I actually did own a 3G for a little while. I got it from a friend and this was when I was using my iPhone 5S. While it couldn’t do a whole lot, it was a great music and audiobook player for when I wanted to conserve my main phones battery on long trips to track meets and cross country events.

Working at Best Buy we did have a heat shrink machine. So you were able to re heat shrink plastic around things but the creases would be hard to pull off. The plastic was a roll and you put the electronics inside the plastic which was open on one end then put it down on the heated bar to cut the plastic then use the heat shrink gun to blow the heat around the plastic to make it fit whatever it was you tried to re wrap.

the very first iphone i ever layed my hands on was my mum iphone 3gs, i remember it was like the biggest thing back then as it was the first iphone that could take video. I took the phone everywhere with me (when my mum got the iphone 4s) to take photos of everything. The most vivid moment i have is when there was this lego expo thing in the city, i took the iphone 3gs and took heaps of photos and videos there. It was just so cool at the time (for me). But then, one day, it stopped charging. I gave it to my dad, he opened it and had a look, the battery was swollen, and not just a little bit, it was REALLY swollen. When the music is running, and you are in the lock screen, then double tap the home button to open media controls. There you can go to the next song, a song back and seek through the song. It was on iOS 3 at least this case on my iPod 2G, it should work with this iOS as well already.

EVERYTHING was IDENTICAL to the original iPhone apart from the design and 3G/GPS chip so, no it’s no different. I never upgraded till the 3GS for that reason. Also it required a contract that actually made it MORE expensive after 2 years.

Something most of you may not know about the 3G. I bought it first year uni, My roommate was a material engineering student and we looked up the back material in a database, it’s actually a type of ceramic that was supposed to boost cellular signal by 30%. How they got to the antenna gate of the iPhone4 from there is beyond my reasoning.
