface very often. I was told by my watchmaker that the Seamaster 600 crown gasket cannot be replaced without sourcing a completely new crown. Can you clarify what I should do to put a new gasket into the crown?
@TimelessHistoryChannel
@TimelessHistoryChannel 3 жыл бұрын
You can put a new gasket. But just make sure your watchmaker can order one of the same size and as close as possible. Sometime it can be a challenge to remove the old gasket and replace the new one as well. Which is why your watchmaker say he cannot replace it. Saving him time to explain it to you.

I'm 4 goes into this video. So if I wanted to source a 1967 no date 34mm 600. I'm looking for case 135.011. With 601 movement? Dial will say Seamaster Geneve? Blimey this is complicated. Back to the note taking I guess.
@TimelessHistoryChannel
@TimelessHistoryChannel 3 жыл бұрын
That's correct, 135.011 will be a non-date Seamaster 600 Geneve with caliber 601. However, a very early 25 million serial number (estimate 1967 circa) could also be a late 1966 release date as well. Which is why you may find some listing showing a Seamaster 600 dating to 1967 because the serial number maybe 25,0##,###.

@@TimelessHistoryChannel no question the hands are wrong. Is it the "omega" or the "seamaster" that's bad? Or both? Is the e too connected to the s?
@TimelessHistoryChannel
@TimelessHistoryChannel 3 жыл бұрын
@@dummule_ I didn't bother to look at the Seamaster first to be honest. The first thing I look at is the format of the dial. I know a lot of people redial a Seamaster 600 this way in order pretend it is a PAF watch. So the luminous and finish are the first sign that are incorrect. And to 100% confirm that this is a redial, you can tell the Omega logo is incorrect and the Omega font is wrong as well.
