@@orenjixisee above paragraph ^ Not much support i believe, although the j series has universal mods so bolts on, maybe cams? Bolt ons would benefit more on displacement & cylinder count. Same things though, every car is exactly the same. I assume if you guys a looking for tutorials on car modifications, youre not looking to do fab work for swaps or full engine disassembly. Id say have fun with bolt ons, Good suspension & tires, camber arms to fix your correct your geometry. You’ll enjoy going out for drives in your rad car, get some looks, do some pulls, hear the intake, etc. Im assuming daily drivers so less is more in that case. Than dealing with tune issues, idle issues, part failure, etc etc. Have fun 👍🏼

On my 2017 I just ran good springs, well tein something techs, they worked good with the newer suspension type. Took the muffler off and ran twin shotgun style pipes from the rear subframe area, short shift kit with bushing upgrades for shifter assembly, and an intake. Gotta make sure your intake upgrades are solid and seal correctly or you get an ecu code. Otherwise good conti tires and it was set for daily fun duty. Was a 2.0 non turbo 6 speed. I know, not a cool one but it flew under the radar really well.

No shame in that. I have a 17' Civic Sport with an L15BA/ CVT setup. It's not a race track car, but enough parts and tuning out into it and it's street gold. Compared to the 13' Chevy Malibu I was driving previously, I have never once regretted it. Would choose the Civic over some of the higher end cars any day, Mk5 Supras included.

Hey just an FYI, that car in the Ad you kept showing is not a Honda Civic. It's a Honda Z600 which predated the Civic's launch. Consider it a Civic 0.5 gen if you must. It actually was powered by a motorcycle engine!
@harshivjotsingh80733 ай бұрын
Trust me, save up and find a stock Civic if your looking for 6th Gen and older. Personally I would love to own and modify a EK or an EF civic and go for an OEM+ build. However, in my wife's case, she wanted a nice compact hatchback as her first car. Her family had a Cressida growing up and she's grown up with 90s cars around her. I suggested a bunch of cars but once I figured out she liked EK the most, I started looking for a GLI EK1 Civic (Australian market top trim). After 2 months of searching I found my wife a Purple 1996 EK1 Hatch with 80,000kms on it. 1 lady owner, full service history, no rust, no paint fade, interior still like new and still has the stock cassette player. The only thing aftermarket is the period correct 5 spoke tsw wheels lol. We've had it for just over a year now and we live in Inner Sydney so its been the perfect city car. Service is cheap and in future I plan to do the basics myself, what amazes me is that my wife knows nothing about cars but she adores her civic to death. It's her first car and she learnt driving on a 2016 audi q3. At first she missed the audi's torque but the EK's linear NA power feels more predictable and organic to her. She loves the handling of the car and in her words "it goes exactly where I want it to go". The car is daily driven and my wife's driving has improved so much. Those old civics even in their stock 90-100hp are still soo much fun. Honda engineered simplicity so gracefully in the older civics and had the reliability to back it up with. I've come to appreciate stock civics even more as I get older (me and my wife are born 96 too lol). So yeah, spend the money and find a stock civic low mileage (worst case import one from Japan) and enjoy it stock for a bit and then tastefully modify it. The scene needs more people who can keep these cars stock. One day our civic will be someone else's pride, until then we'll take care of it so other can in the future. Can't vouch for newer civics but older ones are some damn honest cars. Find the right one and it'll take care of you and it will take care of you!

Anyone looking at a 10th Gen for style, get whatever you think looks cool. If you’re going in for power, you gotta ask yourself how much money you want to spend and what your goals for the car are. End all/be all, the Type-R is gonna be your answer to any of those questions, it’s a fantastic car but, money plays a big role. Do you have Type-R maintenance money? Primarily brakes, tires, owner costs, and upgrades, all a premium compared to the Si. Type-R will wipe the floor with the Si but, it’s expensive & like $10-15k more. Si is a great entry car, handles decent, solid feeling 6-speed, turbo, enough space, etc. Handling, you can stream line pretty quick with coilovers, sway bars, braces and all. Power wise, you NEED to go the cookie cutter route. ARP HEAD STUDS (new headgasket to be safe), UPGRADED CLUTCH (Type-R retrofit preferably), and UPGRADED INTERCOOLER. The new revised OEM Honda injectors are a plus too. I know, boring non-fast parts. Those are the key to prolonging the 1.5T platform. Those will save you from heartaches & headaches later down the road. They’re good for about 350-370hp range without obliterating the rods on a stock block (Si trims). Fun zippy cars, kill a scat or whatever V8 on the street, good backroads/spirited daily. Get QUALITY parts (PRL/27Won primarily for the platform, engine wise). The Si I feel is the all-around car, Type-R can be as well but, more of a toy/weekend car.

Miatas bro... NA and NB. Ok... You can stock the NC and ND parts too. Gimme all the mods and replacement parts. Door/window seals, bolt-in seats, fuel pumps, injectors, turbo kits, turbo manifolds, etc. Custom fabed stuff that's sold as a bolt-on. Spoilers, replacement trunks, roll bars, body kits, TRACK PADS... The list goes on. I need the Amazon of parts for my miata. They don't exist though. FM is meh. :( On the Civic, I couldn't agree more. It's a great starter platform. Especially the EF, EG, and EK platforms. I lost track after that. For mods. Swaybars: yes! I would prioritize the rear over the front because the vehicle is FWD. Once the rear slips, if you can't power through it, you might end up in a ditch. Coilovers: depends on budget. I would stick to around the $1000 range on a budget build. Anything cheaper is a waste of time. $4k coilovers are optimal performance/quality. Tires: I just prefer Kumho. Never had any blow on me. I did have an older Continental blow on me back in 2003... In an EF Civic. Kumho has good summer tires and I've never had any issues with them for light track duty. I like these videos. Cheers.

From a current fk8 owner, type r is big boy stuff. Nothing is cheap on this car so you can't send it everyday. You'll be replacing tires and brakes like crazy. Plus if you don't like auto detailing, it will be a nightmare. TLC is key. Just do your homework before pulling the trigger. Cheers!
