I love my tripped toiletries bag. I have tried all kinds, all sizes, all styles, and am always left wanting. Until this september when i did a month long trip to slovenia and Austria, that included a 9 day hiking adventure in the mountains. The tripped toiletries bag fit my needs in every type of lodging.

Thanks so much for the idea of the flat plug! I regularly travel for work to an older hotel where the only available outlets are behind the beds and am always frustrated by having to pull the bed out from the wall and then have a huge gap behind the bed and wall while I sleep because of the charging brick.

100% agree with compression socks… prevention is better than cure. Plus they help with shin splints, as I found walking 8-12 miles a day during a recent 14-day trip to Japan. And I also recommend the Matador soap bag and JBL Clip4 Bluetooth speaker, both of which were shown in this video, and which I’ve had few a few years now.

The Mighty Patch definitely works. I had a pretty nasty pre-pimple that I had admittedly picked at. I put one of the patches on. I left it on overnight and into the next day until I had to go out. When I took it off, the underside had a huge glob of white gunk and the pimple was basically gone. The was just a little pinkness at the spot because I had picked at it. These things are amazing.

The Tripped toiletries bag is the best I've ever used and I think that I have 4-5 others from fine brands, but they are always lacking something. I went on a 3 month trip this year and used the Tripped Weekender size compression cubes. I always check a bag, and they are large, so I could put all of my tops and bottoms in one cube without splitting things up. If I go on a regular trip, I still used tripped but the regular packing cubes.

Southwest won’t let you bring on the 3rd piece extra backpack or purse. TWO ITEMS ONLY. You need to leave room to stuff smaller bag/ purse in roller bag or other bag while boarding. They are enforcing and not necessarily being nice about it.

I bought the same Travel Pro bag. Beware if you put a bag on top it will flip over. Did it to me prior to getting on the plane and it bent the extension poles so much so I could not retract them. Had to put it into overhead with the poles stuck open. I was stuck in the airport for many hours and it kept flipping over. I even lost items that fell out of my backpack because of this. I cannot recommend the bag for this reason.

*Immediate fault on luggage* - 2 wheels only, recessed at corners, and low profile (preferably recessed) handles, flush or no outer pockets, otherwise you give up over 1/2 cu-ft of space. *Zippered Clamshell Luggage Warning* - In the hold there will be hundreds of pounds piled on top, if they aren't filled they can collapse and rip the zipper from the case. *Forget compression packing cubes,* use compression luggage - sit on it to close the zipper. *Memory foam slippers* are wasted space for a seldom used item, look for the cheap completely flat ones like they used to give you on airplanes, or socks with rubber soles. *No to the backpack purse,* get a rectangular shaped backpack, at the airline personal item dimension limits. *Yes to the scale,* and definitely pack for the return trip. *Yes to the charging battery,* I also gave a compact hand crank and compact solar battery for overnight backpacking. *Yes to the headphone adapter,* screw the airline headphone rental fees. *Electronics bag is a waste,* either pack in a compartment in backpack, or use something dual-use - I have a clear tpp Pelican micro-case which I also use to pack batteries to get through security, which is also waterproof/submersible. *Travel pillow is a waste,* just carry sleeping mask, can use sweatshirt rolled/folded in any form you want. *Hair dryer brush* looks more like a self defense weapon, but whatever. *Lousy water bottle,* get a thermos for hot/cold, or a bottle with a sling for easy carrying while sightseeing. *Not saying you should break the law,* but you can buy Amoxicillin through the mail online, a powerful antibiotic, or buy over the counter in a lot of countries, I don't travel without it.

I use a cross body purse I picked up from Walmart for $17.00 CDN. It’s nylon so it’s lightweight and it’s small but holds my large Bose noise cancelling headset case, snacks, hygiene and toiletries items I need. Once I’m at my destination it’s great for anything I want with me. Lots of zippered pockets. Athleta, Lulu Lemon, and other brands make something similar but this one is organized better so it holds more and is cheaper. I’ve even used it as an overnight bag. I can’t find it online anymore but many stores carry it.

Amazing list! Thank you so much. Just to note for people who are on medication: activated charcoal can make your medications not do what they are meant to (aka neutralise them). They give them to you if you have consumed bad things that need to pass through your system, a good example is they also give them to dogs who ate chocolate. As a chronically ill person who has to take daily meds it is something my doctor has warned me about so thought I would share. Also not a doctor so double check with yours before taking?
@melissaschloneger9902

I am a doctor and wholeheartedly agree that it can be dangerous to take activated charcoal. We dont give it as much as we used to in the ER because if people accidentally inhale it into their lungs, it can cause severe damage.

Poisons aren't the only substances activated charcoal can bind to in the stomach. It can also bind to foods you have eaten, blocking the absorption of nutrients and medications you may have taken, reducing their effectiveness. "If you are taking a medication that requires a certain dosage to be effective, you may be putting yourself at risk," Johnson warns. Aside from medication interactions, other risks involved with taking activated charcoal include common side effects like constipation, which occurs when the charcoal enters the intestine and hardens. In more severe cases, this could lead to bowel blockages or perforation.

Air Canada is crazy strict on carryon. I got my bag gate checked and never had before in 10 years. So ... I went down the rabbit hole trying to find one that will pass. Example: Monos says they pass AC requirements. However, their listed measurements are larger than that on AC's website. Sure enough, Reddit users confirmed they have had to gate check their Monos. I created a spreadsheet of various suitcases with their external and internal dimensions to find the one that would fit and maximized packing volume and weighed the least. The one I came up with was July Carry-on. What are folks thoughts on the July? It's on my Christmas wishlist.

Lots of stuff that you recommend put together weighs a lot. I went to Europe for a month in December 2024 And I brought a battery to charge my phone and never used it. It weighs quite a bit so it's not going in my backpack next time. Ziploc bags are much cheaper as packing cubes And they do compress. The Bluetooth idea for plugging into the back of the airplane seat is a good idea and I thought of getting one except none of the movies that are offered or any good so I just download movies to my phone or tablet from Netflix. I do backpack that's about 21 in long Much easier navigating up and down stairs in Europe as well as wandering through the airport and plane. 2 changes of everything Laundry soap to wash in the sink Two pairs of reading glasses and sunglasses and a hat and a very tiny umbrella And of course a fleece to keep warm and cooler weather or a jacket in winter travel A hat to keep the sun off All the toiletries in a quart size bag Ziploc Laundry detergent and wash in the sink of the hotel. Bluetooth noise canceling earbuds particularly helpful on noisy planes and good for watching movies in a park or even in a restaurant A couple European converter plugs and two cables and charging plugs for the phone and tablet. Keep it light

7:39 I cannot understand how people can wear an eye mask on a flight, you’re face is exposed and your eyes are covered, meaning everyone can see you and you can’t see anything - I would feel to vulnerable around strangers to do that I prefer to use a scarf that is darkening but I can see thru but others can’t see my face

So you have your carryon and your personal oversized bag put up on top? where does mine go? So your base small is 11 pounds when full for Sunwing carry on limit ? And that is all you take? Carry on only right you said. Your fold out bathroom bag looks like is more than that. sorry. Not saying anything about the massive hair thingy. ha I would love to see you pack per regulations. Practicality. Be honest how many pds do you travel with? I am going to Cuba for 2 weeks, 7 pds is my stuff, the rest 43 pds check in luggage ( remember check in) is gifts, on Sunwing discount airline. And I travel on the plane with just essentials. sorry again I just don't get all the videos with carry on only and there so much stuff things I never even knew about.

You are carrying way too many items for carry-on. The rollie, the duffle on top PLUS a personal item. YOU are why there is no room for anyone else’s bag on the plane.

Any time I travel with a sling bag/small backpack, it's always packed away for the flight, but thanks for your concern! ☺

I have spent more hours than I count (days worth and possibly weeks!) researching lightweight, simplistic travel. Just when I think I can’t learn much more, you surprise me with a tip or product. Love it! Thank you 🙏🏻

I’ve replaced my slippers with lightweight slip on sneakers. They’re perfect for going through the checkout and then wearing on the plane. My feet don’t get cold and they also don’t get hot. And they’re outdoor wearable enough to wear them in a hotel or around the airport

Southwest won’t let you bring on the 3rd piece extra backpack or purse. TWO ITEMS ONLY. You need to leave room to stuff smaller bag/ purse in roller bag or other bag while boarding. They are enforcing and not necessarily being nice about it.

My guess is she meant that she uses that when she's at her destination. I put my purse in my carryon... I think she probably does the same, when boarding.
