Everything You Never Knew About Animal Crossing for GameCube II

For as many years as I've been playing this game, it always seems like there's more to discover. From large glitches to small easter eggs, check out a plethora of cool secrets from my favorite video game.

One of the people working on decompiling this game here! Here's the concrete info about a few discussed topics. Weather - there are five weather types and each one has 3 levels of intensity (except for clear weather). The five types are clear, rain, snow, cherry blossoms, and falling leaves (only seen in K.K. concerts). Rainbows - rainbows will occur the same calendar day which it transitions from rain to clear weather. The rainbow is only visible from 9AM until 3PM and will fade out completely by 3:30PM. Rainbows only appear in the summer season. And for 3 layer towns, both waterfalls will show a rainbow! Three layer towns - they are programmed into the game intentionally and can select one of a handful unique layouts unlike two layer towns which are generated entirely unique. It's a 1/15 chance to get a three layered town if I recall correctly. Walk on tables duplication glitch - the second item dropped must be a music player. This is because the game actually stores the active music track for the room invisibly above the music player (kind of like its a table). When you take the item off of the music player, the game won't delete it because its not a valid music item thus leading to duplication. Bowsersenemy - they deleted their entire archive of videos due to an unfortunate fear that the government would come after them for making hacking related content. We worked together back in 2017 for a brief period before they disappeared again. Timmy & Tommy voice pitch - Their voices are controlled through invisible commands in the text itself and the devs very likely could've messed up the order of commands leading to the glitch you experienced.

I made a house one time in the game and I placed those weird looking sound cactus especially that made noise and I tried playing a note to see if I can make music and playing notes are very difficult and unusual. I left the GameCube off for a week, then I returned to the house, I was missing two of the cactuses.

Tortimer's name is pronounced the same way as Mortimer, not "Tore Timer". It's a cross between the name Mortimer and the animal Tortoise.

This one of my all time favorite games and even to this days I still love it to come back and play it sometimes. Nice video by the way!, but let me tell you that there are more secrets in the game that you didn't covered, so if you have plans for a third video and need suggestions, here I leave you some ones that I know, various are very knowed nowdays but others are quite hidden and cryptic. 1) Cedar trees can't be grow in the south part of the town despite that the town at first can generate it, if you have one of those trees there, better not cut it down. 2) There is a secret event that involve fishing that no much people knows it existence, no idea if is a glitch or a secret after all but anyway, since September 1st to September 10th the Sea Bass dissapear from the ocean leaving the expensives fishes: Red Snapper, Barred Knifejaw, Salmon (only on river mouth acre) and Coelacanth (rainy days only) to appear, it's the perfect time of the year to get some easy money on the game (without buying turnips, using glitches or traveling to the island). 3) There are actually dialogues regarding to the memory card status, one of them is the "corrupt save data" in which actually the villager makes a shocking reaction and tells you the sad situation and then after delete the data it's gives you a farewell (it's kind sad actually), another one is about the in where is memory card?, that happen when you remove the memory card in middle of the game and then try to save and the last one is quite unique, you need to load the game, remove the memory card in middle of the game and replace it by another one empty, when you are going to save the villager will tell that is not the original memory card where the town was loaded and encourages you put the REAL one, that actually I found it very funny. 4) This one I never could figure it out what happen exactly but when Blanca (the faceless cat) is on the town and is on the same acre as the Police Station and close to Copper, both of them makes an animation that looks like they are "kissing" eachother but it could be something else really. Not counting also the fact that years later was revealed that Blanca is a dude meaning that Copper would be... * YMCA song start to play * (Oh no, not that song again!) 5) Old villagers that move out of your town can come back for a quick visit, yeah is a hidden event and happens very rarely but you can find an old villager that moved from your town before running and wandering around in an acre and if you talk to it they are happy to see you and talk about how different looks the town or other things. 6) The sardine season, for some weird reason which I could never understand, sometimes in March or April the villagers mention that the sardine season started and they didn't catch one yet, the thing is there is not a sardine in the game so what fish are they talking?, not sure if was a translation mistake or something. 7) When Resetti demands you to repeat his line, tell some specific answer like: "No way!" or "I hate you" and you will trigger a secret dialogue. 8) Despite is not a secret or something very important but the GBA mini-game Animal Island can be played on the Game Boy Player but you need a second GameCube or a Wii with backwards compatibility to do that.

I think the ones I remember when playing the game that many years ago was the lightning and thunder inside the house and the rainbow. I wasn't sure how to get the rainbow to activate at the time, but it sure was nice to see it when it does show up. Also, I may not have used the glitch to activate walking on water, but I did use an Action Replay to do the moon jump into bodies of water to walk on. Those were fun.

18:14 "Nothing bad happens" I wish I knew this as a kid playing this game. When Tortimer gave me the task to turn on the lighthouse every night, I forgot to turn it on one of the nights. The next day, Gulliver coincidentally washed up on shore, which at this point was my first time meeting him. I thought because I didn't turn on the lighthouse, I caused his ship to crash. I felt so guilty, I stopped playing the game after that.

Animal Crossing games actually still work on an acre system, it’s just not communicated to the player like in GCN. If you mess with save editors you can even replace entire acres with a different acre type.

i miss my original purple and black gamecube with animal crossing, and my 5 animal crossing green memory cards that i keep buying from toys r us back in the day when my parents and i go there, i had summer jobs and aunts and uncles and saved up my money. i kept lots of towns on each memory cards. i do plan on buying the lego animal crossing sets to actually get to make my own ac island in real life. i used to keep lots of nes games all over the place. i ❤ your video, they are soo helpful. i miss my teenage years. i also had ac wild world on my white clamshell ds, the one that looks like a chocolate bar style ds.

I didn't play any AC games till my senior year of high school. My friend let me borrow his copy of original Animal Crossing and it was so much fun :3 At some point I was tasked to turn on the lighthouse lights for Tortimer and I missed a day. I felt so bad and didn't wanna face Tortimer so I returned the game back to my friend ^^;; Good to know all these years later it was never that big of a deal. Great video as usual btw

wow, I have no experience with this game in particular, but I love being reminded of how well-crafted games have all these little details and easter eggs that are actually fun to learn about on your own. The older pokemon games did this a bit, so I do feel a lot more nostalgic that games were great back then when I could experience them as a kid.

animal crossing new leaf on the 3ds is my personal favorite animal crossing game. it takes everything from all of the previous games and expands and enhances them. and not even new horizons has match it for me. and also, new leaf was the first animal crossing game that really got me in the series. i do remember playing a bit of the original game on the gamecube when i was younger, but i didn’t get hooked like what new leaf did. it’s just peak animal crossing

Starting January 1st 2025 i will replay each animal Crossing for one year and i am trying to play at least a little everyday if possible. I will start in release order but i'll skip the N64 japanese exlusive since it's pretty much the gamecube game. So 2025 is the year of Animal Crossing GC for me and i am excited since i haven't played it since probably 2009. I will also try to get all gold tools and time travel is forbidden.

Also if I were to play the same game forever, it would be Wild World. Not only was it my first AC game (I got it in 2008 or so), but the in-game clock also goes all the way up to 2099 (Unlike ACGC, which only goes up to 2030). I have the most fun with ACGC though, I love the amount of holidays and I love how mean the villagers are lol

Hey Lsuper, what you think about a video of 'das loch im westen', the first animated movie of "walt disney of germany" Hans Fischerkoesen? There's also the first brazilian animation, the short 'Kaisen' (1917) by Álvaro Martins, only one image survived, altough some people tried to make recreations of it. Those feel like the type of lost medias that are also historically important to find, but also have higher chance to be lost forever.

There is an occurrence in the game that happened to me when I was very young, it was of a villager of mine who had previously moved out walking around my town crying saying how much they missed it, and once you left the acre they were in they would disappear. I posted about it on reddit a couple years ago and nobody knew what I was talking about and said perhaps I had dreamed it. I actually had it occur again the last time I played the game, I think it is triggered somehow by travelling back and forth between towns using a second memory card. I think the villager that appears crying is one which moved to the town on the secondary memory card. I took a video of it the last time it happened. I still haven't seen anyone else mention it anywhere, does anybody else know what I'm talking about?

I’ve experienced that as well dude I remember that, I thought it was kinda weird when it happened and haven’t heard of anyone mentioning it before. It must be an extremely rare event. If memory serves correctly, I believe it is possible for villagers who have moved out of your town, to visit it but it’s a rare occurrence. So this must be that event or a similar situation. I have vivid memory of this particular event you speak of in my old childhood town.

...ok so whats the deal with those giant "leaf piles" only in the first game? are they like bushes or what? they are dotted around most of the town and take up space as you cant plant flowers on them. i can assume they are there to limit memory usage for that very purpose, but like what ARE they? i cant think of anything that is like that in real life, but ive never seen anybody point them out. its always kind of bothered me. EDIT: ehhh, never mind. i tried googling around and they are indeed bushes, just really wide and flat. another thing is they spawn certain bugs, which i did NOT remember so they are for more than just being a background detail of one's town.

Animal Crossing on GC had better dialogue, imo. And things didn't break. My personal pet peeve about New Horizons is the crafting aspect. I'd rather collect furniture than make it.

Eh, it depends on what you're playing for. For crafting, house decorating, and overall content in quantity? Sure But if you're playing for the villager interactions and dialogue, then Population Growing is Way higher quality. Either way, I personally wouldn't have chosen Population Growing as the one I'd play forever like he did, id rather have wild world, it's got so much more content while still having a lot of the same quality of dialogue.

New Horizons is great and I don't think that AC games can be categorized as "better" than each other since they change things up enough that I enjoy them for different things. That said, if I had to choose a forever Animal Crossing, mine would be New Leaf. Though I would miss Wild World's soundtrack and dialogue, haha! And the newer KK tracks from New Horizons.
