TSA pre check is the best thing. Well worth the money. I used to travel a lot and I will never not have it. Last time I flew, there was about 150 people in regular security line and only 5 in pre check. Fine by me!

I have three plastic bags in my personal bag. One for the 311, a small bag for the items I’m going to have in my pocket and the third bag that includes anything that I want easy access to that I put in the pocket front of you. That pocket can be filled with germs so I’d like to keep my Kindle handy, sanitizer/wipes, etc. In my pocket, I always keep eyedrop drops, Kleenex and lip balm. These bags keep me organized and things cleaner.
@vpedrin2516Ай бұрын
Great idea, especially if you plan to use the seat pocket, which I never will. It’s filthy (they never sanitize it) & it’s easy to forget something & leave it behind (been there done that). No seat pockets for me!

As an Aussie with bad anxiety who has never flown internationally (but will next year, CAN + USA) the step by step about security etc it beyond helpful. Thank you so much!! Appreciate all the hardwork you put into these videos

Good stuff! As an infrequent flyer, I enjoy watching these videos as a refresher and confidence booster. I have a couple minor tweaks or suggestions that I do for myself... You can get USB data blockers pretty cheap, they're available as little plugs or short cables. They allow you to convert your standard cable into charging only. It can slow down charging a bit, as your phone can't negotiate accelerated charging rates, but it prevents malware from unknown power sources. They particularly handy if you're really trying to conserve your battery pack. I also download airport maps before leaving the house. It's a handy reference for finding gates, bathrooms, food, or whatever. It's especially useful to provide a quick review of airport locations before you get off the plane for a short layover. Finally, I carry a cheap disposable grocery bag to collect stuff. Sometimes it's garbage, but usually it's bottles or cans. Airlines don't seem to recycle, but airports (at least US domestic) usually have recycling bins if you're willing to spend an extra 30 seconds to bus your own waste off the plane.

As I recently saw on another KZbin channel, you can also use a packing cube filled with clothes in place of a pillow, giving you one less item to pack; the smaller ones would also be great for preventing back pain by helping to maintain proper alignment.

Some airlines like Aircanada lets you self check-in your own luggage, if you have already completed the check-in process on the app and have your boarding pass already
@davesaunders7080Ай бұрын
I always have the airlines app on the phone, It keeps you informed if any delays happen and if flight is cancelled can give you up to date info regarding rebooking.

I’ll be waiting for your review of the pillow/head restraint! Mine just arrived at the front door - flying to Japan alone & don’t want to end up cozying up to my neighbor’s shoulder or flopping around ..who knows if I’ll use it but feel like it’s skinny enough to slip down the side of my backpack 🤷🏻♀️
@alysmallsАй бұрын
I have now used it on 2 separate flights, and it is AMAZING!! It worked so well. Takes a couple of minutes to get used tom but once you do it's a game changer. I slept great! This is the only 'pillow' that has actually worked for me so far

Always look forward to your travel videos. Something I learned today was through your video regarding purchasing electronic Sim cards , will have to look into that further thank you very much Aly.

Excellent tips! I just have a suggestion ... sometimes you'll lower your voice and very quickly mutter some comment that's really important. Such as, at 5:08 when you talk about collecting items from the TSA screening area and then need to reorganize the items in our bags, you quickly say, almost apologetically, "Don't do it where you grabbed your bin from". I know you want to be nice but it would really help if you could clearly point out important matters like that. Your videos are super helpful, thank you!

One thing which you did not mention is going through Customs. Here in Australia (and in my experience some other countries too) you need to present your passport to Customs and complete an Outgoing Passenger Card when departing the country.
@shaunperthАй бұрын
You don’t need to complete an outgoing passenger card anymore when leaving Australia

Thanks for your videos. Very helpful. Re: TSA Precheck, no need to put things separately into the bins? Do you still need the 311 bag in that case?

Great information! We fly West Jet from Canada and wonder how to book for the waiting lounge in PV? Also, what is the best phone plan - as telus has ridiculous daily rates. Thanks
@alysmalls28 күн бұрын
Hi there, we use Priority Pass lounge access - so if you have a credit card with PP access it works well, otherwise you can just pay. And Airalo e-sim is what I've been using for phone: airalo.tp.st/IQX77Lab

Hello! I like your videos. But I've just found out that on BASIC ECONOMY you are ONLY allowed one 9x10x17 carry on. That is ridiculously small, and we have an 18 hour flight. How come 100% of all videos ONLY apply to rich people who are allowed 2 carry ons, and not us poor people who are only allowed to have 1 tiny little bag? Thanks for any answers!

There are plugs and cables that only allow for charging. I have one bag for 311 and one for my electronic items that I will want access to.

Do you happen to know which countries prohibit you from bringing water on the plane? I always buy bottled water in the airport after going through security, but once they had a secondary security screening *on the jetway* that took away all of our sealed water bottles just before getting on a 13 hour flight 😫😫😫 I was so dehydrated when we landed! and frustrated that I was out $30 in water!

These questions come to me when i'm online after midnight watching this... 🤔 Is it possible to travel out of country (I'm in Canada, flying to US soon for 2 weeks) without using my sim card? I mean, do i need my phone connected to my carrier for the airlines or hotel to be able to contact me (in case of changes, for instance)? Do I need my phone number to get my boarding pass put on it? (Do they still print out boarding passes?) What would happen if i took out my sim card? Would my apps still work with wifi without a sim? 😁 So i have to check in 24 hrs earlier online AND check in at a kiosk (or counter) to get a boarding pass...? Can i check in twice? Wouldn't the second time say "you've already checked in"?
@alysmallsАй бұрын
If you are traveling to US, you can exist just on Wifi - as long as you have email you shouldn't need a phone number. You don't need to take out your sim card, you just turn off your sim and/or roaming. You'll still have access to all your apps. Most online check-ins email your boarding pass, but sometimes they can't issue it until the airport, but not often. It will tell you when you check in online.
