Jim I'm a subscriber and I watch regularly. My two cents... In my 60's now and my 2020 RKS is the bike for me. Years on the rolling tech platforms and yes they have their place but for me, in a simpler phase of life; the RKS is the most uncomplicated, uncluttered touring bike on the road. With respect, the tech on these bikes will be antiquated in a short period of time. Not the case with the RKS. Analog speedos don't go out of style and never need software updates. Ride on Jim. If/when I get a 24 I will be sure to go back to this video to help me through all of these screen displays. On my street glide I can't punch in a destination while the bike is moving. It's a built-in safety feature. Was wondering if the 24s are like that too.

What does maximum engine braking do? And why would I want that setting? Does it make the bike slow way down as soon as you let off the throttle? Thank You, very helpful video 😎👍
@jst_moto4 ай бұрын
@@michaelroy925 I don’t know technically how it accomplishes it. What I can say is you can tell a difference when you downshift and release the clutch while engine braking between the settings. I find it useful on twisties when I’m riding in a lower gear than I normally would for that speed meaning just reducing the throttle slows the bike more quickly as entering turns. I suggest you pick one setting, change it, ride a little then change it again and see the difference until you find the balance that works best for you and your riding style. I was just showing you what works for me. Thanks for the compliment. I’m glad you found it helpful!!

I don't want to pay for the HD Nav feature, and I have an Android phone so can't use Car Play. Google Maps obviously won't work on the 24 baggers. Does Waze navigation work on the infotainment? If so, how?
@jst_moto2 ай бұрын
@@johnwilliams7697 the only way either Google maps or Waze will work is with CarPlay or whatever Androids version of that function is. I’ve seen some things on forums that there are some folks that have gotten the Androids to connect in a similar way. However, while I know it’s not ideal, you can mount the phone on your throttle side of the bars and navigate visually from your phone while hearing the prompts and music through either your helmet or the speaker system. You can connect the phone to the bike via Bluetooth for audio. Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you. Let me know what you end up doing. Thanks for watching and commenting. Always ride safe.

Ok so I just went out to mine and checked before I answered. There is no way (other than hitting the volume down button) to silence the radio. When you hit the center button on Bluetooth you are pausing the music stream that is why it stops. There is no way to mute a radio station with one push on any button. I even tried the push to talk just to see.
